Norwood? (1 Viewer)

What do the sharks think on J Norwood moving forward.

Will he see more time? Clearly when he gets his touches he is as explosive as they come, question is, will he?

Good question, I have him stashed away on my bench just in case Dunn goes down.

Dynasty he's a for sure keeper, for re-draft he's only worth holding on to if you have a roster spot and want to take a chance on the injury bug biting Dunn.

I have Norwood and it looks like I may be using him even with Dunn healthy. (Big league, bad draft, don't ask)

I am hoping for some blowouts and that they decide to not use Dunn up before the playoffs so Norwood maybe sees 10-12 touches. Then I just need that explosiveness to shine and see him make the most of those touches.

I agree it's not ideal this year but the guy looks good when he touches it so I am hoping he can help me out. I'd keep him stashed if I had room. He's gotta be one of the best handcuffs out there right now and he is seeing some action even with Dunn there. I guess you gotta ask yourself what you can add by dropping him...

I saw where he is listed on the injury report......Questionable, I think (shoulder)

Any info?.......esp since last week was a bye week.

I had Dunn as one of my 5 keepers and drafted Norwood and still have him stashed on my bench. My only concern is that I may not have enough keeper slots to keep Norwood at the start of next year. With that said, I may choose to cut Dunn loose as Norwood might be MORE valuable than Dunn to start 2007, especially if Dunn continues to lack the Goal Line opportunities.

Just looking at his weekly stats quick.

Week 1 - 10-66; 0-0; 1 pass target

Week 2 - 9-45; 1-12; 1 target (he attempted a pass, but it was incomplete)

Week 3 - 13-44; 2-2; 2 targets

Week 4 - 6-106; 0-0; 0 targets and the big 78 yard TD run

Week 5 - bye

Week 6 - ?

So he looks to be getting around 10 touches. A lot of his work has come in the 4th quarter though so the more Atlanta blowouts the better I guess. I'd like to see a few more passes thrown his way but most of his time is late so they are running more I guess.

That big run in his last game gives me a little optimism that they will try to get him a little more involved. I like the fact they let him throw that HB option in week 2 as well. Tells me the coaches have confidence in him to make a smart decision and that they want him involved.

As has been mentioned, Dynasty he looks really nice, but I think he can help out those of us in very drastic spots this year.

why would you expect more passes? dunn isn't even getting any passes to speak of.

i always think of dunn as a pass-catching RB, but the fact is that i don't think it is really a part of the falcons or vick's playbook at this point.

Yeah, I was more hoping than expecting in increase in Norwoods pass receptions but I get your point. Vick is averaging 11 completions (on 22 attempts) a week (and that's high cuz he had to throw 31 times at NO week 3 in the loss.) so there does not appear to be a lot of reason for my hope. And yet, I still do. From Norwoods perspective though, passes are only a bonus. It's those 10 carries a week he's getting that will get him his points this year. But if he keeps making plays and Atlanta continues to win I can see his opportunities increase as they rest Dunn adn work in another threat to the offense.

I have Norwood as well, and I may drop him for Lendale White. Norwood is clearly the better long term selection behind that OL. However, short term I think their are clearly a few other #2 backs who will outperform him this year. Dunn isn't very injury prone and as mentioned, Atlanta doesn't have a passing attack.

Well, I really don't think they want to see him moving backward, so I imagine they would be in favor of seeing him moving forward.

I'm not sure how much value he really has other than as a Dunn backup.

I'm currently trying to trade for him as I am a Dunn owner, but, realistically I don't think he is a likely starter until next year, if then.

Dunn does not miss very many games, if any.

Dunn is under contract for next year, although, at a price of $3M he will probably need to re-work it as he has done the last 2 years.
