Not motivated for fantasy this year (1 Viewer)

As a long time commissioner of a 10+ year league I'm thinking about switching to a survivor pool next season. Seems like it would be really fun without very much of a time commitment and more of a jackpot if you win.

Been in a keeper league since Peyton Manning's rookie year.

Draft is Tuesday night. I haven't prepared. I have no desire to compile any kind of draft list.

Anyone else ever go through this?
I went through this a couple of years ago. Ended up making some changes that have helped.First, I cut way back on the number of leagues I was in, limiting myself to just 2 each year.

Second, I started a new league... contract dynasty league, auctions, salary cap, franchise tags, rookie draft, huge rosters, punters, team kick return units, coaches. All the stuff I'd ever wanted to try in a league. That helped a lot.

But the biggest change was, I refocused myself on my favorite NFL team. I stopped watching the red zone channel and flipping endlessly from one game to another to see how my fantasy teams do. Instead I pick a single game to watch, and only flip during commercials. I generally don't even check my fantasy scores until before Sunday Night Football. Because of this I enjoy watching football a lot more than I used to.
So true.I think it's definitely the "Sunday obsessing" that burns people out. At least it did for me. Like you said, only watching RZ or flipping endlessly. Then there's all the actual football missed staring at a laptop or smartphone screen.

Also, there's no way the Sunday obsessing can't be a miserable experience. It always seems like your players are doing terribly. You don't get to watch any football. Sunday night rolls around and you feel like you've completely wasted away one of these precious few football Sundays that we get. If you lost, it's even worse.

Go watch football all day and check on the team late Sunday. That's always a much better Sunday.

Man... I think right now, I'm in way to deep lol I've signed into the shark pool and my dynasties just about everyday for the last 3 years. If I were to guessDays without any fantasy football activity in the past 3 years(checking leagues, signing in to the shark pool, watching highlight tapes or game rewind, watching football, checking my phone for stats)... probably under 20 total days.as one guy mentioned earlier... If you can put the right odds on it... I will enjoy betting on it... and it stays just as fun as the first time I made a bet lolYou guys are making me worried though, I'm kinda young and only been in the fantasyfootball world for 7 years now... Does this fantasy football mid-life crisis happen to everyone?
I'm not sure it's really a mid-life crisis as much as it is that some people's interests change over time. I'm probably not that much older than you, and around 7 years in (2005-2006 for me) was the beginning of my descent from the peak into it not being fun at all by 2008-2009.My personality is such that when I develop an interest in a hobby, I go full-bore excessive into it. I was excessively into FF in the mid-00s. My interest in FF faded, and I started playing a lot of chess. My interest in chess faded, and <insert hobby here> replaced it. I still play chess from time to time and I still watch the NFL and help friends if they have a WDIS question - though I warn them up front that I'm not an FF player anymore. One of my bosses at work has been a very serious FF player for 21 years now....to each his own.To answer that one guy's question, I'm still here mostly because I like the FFA. I come into the Shark Pool because it's a great resource for general NFL info, all in one place. Since I live in a market with an NFL team that doesn't get a ton of national coverage, I like offering my observations and insights in the hope that someone else can make a good FF decision because of it.
