NOW OFFICIAL:TO IS AN EAGLE (1 Viewer)

Bucs fans have a free license to slam on the Iggles since they knock us out in 2002 and etc...They probably won't stop til the Philly does the same to them. The way the Bucs are looking, they may never stop. The horror.
Ummm, 2000 and 2001? That was back when the bucs were considered a HUGE playoff choke. See, every dog has his day, maybe it's finally Philly's time in the sun?

Yes, but 2000 and 2001 was more than made up for with the ###-kicking in the NFCCG.NFCCG > Wild-Card wins

And I agree, just because you guys have choked 3 years in a row, doesn't mean you will in the 4th. <_<

You're right, let's recap...1999 Bucs, NFC conference choke2000 Bucs Wildcard choke2001 Bucs Wildcard choke2002, manage to stop the choking on the 4th try.Yeah, I see your point. :rotflmao:

I can't wait to see T.O. get into it on the sidelines with Andy Reid & McNabb this year for not getting him the dam# ball. Reid has about 200lb on Mooch...It would be great to see Reid get into a scrap with T.O. I thought Ray would have kept him in check in Baltimore...who is the enforcer in Philly......McCheese????....not. I will give 3-1 odds that T.O. makes Sportcenter at least twice this year for sideline blow ups at his coach/peers.

There was a lot of uncertainty around the TO situation. His agent screwed him up and there was a lot of speculation that he was going to challenge legally to be a free agent. Why trade for something that could be free or get involved in a headache like that. I think the Ravens and Eagles just acted pro-actively to go after him by trading with SF and giving him what he wanted financially. Also, not everyone has cap room for that move._________________________________________________________________The Eagles are held up as a standard throughout the league for being a well run, well coached, and well managed team. The Eagles have been a model of team play since Andy Reid showed up, and even TO isn't going to change that. The thing is, with selfish loudmouth players, that they only complain when the team isn't doing well or losing. When they want out. I don't see the Eagles doing a lot of losing next year and TO also was in a very bad situation in SF and I think has gotten a bad rap for a lot of things. __________________________________________________________________You just go on believing old Ray Ray is an alter boy. He WAS NOT found not guilty. He pled guilty to obstruction of justice. He didn't kill anyone, but he did his best to protect his boys that did. When someone gets murdered and you saw it, you cooperate with the police. He is a punk. His lawyers admitted he lied to the police the morning after the murder and that he told some of his other boys in the limo on the way home to "just keep your mouth shut." HIS LAWYERS admitted this.Yeah, a model citizen. Get your facts straight.
OK yeah he plead down but lets get one thing straight. He did not kill anyone which is what everyone and their mama plus you I am sure was saying when this all shook down. The man was scared. One of his buddies who I agree is a striaght up ####### killed somebody in a street fight. I am not defending what Ray did when not telling what he saw. This was a friend of his I would guess and he felt like he had to watch his friends back as I am sure he felt he would do for him. Yes it was the wrong thing to do but does this make him a terrible person. No it does not. There is a thin line and he crossed it by not telling what he saw but he did what alot of people would have did defended and tried to protect his friend. So stop trying to make ths guy into some monster. He isnt what he is is the best damn LB'er in football period. It is people like you that never let stuff like this die because you are a jealous maggit. I am sure you are perfect and all your friends as well. You are right the Eagles will not do alot of losing. They are good team and will make the playoffs but Ownes alone does not make this team a superbowl bound team. In this league it all comes down to coaching because everyone is so close in talent. I think we all know Ried does not fair to well in coaching battles. Just hope he is not in a close game with Parcells with all the marbles up for grabs because he will fall on his fat face for the 4th time. Please do not tell me you just said TO has gotten a bad rap for anything other then what he says and does year in and year out. The guy is a flat out premadonna. I will give him this and that is that off the field he does not get in trouble. On the field and in the media he is a complete ###. Great signing for Philly but all these freaken Philly fans need to chill cause you DID NOT JUST WIN THE SUPER BOWL. I would be very suprised if they get into the NFC championship game. 4times in a row is very doubtful as a matter of fact I wonder what the history is on that. I know Buffalo had to do it. Dallas did it but they won three SUPERBOWLS :boxing: .Ever happen other then them two times.

I can't wait to hear Jim Rome on this since he's been saying every day for the last two weeks that TO should give it up cuz he'll never be an eagle.

Philly's lack of redzone production just got a serious upgrade.I think it is funny how everyone assumes that TO will be a problem in Philly. No one knows one way or the other. Time will tell. One thing for sure, the Iggles just got a whole lot better on the field, and that is not even debatable. Also, to the Mustang Man...If you think the Lewis's in Baltimore are an example of outstanding character, I think you need to seriously reevaluate what 'character' means. Jamal is in BIG trouble, don't kid yourself.

Since the Eagles were apparently about to cut Whiting during preseason anyway, this whole situation still seems like a bad deal for everybody other than Philly. They made out. Whiting and a 5th for TO? That my friends, is a steal.
Really? Was it because of salary issues or performance? Why did the eagles refuse to trade Whiting when the niners asked for him the first time around?

Actually, the team that made out if SF. B-More got screwed by losing out on other WR signings in this whole debacle, and PHI lost out, because if TO was truly a FA, they wouldn't have had to lose anybody. SF got a player for trading someone they had no claim to.I'll trade you my neighbor's Mercedes for your Honda...

I believe San Fran was likely to get a 3rd round pick if Owens left as a FA. I'm guessing they don't get that anymore. So, is Brandon Whiting worth a 3rd round pick? I suppose, but I don't think he's really worth getting excited about.

Not completely sure. I'm basically just repeating what Sal Palaontonio said earlier today. I suppose that refusal probably took place before they had signed Jevon Kearse, so they probably wanted to hold onto Whiting at the time. Once they had signed Kearse though, Whiting likely became expendable. I don't know if there were salary issues or injury issues or whatever. He provides nice depth for the 49ers and should compete for a starting job.Anyway, I also just saw this note on the deal:
Ironically, Whiting is the player the 49ers wanted all along from the Eagles. “We are very fortunate to have Brandon,” Dennis Erickson said. “This really solidifies our defensive end situation. He has the capabilities to play inside and outside. He gives us a physical presence at defensive end.”
So, I guess the 49ers are happy, and I know the Eagles are happy. Which pretty much leaves the Ravens SOL.

I am not saying that the Lewis's are the poster child for character. What I am saying is both of there situations got blown outa perportion. Jamal was a troubled kid coming outa college. He has been 100% clean for over two years and now something from almost 4 years ago comes and bites him in the ###. Jamalhas rededicated his life to football and I think that showed this past year. Ray was in the wrong place at the wrong time and hanging out with old friends that were bringing him down. He did nothing wrong but see his friend kill someone and try to protect him. That is behind him and of coarse he has had no problems at all sense or before that incident to my knowledge. Both of these guys work as hard as anyone to be great football players and both are Superbowl champs and among the best at their postions. They have been model citizens sense there troubled pasts. You can't argue with that. Just some people want to keep bringing this bullcrap up to try and bring them down and the Ravens. Whatever lets you sleep at nite. I can tell you one thing I would rather have Ray or Jamal on my team over the premadonna Terrel Owens any day of the week. I can bet anyone who knows anything about football would say the same. TO=LOSER and all about himself Lewis's =winners and team playersAs far as Jamal being in big trouble. The case they have against him is weak at best. I am sure he is having sleepless nights, who would'nt.. He has a very small chance of going down for this. I have not heard any report say other wise. There is always that chance though. It would be ashame because he is a turned around guy. That does not mean that his past can not still hurt him though. Only time will tell.

But the fact remains, Mustang Man, that you said the Eagles deserved a player like TO because he would fit in with the Philly misfits. I defy you to find one player on the Philly roster with *any* baggage, let alone murder or drug dealing. Your original statement was unfounded and ignorant. If there's one thing Reid's been successfull at is bringing in high character players and avoiding (or cutting) any player with questionable backgrounds. Your statement was off-base and lacked merit.

Yeah, I'm not sure where this Philly misfit thing is coming in. Eagles have been poster boys for drafting and signing high character guys under their tenure, and have traditionally let malcontents (see J. Trotter) walk.

I think it's just lately the A.I. and T.O. thing --- both being high-profile whiners and crybabys in their respectful sports and both in Philly right now. We'll see how long it takes for the Philly fans to let loose their D's on T.O. Always the sign of a classy set of folks.

49ers | May Accept Whiting or Draft Pick In Owens Deal - from www.KFFL.comSat, 20 Mar 2004 09:35:45 -0800Updating a previous report, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the San Francisco 49ers DE Brandon Whiting (shoulder), acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles in the WR Terrell Owens deal, may decide to take the Eagles third-round draft choice this year instead of the veteran defensive end. Whiting has an injured shoulder and may need to undergo surgery. The 49ers included that option in the trade settlement if they perceive Whiting to be of diminished value.
