Anyone notice how useless Fantasy Sharks Lineup Coach in MFL is? (1 Viewer)

I always look at this, not because I want to use it, but mostly for curiosity. One thing that makes it useless, is that they don't take into consideration a consensus on injuries from multiple sources and recent news. If they are questionable, or even doubtful in some cases, they slap them into their starting lineup projection. I believe it would be a better app if they would put more work into determining a player's status. For example, Dallas Goedert is questionable, but by most reports he will miss multiple weeks. By that account they shouldn't be recommending him as a starter in their projection. Another example is Jonathan Taylor. He has missed several weeks and hasn't practiced this week and yet they recommend him as a starter. The software should be smart enough to make a decision based on a consensus of multiple sources and the most recent injury news. As it is, it is only for entertainment purposes and is generally useless.

Another thing this does is throw into doubt their pregame point spread. If one is whacky, then the other one probably is too, especially if they aren’t serious about their injury projections.

Yes, the MFL projections are hot garbage in my dynasty league.

They have the fantasy preview (same as the projections in lineup selction) which are consistently awful. Absurdly high forecasts for some of the better players and way too low on some of the more aspirational bench options which might actually have streamer appeal in a given week. The projections within the live scoring are a little more realistic (powered by a different source?), but still less accurate than yahoo. Also, annoying that this version won't show the forecasts of the guys I'm leaving on my bench without me actually updating the lineup.

Say what you will about the yahoo projections, but they keep it pretty vanilla and I can generally see where their logic is coming from with most forecasts. I didn't have much of a problem with espn either when I played on that platform.

For a premium platform, MFL needs to do better with this.

I'm not even sure which MFL version is worse. The live scoring generally seems more up to date factoring information, but that one seems to make no adjustment for our league being 1/2 PPR. It currently has 49 points forecasted between AJB-Godwin-Higgins. That has to be a full PPR forecast that isn't getting scaled down for .5.

Also, their kicker forecasts are just broken. A kicker will have 10 points with 5 min left, and the projection for him will be 4.

Why do they need to do better? It's a crapshoot. I would rather rely on places like FBG or similar than a host site that really isn't anything more than a platform to collect stats from stat services.

Then don't go there if you're not serious about it. This stuff is for curiosity purposes only. At least have a serious attempt at starting lineup suggestions by actually using realistic injury forecasts.

Yeah, they're not very good... yet oddly, much better as far as "expected point totals" versus 4-5 years ago when every team was projected to score 150 points.
