OAK - Whitted To Start Opposite Moss (1 Viewer)

Maybe Whitted is a "ceremonial" starter. You know, kind of like senior night. Hi Alvis, you're currently the only WR on the team who hasn't pissed me off so we're going to start you. Then after five minutes Bobby Hurley, Laettner, Grant hill, and the other starters come on the floor and the walk on who's been getting abused by Laettner the past two years in practice goes back to the end of the bench and resumes counting rebounds and putting his thumb....

I'm not sure exactly how healthy Curry's been all preseason but if he's missed a lot of practice then I could see Shell going old school and rewarding the players who have put in the sweat. As for Porter, I love it that he's watching a career long NFL scrub play in his spot this Sunday while he sits at the end of the bench with that walk on and they both have their thumbs.....

EDIT to add: BTW, the Raiders do suck.

What a bone head Porter is. If you could put Wayne Chrebet's heart / head into (insert name of more WRs than I care to count) body you'd have the next Jerry Rice.
Oh well, hopefully that's more receptions for Jordan

On Monday, quarterback Aaron Brooks mentioned nearly all of the team's receivers other than Whitted as capable replacements for Gabriel.
:lmao: Even Aaron Brooks says Whitted's worthless. And I laugh at myself as both a Brooks owner and Curry owner.

:lmao: at the thought of the mad scramble going on to claim Whitted off of waivers right now.
Even if Whitted sees as much time as Porter/Curry, he's not going to make as many catches.People read too much into the term "starter".Moss "started" games as a Viking where he half-assed it for 3 or 4 plays and that was it for the game.

Agreed, but the thing is Porter probably doesn't care. He got his big contract, so clearly the motivation factor is no longer there. He's probably still pouting from the team bringing in Moss to usurp his #1 role.
