Obama and Biden, friendship (1 Viewer)

Was trying to think of the last President and VP had such a tight relationship, from what you read Biden and Obama have actually become really close friends

Bush and Cheney were not that tight, they weren't really contemporaries either as Cheney was much older
Gore and Bill might have gotten along a bit but it really deteriorated at the end
Bush 41 hated Quayle
Reagan and Bush 41 didn't like each other

mayne Yankee23k can fill us in for the rest

Politics asides I think Biden is the type of guy people like . So if Obama has become  genuine friends with him I'm not surprised.

Its a shame he didn't run

Carter and Mondale got along

Clinton and Gore had more a very very good working relationship than friendship.

After Reagan was shot, George HW Bush handled the entire ordeal with a great deal of class and leadership and respect for Reagan that it changed the dynamic of their relationship.  Prior to that, Reagan kept him at a distance as he was the main political rival.  After that, Reagan had Bush in almost every important meeting and worked closely with him on almost every decision of consequence for the rest of his presidency.  I don't know if they grew to have a real personal friendship, but they did respect the hell out of each other.

The best relationship between a President and his Vice President was Carter and Mondale.  They became life long friends.

I agree that Gore and Clinton had a good working relationship but not sure there was a true friendship.. it sounds like Obama and Biden have really grown to become great friends and may rival the longevity of the Carter and Mondale friendship

how about ones before that?
