ObamaCare aka "Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act" (1 Viewer)

How did this turn out?
As I said when I started this thread, at my company we are still watching emp hours to make sure part-timers don't go over 30 hours per week.

Hoping any re-work of the bill will eliminate this requirement. It's a burden to administer and employees actually dislike it because many need to have a second job now.

Ooops.
See the word "might"?  You "might" want to look that one up.  In 2014 the main reason we had an increased enrollment in the individual market is because the President allowed for "transitional plans" or the grandmothering of plans - his attempt to make good on the whole "if you like your plan you can keep your plan" statement that he repeated over and over.  Keep in mind that the transitional plans allowance didn't occur until AFTER my above post.

Didn't help that SHOP completely flopped.  Didn't the CBO or CAO project millions upon millions of people to be enrolled via SHOP?

Also, it's spelled "insurance".

For a more detailed answer, yes many self employed, as well as many companies who had individual coverage for their employees (some of which are my clients) had to obtain coverage on the exchanges due to the ACA.  What's your point?
Your arguments have been reduced to pointing out spelling errors.  Kudos.

:lmao:

The guy has schooled you a thousand times over about insurance companies for half a decade and you're convinced you the smartest guy in the room on the subject and continue trolling him because you can't either admit you were wrong or just walk away.  Amazing.

Not well, but it's not like you will ever admit it.

As much grief as I sometimes give Tim, at least he wants actual discussion.  All you want to do is genuflect to whatever the hard left tells you and then to mock anyone who disagrees with you.

Neither of those things are true.
The first most certainly is, assuming Bass is saying what I believe he's saying.  In 2017 fewer people enrolled on exchange (as well as off exchange) onto individual ACA policies than did so in 2016.  2016, or the third and final year of the carrier subsidies and such, looks to have been the high water mark.  That's when the carrier exodus really started, as well as the average, weighted, national premium increase of 25.6% for the following year.  Ironic, don't you think, that those two things happened exactly when I said they would happen 3 years ago?  Crazier still that's the year that the decline in enrollment started?

You should be happy, they are turning over the SHOP marketplace to Agents and Brokers.
