That was a hell of an inning.
Considering I had the entire Rockies outfield in my lineup tonight, yes it wasThat was a hell of an inning.
I grew up in St. Louis and live in Denver ..I attended that game last night and still proudly root for the Cards...not sure what the hell happened but anyone should have been able to come out after Franklin gives up the Ianetta homer to get the last out. Franklin was awful and LaRussa should be tarred and feathered. Also what happened to the freaking infield - the Cardinal infield botched so many balls - guessed wrong on direction, slow to react. Not the Cardinal lineup I'm used to watching. One of my sons is a huge Rockies fan. I am a huge Cards fan. So we were watching the game. It is time for Franklin to go. Unfortunately with our only other option being Motte; we are so screwed.
Eh? Franklin has been great this year. Last night sucked, but it was only one game. The Cardinals are now 38-1 this season when leading after 8 innings. Compare that to two years ago when they had over 30 blown saves, many of which ended up being losses. No need to overreact to one blown game. One of my sons is a huge Rockies fan. You are right, first lets get rid of that POS Randy Winn...then look at moving Franklin back into the setup role.Eh? Franklin has been great this year. Last night sucked, but it was only one game. Glad I didn't make the same mistake tonight!DevilsTrifecta said:Man......I turned it off in the 8th.
How awesome. My now ten year old is a Rockies fan because his first MLB game was at a Rockies game where he met Helton and then saw Helton hit a go ahead homer. He wore that signed Todd Helton t-shirt until it fell off of him. He was either four or five...but every year he bugs me to take him to Rockies games....a nine hour drive from Omaha.Just got back from taking my 4 year old son to his first major league game. CarGo hits for the cycle and a walk-off HR. Unbelievable.
Got Ubaldo in 2 leagues and Street in one of those leagues. I'm not ####### happy right now.Street is such a pile of ####. I don't think I've ever seen a guy drop an infield pop up with two outs and the bases loaded but Barmes found a way to deny Ubaldo his 18th win. Oof.
I badly need wins, I really wish they would have lost after all that because it would have made me feel better. Walking Craig Counsell in the 9th should be an automatic demotion, and luckily I've avoided Street in any league for years.Got Ubaldo in 2 leagues and Street in one of those leagues. Thanks Jim. You F'ing idiot.
I'm as so pissed right now I can't see straight. If you're going to be dumb enough to send him out there in the 8th, at least pull him after the lead off guy gets on. There's no ### ####ed way that you let that kid pitch his heart out for 7 innings of shut out ball and then put him in a position to lose that ball game.Jim Tracy is an absolute idiot.
Glad to see Rockies fans are finally seeing what Pirates fans saw up close.Jim Tracy is an absolute idiot.
CarGo did a signing out here last night, and I took my son out to get his ticket autographed from the cycle game. I'm going to get it framed with a picture of him and my son from last night. He was a little overwhelmed last night (he has a sort of "why are you making me stand with this guy look" in the picture), but I think he'll really appreciate it as he gets older. How awesome. Love this, I think Tulo will be a bargain in the long run. Its not easy to find a player that is both the best hitting and fielding player at his position. The De La Rosa deal is also nice, we get him for more than he was worth last year, but with his potential and the short contract (2 guaranteed, 1 player option) there isn't much risk.Great news for Rockies fans. The team is going to lock up Tulo for the next 10 years.
Contract details are a guaranteed 157M for 10 year. Roughly 24 million for the 3 years already under contract, 15 million for an option year and 119 million for 6 years beyond that.
The team is also apparently on the verge of re-signing Jorge De La Rosa to a 3 year deal.
