Office League (1 Viewer)

My office league (redraft) has 16 teams, mostly guppies. The commish is considering having two 8 team leagues rather than one 16 team league. The regular season would be weeks 1 thru 14, playoffs weeks 15 and 16, and the winners of each league facing each other in week 17. With the championship game having a winner from each league, there will probably be a few of the same players on each team.

I don't know if I like this or not. I tried to have this changed. But I am new to the company and the commish has been running the league for years now. Granted in the past, they only had 10 teams, so having one league was obvious.

I know that by having 8 team leagues, the teams will be stacked, and therefore more fun for office as a whole. But as a competitive FFer, I wanted the challenge of drafting in a pretty decent sized league.

Your thoughts?

I play in a 2 x 12 league with the two winners meeting in the final.

It sucks that you can only control the draft you are in. So you might play well, win your league and then face a totally stacked team that you had no control over.

The week 17 bowl game would also be a bit of a lottery with so many players sitting.

I would do the league for fun, but look elsewhere for a serious challenge.

16 team league would be a lot of fun, but I would let it go. If most of them are guppies, then you should be able to compete by accounting for the uniqueness of the league. Put together a team that will get to the top, but have more players not sitting for the championship. Between the goofy and homer picks, you should have a pretty good shot and have fun in the office. You're still competing with the best in the other league. It's just how much better can you manage to get your team at the championship.

:goodposting: My thoughts exactly. Enjoy it. Enjoy LT and Peyton on the same team :) Use it to see if there are budding sharks in your group. And then step it up next year in a different setting and keep this little group as a fun way to try goofy things. lIke having Moss and TO on the same team. Drafting 3 WRs first. Etc.My 2 cents.
