Whatever happened to setting and trusting your board? Why pre - determine positions?

Now, chances are, your board is going to indicate two WRs, but you never know how things will unfold in front of you.
If you don't take tiers and ADP (ie your league's tendencies) you are handicapping yourself.

Serious question here - I need help understanding why Gronk is valued as a 1st round pick (8th-12th pick) over other stud WR's.

I guess waiting on RB is the way to go here.
Depends. I took Julio and ODB from 11 in my local Friday, initially loved it. Starting to think I should have taken Hill or Murray who were both available. Ending up with Morris as my RB1 doesn't look too good right now. Had I taken say Hill and Julio, still could have gotten Sanders or Matthews as my WR2.

This is what I'm afraid of happening. I go Gronk, then it seems that Hill is almost always available at the 2.02 pick, with studs like DThomas, Dez, and Julio right there. If you pick one of the WR's, then you're almost always left with Frank Gore as your RB1.

Had mocked a few drafts to see how I'd pick 11 & 14. Kind of wanted to go WR/WR, but seeing where I fell for the mid tier RBs, I was just missing the ones I wanted if I did that and was more comfortable rolling the dice on the mid-tier WRs. I didn't mind taking a chance on some later RBs, but wanted one that was relatively stable. I rarely take a second QB, but wanted to block on getting good numbers from Bradford, and the last 3 rounds I thought there were 30 WRs that were all about equal.

There are a couple of picks I might like to take a mulligan on. Forte vs Hill and some later ones. Took Stafford when it was down to him or Rivers before I started looking at the Flacco/Tannehill guys, and then my next pick was 22 picks later. Probably the oldest, least exciting RBs I've ever had. Those mid-round RBs look good until you have to pull the trigger on them.

Lots of potential here.

Looks like a real team according to current ADPs and will contend.

Martin and Bradford looks like huge steals. What else was available when you took Cam?

The pick #12 thread is kind of dead, so I'll post this here instead where there has been some more chatter.

Had my draft this past weekend (PPR, 12 teams, #12 slot, start QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, No Flex) and I had gone in desperately wanting to go WR-WR, but kept telling myself I would take Forte if he fell - or even Lynch if he somehow fell.

Well, they both fall (Luck, Rodgers, and Gronk all in the 1st) and I'm sitting there WANTING to take ODB & Calvin. I bailed on myself a

nd went Lynch/Calvin. Then in the 3rd, sure enough, I had two of my top RB targets in Latavius Murray & Mark Ingram sitting there staring me in the face. I worried that RBs would go hot in the 3rd, leaving me without these two targets, and I bailed on my strategy.

My point is, stick with what you know about your league, stick with the strategy you want and feel, and don't be afraid to pass on value to get YOUR guys or YOUR team.

P.S. - I ended up trading Lynch for ODB during the draft after landing Martin in round 6 and feeling comfortable enough with Ingram/Martin to go big at WR. :)

Gronk & OBJ/Julio/CJ/Dez is what we may face. If no Gronk then probably CJ & OBJ/Julio. If no Gronk or CJ or OBJ then it's Julio & Luck/Dez.

Wondering about the Gronk & Luck combo?
At the 10 hole we ended up getting Gronk and then D Thomas in the second. Rounds 3 & 4 went RB's.

I'm picking 11th in a keeper league this weekend. There's a few 1st rounders that are being kept: Bell, Lacy (mine), Anderson, Beckham and Luck (at least 1 QB goes in the 1st in this league).

My 2 keepers are Lacy, for a 4th, and Forsett, for a 9th. So I'm looking at WRs with the 11th and 14th. I would love to be able to land 2 of Dez, Julio, Demaryius, Calvin, Cobb, and/or Green. And of course, Gronk will more than likely be there as well.

One of my main concerns is that there are a ton of WRs being kept: Beckham, Jeffery, Hopkins, Cooks, Evans, Matthews, Sanders, and Watkins. And we have to start 3, so WRs are going to be extra valuable this year in here.

So basically with all that laid out, would you still go WR/WR or go WR/Gronk and hope to scoop up WRs as the draft rolls on?

I think WR-WR is NOT the way to go.

If you're hoping some RBs will be available at the 3-4 turn you may be out of luck. J. Forsett, L. Miller, F. Gore, and M. Ingram are usually all gone.

The usual suspects that are available:

* A. Ellington -- Probably best of the lot left, but can he handle the workload?

* L. Murray -- Lot of upside, but the floor is low.

* C. Hyde -- Don't trust SF offense in general.

* M. Gordon -- Really?

* A. Morris -- Rotten team, rookie on his tail, doesn't catch the ball.

I absolutely hate what you're left with for your #1 RB.

If Lynch, CJ, or Hill drop to me I'm grabbing them and then getting a near elite WR on the turn.

There is a ton of WR value with D. Adams, J. Maclin, J. Landry, S. Watkins, A. Cooper, etc. in the next few rounds.

I'm starting to reconsider the WR-WR strategy myself...

I think I'd be happy with this squad as it is. Olsen was taken a bit early but I like Olsen.

I like this draft. This is what I'm hoping to do Friday night (similar)

Edited with finished draft. QBs went earlier than normal in this league, switching back from 2 QB and I think old memories of QB value are lingering.

Assuming you got Hopkins at the end of the 5th which is very good value. I wound up with Tate/Vjax as my WR2 which I'm not thrilled about but taking Gronk usually means making a sacrifice somewhere.

Drafted 11th today. 2WR/2RB/1Flex. I simply could not pass on 2 stud WRs.What do you think??

1.11 Demaryius Thomas, Den WR
2.14 Dez Bryant, Dal WR
3.35 Carlos Hyde, SF RB
4.38 Andre Ellington, Ari RB
5.59 Jarvis Landry, Mia WR
6.62 C.J. Spiller, NO RB
7.83 Shane Vereen, NYG RB
8.86 Kendall Wright, Ten WR
9.107 Sam Bradford, Phi QB
10.110 Tyler Eifert, Cin TE
11.131 Marvin Jones, Cin WR
12.134 Darren Sproles, Phi RB
13.155 Cardinals D/ST
14.158 Kyle Rudolph, Min TE (Don`t like to draft 2 TEs, but at this point no RB/WR name draw my attention)
15.179 Dan Bailey, Dal K
16.182 Marcus Mariota, Ten QB (Same as round 14... With Bridgewater and Winston gone, took a shot on stashing him...)

Depth Chart
Bradford, Mariota

Hyde, Ellington, Spiller, Vereen, Sproles

Demaryius, Dez, J.Landry, Kendall Wright, Marvin Jones

T.Eifert, K.Rudolph

Cardinals

Dan Bailey

Personally, I think I`ve made mistakes at RB, specially choosing Ellington. Think this unit will hurt me A LOT, unless SF O-Line and Spiller outperforms. Tending to search the waivers all year. Names on board when I chose Ellington: A.Foster, T.Gurley, J.Stewart, Latavius Murray, Doug Martin, TJ Yeldon (which I think is a giant reach at early round 4...).

Your thoughts??
