Just had my draft today...12 team, performance scoring..and it went as follows:We start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D/ST1.01 LT2.12 Chad Johnson3.01 Plaxico Burress4.12 Boldin5.01 Lendale White6.12 Chester Taylor7.01 D-Will8.12 Chris Johnson9.01 Eli Manning10.12 Owen Daniels11.01 Tony Scheffler12.12 Dallas D13.01 Aaron Rodgers14.12 Nate Kaeding15.01 Devin Hester16.01 Tim Hightower :hophead:
Seems a bit early for Chad. What other WRs were available? Calvin Johnson?
6,4,4,9,3 are the finishes that Chad Johnson has had in fantasy the last 5 years. I don't think that is at all to early to take him. Not to mention there is NO WAY he lasts till 4.12. Housh, Holt, S.Smith, S. Holmes, Welker, Marshall, Boldin, Williams, Calvin Johnson were left at that point. To talk Calvin at 2.12 you have to be
Yup, I took Chad Johnson at 2.12 as well.
In the mocks I keep running, the only WR's left at the 2/3 turn are usually Chad, TJ, Holt, Burress and of course Steve Smith.
This is true. I'm in a keeper league, so Burress was kept, but those were the top WR's remaining. I went with Chad/Holt at the 2/3 turn (had Holt rated a hair higher than TJ and ADP is meaningless there as neither was getting back to me). TJ went at 3.02 right after Holt.

Started a slow draft yesterday at the 1 spot. 12 team, PPR. Took LT, McGahee and Plax. Passed on Smith and the CJ's. Housh and Grant were already gone. We're currently at the 4.05. Manning, Witten and Maroney are still out there so I should be able to pick up a few quality WR's to fill out the lineup with the 4.12 and 5.01

had my main $ league draft last night and pulled pick 1 - was shocked and immediately changed my strategy going in...just wasn't expecting it I guess. We start qb/rb/rb/wr/wr/wr/te/flex(rb/wr)/Def/K... This is how it played out:

1. (1) LaDainian Tomlinson

2. (24) Marques Colston

3. (25) Calvin Johnson

4. (48) Earnest Graham

5. (49) Jason Witten

6. (72) Jonathan Stewart

7. (73) Dwayne Bowe

8. (96) Eli Manning

9. (97) Ted Ginn

10. (120) Maurice Morris

11. (121) Ray Rice

12. (144) Vince Young

13. (145) Jacksonville

14. (168) Muhsin Muhammad

15. (169) Robert Meachem

16. (192) Darren Sproles

17. (193) L.J. Smith

18. (216) Robbie Gould

Wasn't intending to take a TE that high, instead looking for Zach Miller or Sheffler in the 10th or 11th...but Witten at 5.1 was a no-brainer. A lot of WRs went in the 2nd, which made WR/WR at the 2/3 turn a must. Was happy to land the guys I got. Graham should be a solid RB2...and if not either Stewart, Morris, or Rice *should* emerge this year as a dependable contributer. Overall I'm very happy with this team and think it should be very competitive. The only problem is I have 6 players on a bye week 9

1. (1) LaDainian Tomlinson

2. (24) Brandon Marshall

3. (25) Brandon Jacobs-----I'm enamored w/ the Brandons' talent. Might regret passing on Brees here. Housh, S. Smith, Plax and Holt were all available... as were J.Lewis, R.Grant and McGahee

4. (48) Dwayne Bowe--- Cotch, Calvin, Santonio and Jennings all gone... Coles was there

5. (49) Jason Witten---No mandatory TE but Wit was best available

6. (72) Jay Cutler---10th QB off the board... would've taken McNabb here too but he went 6.7

7. (73) LenDale White--- wanted DeAngelo here but was taken 6.10... Edge, Ricky, C. Taylor all available

8. (96) Vincent Jackson--- should be solid WR 3... might be starting over Bowe even

9. (97) Matt Schaub--- Same BYE as Cutler... a little early as the 12th QB off the board... think I should've taken Minny DST (9.6) or Ray Rice (9.12) here

10. (120) Brandon Jackson--- wasn't targeting him, Rice was gone... probably should've gone w/ Fargas here

11. (121) Jabar Gaffney

12. (144) Mason Crosby

13. (145) Jacksonville

14. (168) Tampa Bay

15. (169) Kenny Watson

16. (192) Lindell

Not as good as the mocks I was getting Colston in the 2nd and then Marshall and Calvin Johnson/Santonio in 3/4... but I knew I'd have no chance at those guys.

What WR's were available when you took MJD?

Anyone have success taking a QB at the 2/3 turn? I usually wait for a QB late in the draft but I might take Manning or Brees at the 2/3 turn if the WR or RB value isn't there.

Housh, Holt, Smith, Marshall, Boldin. WR's taken (Moss, TO, Wayne, Fitz, welker, Colston, Edwards, AJ)

In my NBC/NFFC (12 team redraft) league on Saturday, the one slot team started with

1.01 Tomlinson

2.12 B. Marshall

3.12 Steve Smith

I just finished my draft. TE's and WR's get .5 PPR and we only have to start 1 RB:

1.01 - LT

2.12 - Fitz (happily suprised he fell to me here, and just missed on Andre Johnson)

3.01 - Marshall (passed on McGahee, Turner, Burress, W.Parker, Housh and Holt)

4.12 - S.Smith

5.01 - Cotchery (passed on Winslow)

6.12 - Cutler

7.01 - C.Taylor (AP Owner is in my division)

8.12 - Mason

9.01 - Heap

10.12 - Bears

11.01 - Ronnie Brown

12.12 - Warner

13.01 - Gostkowski

14.12 - Sproles

Hope that helps guys.........

I had my draft last night. PPR league. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 DST, 1 K

So here's how my draft went for me.

1.1 LT

2.12 Holt (WR's available were Holt, Plax, Steve Smith. Top 9 were already off the board including B.Marshall who I wouldve taken)

3.1 Brees (RB's available were J.Lewis, Jacobs, McGahee, etc). This was my worst possible scenario. I didn't want to reach for a RB here so I went with the best player available on my board. I like Brees over Romo and Manning.

4.12 Maroney - With 2 picks to go before me McGahee and Turner were still available and both teams picking already had 2 running backs. Well, they both took their third and both those guys were gone. I really don't like this pick. Other RB's available were Edge, and the rooks (Forte, Kevin Smith, etc).

5.1 Roddy White - Needed another WR. I didn’t think I could wait 24 more picks to take my WR2. Other WR's available were Driver, Evans.

6.12 Lendale White - Needed another RB to back up Maroney. He was clearly the best available. All other rookies were gone including Chris Johnson.

7.1 Burleson - WR's were very thin at this point

8.12 Dallas Clark - I wanted Cooley but he went a pick before me

9.1 Slaton - Wanted to take a RB with some upside

10.12 I. Bruce - He could be decent in SF offense

11.1 Andre Hall - Wanted to take another RB with some upside

12.12 - Kitna

13.1 Jerry Porter

14.12 Alge Crumpler - decent value very late in the draft

15.1 Giants Defense

16.12 - Prater - K for Denver
