Understand I'm not writing anyone off like Booker - but when you can get a guy who is one of the Top 7-9 RBs in the country entering in the draft in the final rounds and you have a RB need, why not? Certainly over WR.

Pretty classic end game for Andy...grabbing OL guys and let them try to hang on to the roster against very good depth already.
I'm not personally a fan of Ingram, but obviously many folks think he's a potential NFL starter down the road. We'll see.
No issues with Macho Harris. Not sure he makes the roster though, depends what we do with Sheldon.

We may still get a TE like Scheffler or Scaife. Denver has to be looking to deal Scheffler, and we got that extra 2010 3rd round pick just dangling out there. That has to be the reason the Eagles did that deal. The Titans drafted Jared Cook with Bo Scaife sitting there not having signed his franchise tender. Seattle just pulled Leroy Hill's tender after drafting Curry, maybe Tenn. does the same with Scaife. Remember, Scaife was who the Eagles wanted right at the start of free agency. A trio of Scheffler/Scaife, Celek, Ingram is much better than Smith, Celek, Schobel. Hopefully, they get something done.

Seriously, I'd trade his overrated butt to Detroit for a 6th rd pick and tell him to enjoy himself and have watching us in January. This season has the makings of something special with the way the offseason has gone. Why have one guy try to ruin it?

So what do you guys think of Maclin? I don't know much about the guy to be honest. At a quick glance, he seems similar to our two other starting receivers. Will a trio of Curtis, Jackson and Maclin be able to compete against the defenses in the NFCEast?
We still haven't answered our red zone woes it seems, all we drafted was a TE who may or may not be able to overcome an injury to be productive. Will Weaver be able to contribute in the redzone?
I'm still very happy with the offseason but these few question marks are nagging at me.

Would like to see a big target but have to be happy with Maclin. Don't know alot about him, he's a burner in highlights but don't see many deepball plays. Thinking there are still some deals in the works.

Maclin is 6'1 200, Not exactly 6'3 225, but still not bad size for a WR. But i would put money on him being faster than Curtis and probably close to D Jax. Sure hope they hit the lottery 2 years in a row, but that may be asking too much

Macho was used all over the VT secondary. He can be a cover corner (and a very good one) or a safety.I am telling you know, if you haven't seen him play - Philly fans will love this kid. He's a hard hitter and a true football player. Fans will love his motor.

To clarify the 2010 picks, IIRC Buffalo got Philly's 4th this year and the 1st. I do believe that they get the 2010 6th as well.
Also keep in mind that Philly will likely get a comp pick with Dawkins, Buckhalter and LJ Smith leaving. I'd guess a 5th and maybe a 6th or 7th.

I doubt we get many comps...we signed two safeties that could see significant time, a likely starting RT, and a starting FB. A single 7th seems the ceiling at the moment.

Eagles fans should be loving life right now. They get established CB, FB, 2 OT's that will all start right away. Add to that they get a fantastic playmaker at WR and arguably the 3rd bet RB in the draft. Both of them should see significant playing time as well.
There should be no excuses next year. I think they've firmly entrenched themselves as the 2nd best team in the East and maybe the 2nd best in the NFC.

I LOVE the deal for Hobbs. I'm guessing the only reason he was so cheap is becuase his contract is up after this year? LOVE the Ingram pick. Really like the Harris pick (at S, not CB). Ending up with 3 extra picks next year is quality trading by Andy.
On the negative side, I predict the last 4 picks will all be cut by the end of TC. Why not turn them all into a 3rd or 4th rounder I can't figure out...
Still, if I'm wrong about McCoy, this draft will be an A.

The more I read/watch/think about it, the more 
I am about this year. I honestly feel the Eagles have had the best off-season in my memory, and are a strong contender for this season.
Even better is that excepting McNabb/Westbrook, they are very well positioned to remain strong for years.

Hey GB,My understanding is the Colts didn't want to risk losing the kid to another team or having to compete for him as a UDFA. They're really high on him, and was the top PK prospect in a lot of publications. Remember, Vinatieri is no longer a plus kicker. Despite playing half his games in Indy, he was only 26th in the league in touchback rate, 26th in FG%, and was 30th in FGs 40+.

I agree DH but the Giants are better? Considering they beat them easy twice in their own house post Plaxico. As long as they don't have a true #1, I'm not conceding anything to them. To pin all their hope on Hakeem Hicks isn't even fair to him. Deferring to 610 on the state of the Eagles is ridicolous, how any Eagle fan can complain about this off season is beyond me.

I can see the Giants struggling a bit this year as a) Spags is gone and he was vital to the execution on defense to say the least and b) no Plax = a completely different offense. Plus I don't think people appreciate what a dynamic weapon Derrick Ward is. The guy was a 1,000 yard rusher who could catch you 60 balls, too. Sure Bradshaw and Brown will still give them a 3-headed monster, but it's a decidedly less dynamic 3-headed monster. On the flip side, the defensive personnel is even better than 2008, if that's possible.
Even though I can see how the Gints would fall short, I'm not counting on it. I would put them as the NFC East favorites until we prove otherwise.

That being said, I wouldn't be shocked if the Eagles took the division.I see the East like this right now:1 NYG2 Philly3 Washington4 Dallas I'll take flak for Wash over Dallas, but the 'Boys have regressed a lot since last year while the Skins have improved a lot. Jason Cambell is the wild card in that whole situation though.

TESTIFY!WIP infuriates me to no end. During the season I subject myself to it on the long drive from home to the stadium and I always regret it. There's a culture there just hellbent on looking at the glass half empty. And the culture is steeped throughout the station, such that they hire other DJs who are cut from the same cloth. It would be one thing if they were critical but made cogent, valid criticisms predicated on factual analysis and also leveraging information they had that the average fan did not. But it's NOTHING like that. They are really lazy, even in so far as knowing anything about the other teams/personnel in the league. I listened this week a bit b/c of the draft and was stunned at the blatant misstatement of fact the hosts were allowing from callers AND making themselves. A total debacle.Angelo is a fool. The big deal with McAfee (WVU grad) is that he can PK and punt. Good athlete and has a hell of a leg for PK, and has struggled some with accurracy. However, last I checked he still holds the record for the longest field goal at Heinz field, 53 yards.

Only in Philly would you drive up 100 miles to boo your franchise QB when you already have Duce Staley. The biggest clown of them all - Eskin - is in the front offices pocket, meanwhile 10 years ago hes ripping the Birds left and right.
