I am in Florida. Anyone have any suggestions how I can watch the rest of the Hawks game?
Hopefully.Khabibulin is :X two games and 9 goals against. Got pulled half way through the 2nd. I think Raanta might be getting a call up in the near future.
Must've only seen the third? Played pretty well the first two periods, then were dominated in the third.man the Flyers are bad
except Mason
no, watched most of it. mental midgets and fighting the puck at every turn. losing that game was embarrassing. team is a disaster.Must've only seen the third? Played pretty well the first two periods, then were dominated in the third.man the Flyers are bad

He does, and it's a terrible contract for him at 1.7MM.Hopefully.Khabibulin is :X two games and 9 goals against. Got pulled half way through the 2nd. I think Raanta might be getting a call up in the near future.
Dobber recently wrote about the ineffectiveness of goalies who are >35 and was wondering why teams continue to give them chances. He has a point.
I think it's pretty amazing how well some goalies in that age range have played recently so it doesn't seem shocking to me that they are getting chances.Hopefully.Khabibulin is :X two games and 9 goals against. Well it certainly seems the wheels completely fell off this year. He wasn't very good in the preseason and has been mediocre to awful in the regular season so far. Not sure how many more chances Quenneville will give him.I think it's pretty amazing how well some goalies in that age range have played recently so it doesn't seem shocking to me that they are getting chances.Hopefully.Khabibulin is :X two games and 9 goals against. Tim Thomas at 36 put up a .938 SV% season and went 35-11-9.
Tim Thomas at 37 put up .920 SV% season and went 35-19-1.
Domenik Hasek at 41 put up a .925 SV% season and went 28-10-4
Brodeur had a 45 win season at age 37 with 9 shutouts
Khabibulin last year at 40 put up a .923 SV% season (in just 12 games)
Khabibulin at 36 put up a .919 SV% season and went 25-8-7.
Tomas Vokoun last year at 36 put up a .919 SV% season and went 13-4
some other guys who have played well in that age range recently:

Badly worded on my part, but I meant it is a significant blue line loss for Pittsburgh.Sheriff66 said:What does this mean?Rob Scuderi out indefinitely with a broken ankle. Bad luck for the Pens blueliners going forward.
The #1 best way to create a long term winner. If you're a team that has next to no hope in making the playoffs the next 1-2 years, going in full tank mode is definitely the way to go.ffldrew said:It's interesting in that you have a new hotshot owner who came in riding a white horse and saying all the things about building winner and he's a Miller trade away from stripping the team clean and starting over from scratch. I'm not sure that most Sabres fans were really ready for the wholesale nature of this rebuild.
Yeah, I am ready for the Khabibulin Experiment 2.0 to end come to an end.Khabibulin is :X two games and 9 goals against. Got pulled half way through the 2nd. I think Raanta might be getting a call up in the near future.

Even the Pope can only do so much for them.man the Flyers are bad

Its all but written in stone now.road to dominance starts tonight?Ok. I lived up to my part, Rangers just need to win 52 more games and then the Stanley Cup and you'll all be kissing my feet.Rangers to win 55 games and go on to win the Stanley Cup. You heard it here first.
Please refrain from ridicule until after they lose 7 of the first 10 games.
Was not a big fan of signing Khabibulin again, and was hoping Raanta might get a shot. Then again I wasn't a fan of signing Emery last year and he was pretty much flawless. So in summation, I'm a terrible judge of talent but hope there is a change at the backup goalie position.Khabibulin is :X two games and 9 goals against. Got pulled half way through the 2nd. I think Raanta might be getting a call up in the near future.
36 year old J.S Giguere so far 3-0 with .67 GAA/.981 SAV% - shutouts against Boston and Pittsburgh. Hoping he continues to break this trendHopefully.Khabibulin is :X two games and 9 goals against. Got pulled half way through the 2nd. I think Raanta might be getting a call up in the near future.

You should've seen the first 8 games, last night was an improvement. :X (except for the 3rd)no, watched most of it. mental midgets and fighting the puck at every turn. losing that game was embarrassing. team is a disaster.Must've only seen the third? After reading more about it, it's unlikely Raanta will get called up just based on the cap situation. And the sucks since Crow will likely be overworked this season. Was not a big fan of signing Khabibulin again, and was hoping Raanta might get a shot. It helps to actually address the defense/goaltending at some point. That's like the Detroit Lions drafting nothing but WRs.unless you're the OilersThe #1 best way to create a long term winner. http://theleafsnation.com/2013/10/30/the-phil-kessel-bus-tossing-databaseKessel had 4 points last night after being NHL's 2nd star last week. Unsurprisingly, he's stepped it up another notch playing with Kadri rather than Bozak. Lots of Toronto bloggers had a lot of fun retweeting (awful) old articles from Toronto's (awful) hockey media from a little over a year ago saying the Leafs MUST TRADE KESSEL. So happy he's locked up long term.
The trade that sent Phil Kessel from the Boston Bruins to the Toronto Maple Leafs has been voted the best trade in Boston sports history, according to a recent NESN poll.
The Leafs acquired Phil Kessel in September 2009 in exchange for first-round picks in 2010 and 2011 and a second-round pick as well. Boston drafted Tyler Seguin with the 2010 pick and selected Dougie Hamilton in 2011.
That move beat out three other prominent trades in Boston sports history.

probably weren't alive for that.it's not even the best Bruins trade in recent years. The picks for Parish/McHale should have won in a rout. Then again, mostprobably weren't alive for that.
Ouch. 100% accurate, but still...ouch.unless you're the OilersThe #1 best way to create a long term winner. Raycroft may be the best goalie in the Swedish second league this year.it's not even the best Bruins trade in recent years. The picks for Parish/McHale should have won in a rout. Then again, mostprobably weren't alive for that.
Rask for Raycroff looks a lot better.
When they have made good draft picks in later rounds they end up trading the players away early in their development. See Stoll, Greene, Brodziak.I think a big part of the problem with the Oilers is they haven't hit on many picks after their high 1st rounders in recent drafts.
http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/teams/dr00005632.html
Their only pick outside of round 1 to make a significant contribution from 2004 to present is Jeff Petry.
Their recent draft history looks like a wasteland outside of the superstars so they have no depth.
And no way that trade tops Neely and the No. 3 pick that became Glen Wesley for Barry Pederson.it's not even the best Bruins trade in recent years. The picks for Parish/McHale should have won in a rout. Then again, mostprobably weren't alive for that.
Rask for Raycroff looks a lot better.
