***Official 2013/2014 NHL Regular Season Thread*** (1 Viewer)

Wow, Penn St just beat Michigan in double OT in the Big10 quarters. Huge upset. For some reason Penn St has played Michigan tough all year.

I read they were about 95 percent with a win, but only about 22 percent with a loss.

Penn State outshot Michigan by a good margin, Not a fluke.

 Flyers in a groove. 12-3-1 in their last 16, 4 straight against Pitt(2), Chicago and Dallas. St Louis on deck.

Team statement on Hagg

The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have agreed to terms with 6-2, 204-lb defenseman Robert Hagg, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

Hagg will travel to North America on Monday and report to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old Hagg was selected by the Flyers in the second round (41st overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

He appeared in 50 games for MODO of the Swedish Hockey League where he had a goal and five assists for six points to go along with 47 penalty minutes.

He also played for Sweden in the World Junior Championships, helping lead the team to the Gold Medal game.

If anybody is still confused on how the playoffs work this season, no worries. The people at the PGH post gazette have them completely wrong in today's newspaper.

Top 3 in each division and then the next two highest point totals regardless of division get the wildcard. What's so difficult?

It's Pittsburgh, they're still trying to figure out offsides and icing, cut them some slack.

and why they got shut down in the playoffs last year

20 goals in 26 games for Stamkos. And was getting his legs back for a handful of those games. Shame he missed so much time.

If the Red Wings make the playoffs itr will be a minor miracle. Seven of the 18 skaters playing today came into the season with less than 50 NHL games under their belt, Babcock has done a terrific job with this group. Datsyuk has been out half the season and Z is out for the rest of the year most likely.

Nyquist!!!!! :banned:

Also, David Legwand has been terrific. He plays some great team defense and is one of the best forecheckers in the game. He also has provided a scoring punch, getting seven points in nine games as a Wing now.

Stephen Weiss was supposed to be back at the beginning of March and here we are in late March and he's still on the shelf. What a waste of money, $4.9 million in cap space for 26 games and four ####### points.

Still not sure we should have given up so much for him, but he certainly been playing well for us. Like I said at the time, I hope I was wrong.

:excited: St. Louis taken care of, 5 in a row. Kings up next.
If they can carry this into the playoffs, they're going to make a lot of noise.
Remarkable start to the dreaded 12 game stretch they're in the middle of going through. They're playing as well as anyone right now and outside of the Bs can beat anyone in the east. They're making me start to believe they can go on a serious run in the playoffs. Exciting times. And Raffl gets an extension for 2/2.2. Awesome deal for a guy that plays hockey the right way and is very versatile.
