I don't completely agree with this statement. A couple of times he has been beaten by perfect throws and catches to Calvin and Dez and he was with them step for step. I thought he did a decent job on Dez but Calvin owned him. If you want to judge a rookie going up against arguably the 2 best WR in football then you are being a little harsh. There were times when Romo had about 10 minutes to throw the ball last night and it is difficult to continue covering WRs for that long.Kyle Fuller gets owned by everyone. I know he's been battling injuries but he sucks right now. DROY? What a joke
I think you covered most everything. It was a tough game to watch, it's obvious that the Bears came out less than motivated for this game. Phil Simms actually had a good point last night, there doesn't appear to be anyone on the Bears sideline that can fire this team up. Have you ever seen Trestman angry? Has he every yelled at a player or ref in game? It doesn't come from Cutler or Forte either. Marshall is one of the few vocal guys on the team, and when he yells, it gets blown out of proportion. My positive comments from last night's game
1) At least they didn't give up 50 and held Murray to under 200 yards.
2) They matched their highest season point total
3) They executed their first onside kick in over 10 years.
4) Chris Conte's injury wasn't another concussion. This guy is falling apart literally.
5) Cutler, Forte, Jeffery and Bennett were all good fantasy starts.
6) Cutler could have easily had more than 1 interception
That's about all I can think of. KCitons - you are the Bears optimist so I assume you can add a few things.
Don't even man. Not a chance in hell so don't even post his name in this thread.Harbaugh (Jim) coaching Da Bears in 2015 might not be as unrealistic as some thinks......
Middle of the 3rd quarter there was a mass exodus from Soldier Field, so I moved to 10th row behind the Bears bench (D/ST side). Ratliff and Allen were trying their best to fire people up, especially Allen. I couldn't see the offense side too wellI think you covered most everything. We need a leader. I was hoping Long, or Bostic, or Allen would step into this role, but it doesn't seem to be working. As much as I hate to say it, Urlacher may have been the glue that held this all together.
What do we do moving forward? I don't think blowing the whole thing up is the answer unless you have a proven coach that can make an immediate impact. (Gruden, Cower, Harbaugh, etc) Bringing in another coordinator is no guarantee of success. Especially if the problem is with Emery. We may jump from the frying pan into the kettle. I'm hoping for smaller changes. Defensive coaching staff needs to go. The first, second and third round picks need to go to Offensive line and defensive line. There is very little out there in the free agent market for OL in 2015. (Iupati) We need to be able to open holes for Forte, and give Cutler a few extra seconds to throw. Many of the other pieces are in place.
Also, I would like to know why Cutler hasn't been rolling out much this year? I know they think the OL is good enough to block. But, there have been games that he's been under fire a lot. They used to roll him out to give him a little more time.![]()

Bears announce WR Brandon Marshall broke 2 ribs and injured a lung. He’s still in the hospital for examination. Out for Saints, maybe more
Those were good times...Remember when we beat the 49ers? Remember? At their NEW ballpark? Remember?
Ah, the good old days.
What's Wade Phillips doing right now? This stinks! Not because they keep getting blown out, but rather, because real hope is a long way off.
It would be very unlike the Bears to fire Trestman with the remaining years on his contract. Mel will, consequently, be the sacrifice. Since Trestman will then be a head coach "on thin ice", no real good D-Coordinator or other coaches will want to come here (at least none that have had past success or are up and comers). So a re-tred or project will be the stop gap. Then, in 2-3 years, Trestman and Emery get canned (or not renewed), and this cycle repeats. This is the same nonsense that happened with Lovie towards the end of his tenure. Too bad the Bears management continues to make the same mistakes over-and-over ... And, over.
The Bears president, Phillips, has to retire from the Player/Personel side and just focus on the accounting matters. There must be a complete housekeeping here and the inserting of a NFL Player/Personnel Co-President before we can really build the franchise Chicago deserves.
Then they won at Jets on Monday night. 2 straight road wins and the ship was righted after the hiccup in the opener. We were on track to begin cruising.Remember when we beat the 49ers? Remember? At their NEW ballpark? Remember?

Nope. We actually thought they'd be good this year. VERY good.they are what we thought they were
Absolutely. Thought the offense could contend for best in football and the D would be much improved.Actually I thought they'd be just good. 10-11 wins. Didn't figure them to win the division but thought a wildcard was guaranteed.
Nope.they are what we thought they wereWesweetness actually thought they'd be good this year. VERY good.
Most points allowed in leagueTechnically they've improved slightly.Significant improvement.![]()
you say that now, but when they traded for cutler you probably peed yourself, and laughed about ripping off that idiot mcdanielsThese reports just lend credence to what we have known for years - this ownership is pathetic. They are now regretting paying a king's ransom for an overpaid malcontent. I had a great laugh at this one. Again - why do people pay hard earned money to go see this clown car extravaganza? Trade Cutler? I mean really with this crap? Who is the moron that decided to pay this chump all this money? Keep counting the cash Prince Georgie Boy.

What a surprise, Captain "Ian" Obvious (sarcasm). As long as Ted Phillips can say one of these two things every time ownership looks his way (1) the GM needs a little time, but we need to replace the coach or (2) we need to replace the GM ... the Bears will continue to be mired in mediocrity. He has made the Bears ownership so much money on the advertising, stadium and business side of things that he is nearly untouchable, and he should be. But, only in that role.Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 12m12 minutes ago
Barring significant improvement, Im told the #Bears plan to part ways with defensive coordinator Mel Tucker after this season.
Maybe we can trade up with cutler and draft MariotaIf Emery can't draft, what difference does it make if we are slotted in the 8-10 range? There are so many bad teams this year, there's no way we get higher than 7th.
