He's not worth a 1st or early/mid 2nd in 2015 value. Other years it might be different. I don't think he ends the year as a WR3, and long term I'd expect him to be more of a role player and NFL WR3. In most my leagues he doesn't help me (my WR3 is already better). In the leagues he would help me I got a stopgap like Sanu or Hawkins who offers the same production. You said yourself a few months ago that more WRs are producing. Therefore, there's no need to spend for WR3s who will be lucky to end up as WR3s. It is interesting how he picked his game up once the season started. He was terrible in the preseason game I saw him. Now he looks like Andre Roberts. How much less than a late first do you feel Wheaton is worth? Is it greater than a year of WR2/3 production? Perhaps I am lower on Matthews that most--of course, you have to love his situation--but I don't see any issue with moving him for Wheaton, if I'm plugging Wheaton into my WR3/flex spot (advantage).
People who took Matthews generally took him earlier than late 1st. I can appreciate someone making a quick decision on a prospect and selling for value before they struggle more, but I don't think this qualifies.
