**Official 2014 In Season Dynasty Trade Thread** (1 Viewer)

How much less than a late first do you feel Wheaton is worth? Is it greater than a year of WR2/3 production? Perhaps I am lower on Matthews that most--of course, you have to love his situation--but I don't see any issue with moving him for Wheaton, if I'm plugging Wheaton into my WR3/flex spot (advantage).
He's not worth a 1st or early/mid 2nd in 2015 value. Other years it might be different. I don't think he ends the year as a WR3, and long term I'd expect him to be more of a role player and NFL WR3. In most my leagues he doesn't help me (my WR3 is already better). In the leagues he would help me I got a stopgap like Sanu or Hawkins who offers the same production. You said yourself a few months ago that more WRs are producing. Therefore, there's no need to spend for WR3s who will be lucky to end up as WR3s. It is interesting how he picked his game up once the season started. He was terrible in the preseason game I saw him. Now he looks like Andre Roberts.

People who took Matthews generally took him earlier than late 1st. I can appreciate someone making a quick decision on a prospect and selling for value before they struggle more, but I don't think this qualifies.

I think I disagree with your conclusion on Wheaton. I haven't closed the book on him producing fantasy WR2 value while holding an NFL WR2 spot, or him holding said NFL spot beyond this season. He's looked damn good both weeks and could have easily put up big numbers last week--had a coin flip play or two gone his way. I recall a penalty erasing a solid gain, and think there was another similar play. He's a big part of what looks to be an offensive machine (for fantasy purposes only, in part due to a poor defense).

I do agree that Matthews has a higher ceiling and is more valuable in a vacuum because of it. But I feel confident in Wheaton providing close value at season's end, after a year of "+" production at the WR3/flex spot.

I had a very strong roster with a huge hole at WR3 going into last week--Julio, D.Thomas, then nothing (Lee, Amendola). I'd have made this deal. In my others, I'd have made it the other direction.

12 team PPR superflex; can start as little as 1rb - max of 5wr (though you really want to have a QB flex)

16 team non-PPR

A few days ago, I started buying into the Gordon reinstatement hype. I traded:

Torrey Smith

Jeremy Hill

for

Josh Gordon

I felt like I overpaid. Then Gordon was officially reinstated for the playoffs (which I've not missed in years in this league) and I felt better about it.

Then today the team that traded me Gordon offered me, out of the "blue":

Jeremy Hill

Jamie Collins

for

Alfred Blue

Marques Wilson

I accepted, happily.

So overall I gave:

Torrey Smith

Marques Wilson

Alfred Blue

for

Josh Gordon

Jamies Collins

I sent Floyd. He was a solid contract and that was my selling point. I have Sammy, Gordon, Keenan Allen, Cobb, Latimer, and Robinson at WR, but only Eddie Lacy and cMike signed as RBs. For me, it amounted to trading Floyd and Sims for West, Crowell, and an early 1st. His pick was the required piece for me.

I can see taking the backs and the pick. I am pretty high on Floyd though

Agreed. I have Floyd in 5 out of 6 leagues. Now 4.

12 team, 0.5 PPR. Start QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE

I give: Asiata

I get: 2016 2nd (guess non-playoff)

Picked up in FA, glad to flip him.

I'd take Adams and the 2nd (w/ the handcuffs mostly evening out). I've been selling on Torrey Smith since the end of last year though and am just down on him ever being more than a WR3 that is hit or miss.

Depends upon the pick. If it ends up #1, it's a great deal. If it's pretty much guaranteed to be top 5 then I think it's a pretty good deal. If it's more of a mid-1st, then I don't really like it.

I am super high on T. West. Sucks you had to give up C. Sims though. He could be a really valuable guy in a 16 team PPR league where you have to start 2 RBs.

Made two deals on my rebuilding team,

Gave

2015 2nd (likely wildcard playoff team)

Got

John Brown

next day did a deal with the same team

Wow Torrey's value must really be in the dumps. Perhaps I can get him in the last few leagues I don't have him. I like Adams well enough, but he's a late first guy and nobody was giving up Torrey for less than a mid-first, at least. Two down games doesn't make me believe he forgot how to play football at a high level.

$1000 cap salary league, 2QB league:

I gave: Heath Miller ($17/2yr), Ladarius Green ($5/5yr), David Carr ($5/5yr) & 2015 1st (likely late)

I got: Julius Thomas ($36/3yr) & 2015 4th & 5th.

I am win now, but was patchy at TE. Was happy to trade away future value (both Green & Carr are on the cheapest contract possible) to get elite production this year. I also own Kelce, who I like more than Green and still have another 2015 1st.

I'm not a huge fan of Torrey. Don't think he's got very good hands or is that good of a route runner. I've probably undersold him in one league where I sent Torrey, Marvin Jones, 5.11 for Bryce Brown, 2.04, 3.04. So for me, it's not just these first two games of the season for me.

14 team PPR, start 1 RB.

Gave:

Ryan Mathews

Da'Rick Rogers

Got:

Reggie Bush

Bryce Brown

Think this might be kind of a short-sighted move because I need a startable RB now in this league, but I'll take it. Lineup is stacked otherwise and I only need one RB to start.

I like it, but I'm higher on Bush than consensus, (I prefer him to Mathews straight up, Brown is just gravy).

Roddy white for a 2015 1st (likely 11-16)

WR are king in this league, team trading white is in a build year.

I've made a few Griffin back-fill trades. Don't love the value on any of them.

GAVE DeAndre Hopkins, Martellus Bennett

GOT Russell Wilson, Austin Seferian-Jenkins

(had no QB2, max 3 WR start, still have Julio, DT, Dez, Jeffery, Floyd, Randle)

GAVE Aaron Dobson

GOT Ben Roethlisberger

(Dobson in a bubble worth more, league was holding my balls for having no QB2, Dobson was WR10 on team)

GAVE Tyler Eifert

GOT Phillip Rivers

(Again, Eifert in a bubble worth more, no one dealing a QB, still left with Gronk/Ebron in a start 1 TE max)

Personally think that is an overpay for Brown but I love the Floyd deal for you

Found myself in a similar situation in one league and decided I'd rather just start Alex Smith every week. Like the Dobson deal best as I don't see much long term success in him.

I like this a lot for you - I take Bush over Matthews, and Brown over Rogers.
