Interesting that Zusi is on the left and Bedoya's on the right. Anyone want to take a shot at what that means?

Also, these scenes from around the US are crazy.
I'm wondering if it was backwards because it had Jones on the right and Beckerman on the left too.

My guess...Bedoya tacks back better than Zusi. That gives Fab support against Cristiano. Cristiano and Nani will switch sides, but the majority of the time CR7 will be on the left.
Do you ever see defenders switch back and forth to track a particular player? Not man marking, just making sure they're on the same side if the offensive guy moves?

It was nice not having Lalas as an analyst in the first two games. And Ruud and the Everton dude were breaking down some solid analysis on the USA game earlier. Oh well.

I am guessing JK wants Jones to be physical with Ronaldo. Guaranteed Yellow imo.
Helps that no one is already on a yellow. Get in his head, Junior Jones!

Martinez is so great as an analyst.

So great on fact, he should retire from coaching asap. ;)

I hope they're all over him.

Commented on Ruud earlier -- his presence in front of camera needs some work, but his analysis is really nice.

Not so much anymore. The last big game I remember it happening was when Park Ji-Sung marked Pirlo out of a CL game.

That was a central player, though, not a winger. Obviously more difficult to do nowadays with the fluidity imo

Someone on Twitter just said that Silver's group ran the numbers for W-D-L today. A draw actually helps us quite a bit...

Per SPI, USA current group adv pct is 64%, & obviously 100% w/ win. Draw raises pct to ~75%, loss drops it to ~21% (depends on exact score).
