So a $1.3 million raise (for one year) and a salary of $3.6 million makes the NFL irrelevant? He could have gotten more money in the NFL this much is not disputed. Perhaps he likes the fact he has job security and gets to build a program with a top QB prospect.

True, and that sucks. But if you're not gonna have a title, 4 straight BCS bowls and a Rose Bowl victory is an ok consolation.

ESPN killed these games moving them off New Years Day. I get the feeling people just don't give a crap about college football after New Years except for the Championship Game. Can't wait for the Go Daddy bowl this weekend. Ratings bonanza!

Eric Reid(FS) and Kevin Minter(MLB) just declared. Mingo(DE), Montgomery(DE) and Binnie Logan(DT) are probably gone too. LSU will take a hit at the DE position, but LSU's best DT is still there, Anthony Johnson. Plus LSU still has good depth at DT.Some of the HBs might go, like Ware or Blue, but LSU's depth at HB is solid.LSU started up to 8 freshmen this year and about 10 got significant PT. This season was actually a rebuilding year and I'm happy with the results, except for the Bowl game.

Meh. We already have a championship game and BCS bowls. The only thing that will really change is all the drama in October/November being focused on who gets in and who doesn't. Let me know when we get to 8-12 teams in a real playoff where politics aren't picking all the teams.

I think everyone knew he was going somewhere in the NFL and Oregon has been preparing for it. But, I didn't think he'd essentially reach an agreement with anyone less than 24 hours after the Fiesta Bowl. Obviously, David Dunn (and Kelly) were working behind the scenes prior to this, but I didn't expect it quite this fast.
