Have they ever?Sadly, tradition isn't what high school kids seem to care about these days.

Not a stretch IMO. After all, their defense is called "The Blackshirts".I don't think it's really that anti-traditional. Black is a secondary color for NU....MLB has been doing secondary color jerseys for years.
The black vols jerseys on Halloween the kiffin year were awesome.I don't have any issue with the alternate jerseys if they are well done, except that the Cocks always lose with them on. Really liked the grey ones used against LSU last year.
Anything is an upgrade over prison jumpsuit orange. The black vols jerseys on Halloween the kiffin year were awesome.I don't have any issue with the alternate jerseys if they are well done, except that the Cocks always lose with them on. Really liked the grey ones used against LSU last year.
Yeah, I was in Knox for that one.The black vols jerseys on Halloween the kiffin year were awesome.I don't have any issue with the alternate jerseys if they are well done, except that the Cocks always lose with them on. Really liked the grey ones used against LSU last year.
It doesn't hurt. Teens like a cool school...these kind of things make them cooler. Up to the individual how much weight to give it.Are five star recruits really going to choose Nebraska because they might get to wear a black jersey every once in awhile?
Any NCAA school that hires Chip Kelly in the next 18 months is open to sanctions from the NCAA.What is a show cause penalty?
Would you rather Buffalo/MAC get no exposure at all, and no opportunity to showcase anything to a potential recruit who just might be among those 25,000 watching and might see something he likes?Ah yes, the annual MAC "let's schedule a ton of games on Tuesday and Wednesday late in the year so we can get 25,000 viewers on ESPN2!!!" philosophy in full effect. UB with 3 straight Tuesday-night games 11/5 - 11/12 - 11/19. Upside is that I can see them on ESPN2 and ESPNU and I don't have to miss real college football on Saturdays....the downside is that it shows just how big a joke the program is. If they're as bad as I think they could be....those games could be brutally bad television. Maybe I'll go to the Ohio game on 11/5. #### Ohio.MAC preliminary TV schedule. ESPN3 games for only the first couple of weeks so far.
My LinkThe penalties are just about what anyone thought they would be, assuming you've followed the story. Definitely relieved, because wtf knows what the NCAA will do on a given day.
Now time for Helfrich to pick it up and take things that one step further that Chip didn't!

I'm sick of people claiming that Oregon cheated when they have not bothered to read the reports. Oregon operated in a grey area much like many other schools have done in regards to recruiting services. They did not give illegal benefits to any student athletes and fully cooperated with the NCAA during the entire process. While the penalties may seem light today, I would argue that Oregon has already been punished enough with the harm it has done to recruiting over these past two years. How does it take the NCAA 27 months to rule on this?

I think the degrees of oversight and neglect at the hands of Penn State football and administration is something that is really unprecedented in our history and hopefully is an outlier for centuries. I don't disagree that Penn State got whacked incredibly hard (though not as hard as SMU, so I disagree with your 'harshest punishment ever' line) but I don't think you can compare the cases as they are apples and oranges. I mean...Penn State Football is responsible for victims of sexual crimes with a heinous cover-up. Yuck, man.Oregon plays patty cake and gets a love tap in return. The penalties are just about what anyone thought they would be, assuming you've followed the story. USC acts defiant - gets whacked.
Ohio State plays fast and loose - gets whacked.
Penn State rolls over and plays dead - gets harshest punishment ever.
Show me the consistency.

I had read this, but I'm struggling to see the benefit of anyone going over there without ND as the opponent.Alabama, Penn State, and BC interested in following ND to play in Ireland:

Yea...I don't really get it either. The travel expenses would probably wipe out most of the appearance fee. And you're doing this instead of a game in Atlanta or Dallas.I had read this, but I'm struggling to see the benefit of anyone going over there without ND as the opponent.Alabama, Penn State, and BC interested in following ND to play in Ireland:http://thescore.thejournal.ie/ireland-to-host-multiple-american-football-games-983099-Jul2013/?utm_source=shortlink

Your damn right. Tue-Thr Mac football is some great TV and I suspect they get much more then 25K viewers.Ah yes, the annual MAC "let's schedule a ton of games on Tuesday and Wednesday late in the year so we can get 25,000 viewers on ESPN2!!!" philosophy in full effect. I can tell you they get at least 15 from the FFAWT alone.

Michigan is the current favorite. They've been top 2 all along from what I've seen, but the other top 2 was dropped (VT) when he named his final 3 of UM, UF, and UA.Any word on a D Hand announcement schedule? I've drifted from recruiting a bit this summer and was surprised Michigan was still in the running.
I'll believe it when I see it. Was over at 247 an hour or so ago trying to read up....Getting Peppers appears to have been a big part of Hand's interest in Michigan. 247 has dozens of analyst predicting top players...currently at 56% UM....28% UA.

So he went home 'sick' after missing meetings....which he is supposed to be a mentor in....and was then spotted out that night in College Station.Johnny Football kicked out of the Manning Passing Academy.
I understand why people defended him when he started getting criticism this offseason, but at this point I think it's obvious that the young man isn't doing a great job handling his success.
