No, but that's what leads me (and a lot of others) to believe there is more going on behind the scenes. A 2-22 record with mostly FCS-level talent is to be expected. But there was a lot of alienation of alums. There was the infamous "boxing/MMA in the snow" video that was making the rounds on Deadspin and other places earlier this fall, even though it wasn't banned at the time it was recorded. And why wait until almost four weeks after the season is over if you are dumping someone based just on record?

All these pre-made bowl tie-ins create bad games. At least next year some committee will set 6 top games if I'm not mistaken. We'll still have this problem on the undercard though.

Terrible move, and I hope he reconsiders. Geno Smith admitted that blowing off the Senior Bowl was a huge mistake. Go to the game, play with the best of the best and show the scouts you have nothing to hide.
