Dorial Green-Beckham is a Sooner.

Nice gamble by Stoops.
Any chance he gets the waiver to play now?Oklahoma looking primed to be a Big 12 CFP rep.
Both he and Ty Issac have waivers pending....if I had to guess (based on my luck), DGB will be granted his despite his transgressions and they'll make Issac sit a year :kicksrock:
So he could potentially play this season? If so then Oklahoma could be the #1 ranked team in the preseason polls.

Anything's possible with the NCAA...fortunately, it doesn't appear we have to worry about preseason polls any longer  Waiting 6ish weeks into the season for committee to release a poll is a great start IMO.

On what grounds are they going to grant DGB his waiver? I can't imagine he will be playing this season at all.

You start on a false premise IMO...that is the NCAA needs "grounds" to make a decision.

What channel on DTv is the SEC network gonna be? Looking...can't find it. Is it suppose to fire up this month or next?
I don't think it is on DirecTV yet....will be following closely.
It's not on DTV yet. The twitter account SEC logo has been poking them about it for months off and on. I imagine the caterwauling will get louder the closer we get to the season.

I'm pretty sure DTV is telling customers to 'just be patient'...they're dotting the i's.

The provider I'm concerned about is Verizon, who no one has heard a peep from on this from what I've seen.

SEC Network launches Aug 14th.

AT&T, Dish Network, Google Fiber have reached agreements.

Time Warner/Comcast, DTV, Suddenlink actively negotiating.

Verizon the big one without any news of late. However, Verizon does carry the LHN...and ESPN is obviously running both.

Called DTv and the person I talked to wasn't aware of any plans, so there's that. Is the channel on any of the providers? I called my cable company (Comporium) and they aren't carrying it (as of today anyway).

Thanks.....seems like they are behind, no? Wonder what's taking so long.

I don't think they are behind. All the news I've heard since last Fall was to expect a mid-to-late summer rush of provider adds.

There is some mixed news, but this article is from today:

http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/09/sec-network-on-pace-for-solid-debut/

The SEC Network is currently scheduled to be available to customers of Verizon FIOS, Dish Network, Google Fiber, AT&T U-Verse and assorted smaller carriage providers throughout the region (Comcast is not a done deal yet, but expected to be finalized before launch). The SEC Network still has to get by the DirecTV hurdle, but there is still time to sort out that one.

Cox was added today, and this says Verizon is already on board...but I'm going to call to confirm.

Cox gets the total to 26 million homes to date.

Price. Pac-12 network still isn't on Directv and that's been over a year, right?

I dunno...DTV didn't add the PAC-12 network or LHN. They're pretty much the 800 pound gorilla of providers. If DTV can boot the Weather Channel and have them crawling back and acceding to their demands (less reality programming), then SEC Network better be prepared to lower what their proposing.

No watchESPN, no Pac-12 network, and maybe no SEC network. And DTV tries to advertise that they're the leader in sports programming?

That's assuming that each of the voting members won't be impacted at all by any of the polls (preseason or pre-week 6). And that's a very strong assumption to make

Directv will be fine as long as they have a monopoly on the Sunday Ticket. Once they lose that they are going out of business.
I'd ditch DTV and the Ticket in about half a second if I can't get the SEC channel. Dish has red zone, so it's a no brainer.

Meh...they can be "impacted" or influenced a little bit. Don't have a problem with that, but not having a poll until well after the conference season is going will help with that. I'm just glad the polls are no longer the cornerstone like they have been.

I don't think AT&T is going out of business, but I guess anything could happen. Here, in my area, it's the cheapest option outside of the sports-less dish network. I don't know many people that actually pay for Sunday Ticket. A 5 minute phone call gets you out of payment pretty easily these days. I thought it was assumed that once AT&T bought Directv, that at minimum it'd probably be available on U-Verse. But, who knows...guess time will tell. I was just surprised the SEC channel wasn't already on the DTv guide with it being so close to time.

Much like Mark Emmert, I don't care about anything outside the Big 5...other than a little USF and UCF.

ESPN World Cup personality Silva with a little SEC-esque statement about how Brazilians will be OK with Argentina winning the Cup, because at least it would reside in South America.
