The Oklahoman's Jason Kersey reported Friday that Oklahoma officials are "very confident" about Dorial Green-Beckham's chances to gain an NCAA waiver to play immediately.

Oklahoma is still waiting on documentation from Missouri before it can file its appeal. But when the Sooners do file, they plain to use the "run-off" waiver, per Kersey, one that was created for players who were removed from programs for reasons "beyond their control."

Green-Beckham's chances of receiving the waiver could be increased by the fact that he wasn't ever charged in the incident that saw him kicked off Missouri's team.

Mizzou's success last year had a lot to do with the pass rush led by Kony Ealy and Michael Sam and the passing game featuring WRs DGB, L'Damian Washington and Marcus Lucas. All are gone, so those are big shoes for them to try to fill. They do however return some good starters, most notably promising QB Maty Mauk who filled in superbly when Franklin was out.

The knock on LSU you will hear is the amount of talent they've lost in the last 2 years, and inexperience at QB. I think they're underrated though...and the schedule is decent.

UGA's issue is defense and that they start with Clemson at @SoCar in the first 3 weeks. They'll swing WAY up quickly if they're 3-0.

Don't know much about Mizzou, other than the loss of DGB and the other top 2 WR...and both DE's.

The reason why I like LSU as a sleeper this year is because of the bones of the team. They lost the QB, RB and two WR big losses for sure. That said the O-Line and most of the D is back.

They will have raw talent at the skill positions. If they gel I think they will be a very scary team. If feel a lot better as Wisconsin playing them in week one compared to A&M who gets LSU in week 14.
