*** Official 2022 Jacksonville Jaguars thread - Drunken Sailors at Mayport Shocked at Jags Spending *** (1 Viewer)

Reports are that Byron doesn't want to work with Balke and wants to bring in Adrian Wilson from AZ as GM.

Now seeing reports of Saints wanting to interview Byron. Let's see if Khan can screw this up royally.
Most recent rumor is Wilson and Leftwich in, Baalke out. Sounds like they're making the right move.

@AdamSchefter: Jaguars are interviewing former Raiders' HC Rich Bisaccia today for their HC job, per sources.

@AdamSchefter: Jaguars wanted to interview Rams' OC Kevin O'Connell but cannot at this time because they didn't request an interview in the initial interview period, per source.

Per source, Jaguars wanted to interview Vince Lombardi but cannot at this time as he is deceased.

So they want Leftwich and Leftwich wants them, just gotta give him his chosen GM.  I sympathize with precedent such a cave might create…but Baalke was responsible for the unmitigated disaster that was Urban Meyer, yes?  Sure seems if that’s the case an entirely new team, not just coach, is warranted

@AdamSchefter: Former Eagles’ HC Doug Pederson is being hired as the next head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, source tells ESPN.

Doug Pederson is a solid coach, but the Jags are probably screwed as long as Baalke is there. Feels like Khan made a blunder keeping Baalke over Leftwich and Wilson. If the seasons under Shad Khan have taught us anything, it's that he'll make the wrong decision each time.

Khan was allegedly asking HC candidates if they could work with Baalke while Baalke was in the room. At least one HC candidate said that he had to dodge the question because he couldn't be honest while Baalke was there.

Packers legend and a great guy.  I always wanted to see more of Pederson under center, but Favre took almost every single snap from scrimmage and kept his backups on the bench.

@JohnOehser: Bruce Smith announces Tony Boselli's election to Pro Football Hall of Fame. Very cool.

@JohnOehser: Former #Jaguars left tackle Tony Boselli named to 2022 Pro Football Hall of Fame class

*First draft selection in franchise history ...

*First player in Pride of the Jaguars ...

*First Jaguars player in Hall of Fame

at least they're throwing money at the right positions

@AdamSchefter: Washington Pro-Bowl guard Brandon Scherff intends to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars, per source.

@RapSheet: The #Jaguars aren’t done. They are expected to sign former #AZCardinals WR Christian Kirk to a large deal, per me and @TomPelissero.

@AaronWilson_NFL: Jaguars are signing defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi, deal is three years, $30 million, repped by @SPORTSTARSNYC

@DanGrazianoESPN: So for all of the hype, Christian Kirk's deal with Jacksonville is really two years, $37 million, all guaranteed and they can cut him after 2023 without owing him any more money. Still a strong number, $18.5M a year. If he's great, $16.5/yr in 24-25 will be a steal.

I was put off by the Zay Jones signing but it looks like a 2 yr / 14 mil deal really

@AaronWilson_NFL: Zay Jones (Jaguars) three years, $24M, $14M gtd, $5.5M signing bonus, salaries $1.5M (gtd), $7M (gtd), $7M; annual $1M incentives; up to $500K annual in per game active roster bonuses

It's been said elsewhere, but it's a bad sign when looking for a positive spin on a team's moves the first thing that comes up is how quickly they can get away from them.

@RapSheet: Darious Williams is coming home: The #Ram CB is expected to sign with the #Jaguars, source said, his hometown. He gets a 3-year deal worth $30M — $39M max. $18M fully guaranteed. He had higher offers, but chose home. Deal done by Damarius Bilbo & Kelton Crenshaw of

Damn, taking a big risk in Walker with that 1st pick.  Sounds like there's big disagreement on it between Doug, The Owner, and The GM and that the GM wins.
