*** Official 2022 PGA Tour Thread - Memorial Tournament, LIV list leaked- It's all Paulina's Fault **** (2 Viewers)

supposed to be quite windy late tomorrow afternoon - he’s in the third to last group

when he’s striking it solid he’s very adept at flighting the ball low

good challenge to gauge where he’s at rn

I think one of tomorrow's morning group make a BIG move before the winds stir up (if the winds don't stir up).

DJ maybe...Brooksie maybe....

Gonna be fun if his body holds up.  Unfortunately I'm not going to see much of it after today.  Wife's cousin getting married in VA and we're making a week long trip out of it.

Maybe I can talk her into a long stop at a bar on Sunday afternoon.
Where in VA are you going?

"Featured Groups" and "Amen Corner" and such, yeah?
interestingly, it was Featured Groups in name only

that's usually straight trash, right? like I'm only interested in 6 golfers (two groups of 3)? but at the Masters they send it around like a normal telecast, it's just you have like 2 or 3 B team broadcasters. and sometimes it's literally it's crickets and birds chirping for 30-90 seconds, just watching golf without commentary (not sure why.)

The last newly crowned OWGR #1 to make his debut as the top ranked player the Masters? Ian Woosnam, 1991. Won the tournament.

Scheffler caught a bit of a break with TW making his comeback this week. Took a lot of the spotlight off him.

I like Cam Smith (-4), Scheffler, Niemann (both -3) or Cantlay (-2.) Think we'll have a first time major winner this week.

Man was Chamblee ripping on DJ last night, saying he got lucky to go that low due to some breaks off bad shots.  He went so far to put up his swing from earlier in the year (Genesis) and claim nothing's really changed and that today was more or less a fluke.  Both other analysts disagreed and considered him a threat, based on his experience (and talent of course) and finding his game of late, including some recent rounds the last couple tourneys.  Chamblee ripped on those rounds too.

I don't have DJ in my golf pool but if I lose, boy would I love to see Brandy eat his words, that pompous d-bag.

Yesterday morning early (or Wed night late) he said DJ was past his window, has lost his club head speed and distance advantage, and wouldn’t be consistently elite again. He’s not just pompous…he’s dumb.

Oh, almost forgot, since both other analysts disagreed and Brandy was bristling, the main analyst, jokingly said to Brandy that he's sitting in between a 6'4" guy and a former rugby player (or something of the sort), just for laughs.  Chamblee actually got all defensive and brought up that he could out-drive both of them any day or some ridiculous insecure thing like that.  It wasn't even on topic, he just couldn't take a joke, like playground ####.

Well, well, I can outdrive you guys so there!!! :lmao:

I have accepted for a while that Golf Network pays Brandel to be their Skip Bayless / Stephen A and I give what he says the same weight (or lack thereof) accordingly

My Tiger prediction - Starts limping more and shoots 75 (in terrible conditions) which isn't much higher than average round today and makes cut. Announces afterwards that his leg isn't ready for 2 more days of this and WD.

Might it get too windy for balls to rest on these bikini waxed greens? I hope these players know the Keegan Bradley rule.

Maybe the late starters get a break and play Saturday morning?

BACK TO BACK SHOTS into the Observation bleachers to the right of the green on 5  :lmao:

I dunno. He’s so inconsistent with his wedge.  Too much spin. Doesn’t take anything off. Should be throwing darts from that range. Biggest weakness
Good point...funny GC just said he was using a ball this week with less spin to control that more.  I just think if Sergio can do it...Rory can too.

Almost everyone struggling, and conditions expected to worsen. A little too US Open-ish for me but interesting regardless

Watching Billy Horschel play makes me enjoy golf less.

Have you seen the time he lectured a spectator about how there was a reason he (Billy) was on one side of the ropes and the spectator was not.  You know, because he (Billy) has a very special talent.  Might be on YouTube, hilarious.

I've been twice on a weekday (Thurs)...both during Tiger's prime in mid 00's...spent a few hrs each time on the 8 tee up close.  There are at least 3X as many people on that tee watching him today as then.

What a nozzle.

Guy should have channeled Churchill and said "Yes, but tomorrow there will be no rope...and you'll still be a jerk."

Ugly double on 18 for Spieth to miss cut then ESPN cuts to an ATT commercial with Spieth on couch watching TV.

Art imitates Life imitates Art.

JT charging...so many big names now in this, but all really depending on how Scottie plays the back.

welp

that was an impressive clinic

tied for the biggest 36 hole lead in Masters history

After the second round of the Masters, the biggest deficit erased by a winner is 8 shots by Jack Burke Jr. in 1956.

Tiger is 9 back

I kid, I kid
