*** Official 2022 PGA Tour Thread - Memorial Tournament, LIV list leaked- It's all Paulina's Fault **** (2 Viewers)

Grew up with a mom who dragged her 4 kids around the Midwest as a proud member of Arnie's Army in his competitive-but-not-a-threat-in-majors era. Saw him win at Firestone CC (The American Golf Classic) and the US Senior Open in the 2nd season of the Senior Tour.

Watching ceremonial golfer Tiger Woods >>>> 95% of the field

Englishman Daniel Brown is ranked 229th in the OWGR, has one tournament win (in a now defunct event), and is playing in his first major

bogey free 65 to become the Day 1 leader at The Open

pretty good day

Why aren’t we debating the ridiculous results of the terrain from these Open courses vs Pinehurst, etc? I haven’t seen a putt into a trap…but I’ve seen several chips into much more extreme traps.

Justin Rose just won't die. Where does he rank among the all time single major winners? Might be top 5?

Because of tiger mostly he's probably the only wgr #1 with just 1 in the last 20 or so I bet.

Scott…Day…
Ah. Day. Yeah thought he had two.
I don't think Day belongs in that conversation. He had major back surgery at 28 and never really was the same afterwards. I think without the back issues that started in his mid 20s, he'd have won multiple majors easily IMO.

Hatton dropping F bond after hitting his 25 yrd pitch (3rd shot) 18 yards over the other side

knocks shot 4 23’ past

double (still has the honor on Homa)

they’re celebrating Rory making 6 straight pars; first three 9s:
  • 38 (+3)
  • 40 (+4)
  • 42 (+6)

Question. Can you watch Peacock sports after the fact/on delay, or only live? I am in between cancelling Sling last month and starting up Fubo next month for football. In between, I've been able to catch as much golf as I need between Paramount and Peacock, for the most part. The only downside is not being able to record, as far as I'm aware (but I'm admittedly not a tech genius, so I may be missing something).

My picks this week are brutal.

Rory
Aberg
Scott
Finau
Theegala
Bryson

Five MC's and Scott, who was right in the mix after yesterday, but had to battle down the stretch (-1 on last 5 holes) just to make the weekend by a shot or two.

Speaking of battling, sounds like McIntyre played his butt off today. After starting the round +8 through 4 (and +9 overall), he seemed dead in the water, only to finish the last 14 holes at 4-under. Very impressive, especially considering how seemingly everyone else with late tee times were plummeting down the leaderboard.

Duval is another…fell off the mental cliff instead of physical.
I was a big Duval guy back in the day. I kept waiting for the day he was going to get back on top of his game and then I heard or read him say that he enjoys fly fishing just as much as golf but there is no pressure fly fishing (or something very close to that) I knew he would never be a top golfer again.

They have replays available for all of Peacock’s sports content after coverage ends….

…except The Open Championship.

I think a few guys took up different hobbies when Tiger arrived.

What did spieth take up when tiger left?

The Open on Sirius may be the best radio broadcast in sports. Really smooth and off-the-cuff hilarious. Perfect for a 6-hr drive.

Realized the other day both Phil and Tiger have won majors since the last time Jordan or Rors won a grand slam event
