Roberts has to not be Roberts to close this out. If he starts Knack it's a problem. The guy has lost his fastball and elevates everything. He has the ability to get Soto and Judge hot and make this a 6 or 7 game series. Casperius or Honeywell would be better decisions.

Mets or Padres would be doing same thing. Yankees had an easy path to WS. Honestly those two teams' pitching would have a better chance to close this out in 4 or 5

What a play at home plate!
Stanton is a sloth……lol you kidding me. As soon as he rounded third he was dead in the rights.

Anyone else in that lineup including Rizzo is scoring.
That was as bad of base coaching as I have seen. Down three runs with no momentum why not keep him at 3rd and give the batter a chance to tie the game. Stanton slowed up around 3B because he figured there was no way in hell he was going to be sent. Just an asinine, boneheaded base coaching decision.

He slowed up? :ROFLMAO: That's him sprinting.

So… freeman mvp?

No doubt. I don’t even know who the #2 would be.
Edman
To me he is “the” story of this entire post season.
With all of the talk of the Dodgers being in desperate need of a shortstop this offseason and whether they'll go after Willy Adames and let Teoscar Hernandez walk, I think they've found their shortstop. Extend Edman, give him the everyday SS job, and re-sign Teoscar.

Yep @Gally

That’s Stanton Speed man. He can’t run.

Oh I know he can't run but you could see it on his face as he was planning to stop and then saw the coach waving him in and he was flabbergasted and you could see it on his face.

As a Giants fan, I'm just going to say 1988* one more time before it goes away forever.
Oh no you’re not one of those 2020 deniers are you

I promised last night to retire the bit and I'm going to stick to that
How's it feel being replaced by the Padres as a rival? Giants haven't been relevant since Candlestick closed.
You in a coma for 2010-2014? Three titles in 5 years.

Suck it dodgers

Edman
Edman has better stats and some defensive gems. Freddie has the memorable HR. Totally should be Edman but likely won't.

ETA: I was looking at full playoff stats vs WS but it's still somewhat close. So I'd have to change should above to could.
I hope Edman goes 4-4 tonight with 2 HRs in a win to make it interesting

Edman has played around the equivalent of a full season at SS throughout his career with below average fielding metrics at the position.

He's a very useful player in a utility role and a good successor to ****. He's signed for another year and could play short as a stop gap measure but I think LA needs to bolster that position because their best MI prospects are several years away.

ETA: Mlb.com has SS Alex Freeland listed as the Dodgers #3 prospect but he seems like another Trey Sweeney type to me.

I never knew he was that slow. Man

I am shocked he didn't hurt himself

Candlestick closed in 2014. Exactly.

Giants hadn't played there since 1999?

Dodgers going with a bullpen game with the lower end of their bullpen. Danger here is if Casperius and Honeywell can't get through 5 or so, Landon Knack has been elevating his fastball and has lost velocity. Exactly the type of guy who could heat up the bats of the Yankees that haven't been hitting, especially Judge. They lose this one, they face Cole who has been dealing in game 5, then they are looking at having to win game 6 or it becomes a game 7 where anything can happen. Weird that a 3-0 lead is kind of a must-win.

After the National Anthem Yankees are going to bring out a guy that plays drums on home depot buckets on the subway.
