The Giants lineup seems suspect too.
Any gambling today?
Went over on the SF/NY game 6.5 -113. I dunno, just curious to see if the new rules leads to some more scoring plus I'm not sure Cole and Webb are going to dominate the line-ups they face. We'll see.

I think they might lose 90 games this yearThe Giants lineup seems suspect too.
I have Gray on the squad let's have a breakout season kid! He’s starting Opening Day, but I see that more as Martinez going with a vet than him being their #1. Gore or Gray probably more like best pitcher — still sucky, but not Corbin level sucky.I play in a pretty deep fantasy league and I haven't even heard of a few of these dudes and Patrick Corbin is their number 1The Nats game is Spring Training? That can't be their regular 162 game lineup, can it?This Nationals lineup![]()

They'll have to lower the mound at some point. Don't know what else they can do.thru 4 innings at yankee stadium. 19/24 outs via strikeout. shrink the bases and make bats bigger, like those fat whiffle ball bats.

Strike zone is already as small as it's ever been.

Can't argue with the analytics, but this is what you get when you apply the results. I think it's crummy baseball from a viewing perspective, but it's efficient for scoring runs.But.....analytics!Put more emphasis on hitting things other than home runs. They'll have to lower the mound at some point. I think the analytics will shift because of the drastic increase in K's by everyone and the batting averages going down to where eventually baserunners and not striking out will bump run production. There is always going to be an ebb and flow. The difficult part is that the HR mentality is starting to get taught in youth leagues so starting from a young age players are not learning how to hit.....just swing from the heels with launch angle for dingers. So I am not sure how it will actually turnaround.Move the fences back as far as it takes to change the analysis to restore balance. But I don't think the powers that be want balance, they want home runs and strike outs.
I'm not so sure. Sub .200 batting averages are accepted now instead of ridiculed - how much lower does it have to go? Runs haven't dropped off significantly.I think the analytics will shift because of the drastic increase in K's by everyone and the batting averages going down to where eventually baserunners and not striking out will bump run production. I don't think the analytics have caught up yet either. There is always going to be a lag because it is based on historical data so it takes some time. I am not sure how much and maybe they have already accounted for that somehow. I just think (maybe it's more of a hope) that eventually getting basehits and not striking out will come back into style so the game isn't just a two outcome game because that would suck.I'm not so sure. Adley Rutschman? More like Adley CRUTSCHman!
This kid is going to win an MVP or 2 before he turns 30. Bank it.

Cole with 8 Ks through 3 and god am I stupid.![]()
I'm cautiously optimistic the new SB and shift friendly rules are gonna curb some of this dynamic, but it's not gonna be instant.i mean, all sports change, but is baseball just Ks and Hrs now, kind of like the NBA is just guys heaving 45 3 point shots a night?
Good luck to your Royals! Except when they play the Twins! GO TWINS!!!Indeed. Royals are gonna stink but I'll watch every game anyway. No matter my age, today feels like Spring and a Holiday.
I have 170 lineups goin in DK.Any gambling today?

Also put a ML Parlay together of Phil/Sf - $25 pays $112
I got other stuff too, but these are the early ones. BASEBALL!!!!
They're not always +EVFYI - fanduel has super boosts out there based on everyone's local market. Obviously some will miss, but they're all +EV.
i agree that the mound needs to be lowered.MLB should increase the field dimensions if it wants to stop the 3-true outcomes game. Everybody's been getting bigger, faster, stronger for 150 years and the field is the same size. It's like letting teenagers play Little League now.
The pitching distance was set to 60-6 in 1893, when a guy who could throw 90 and knew how to make a baseball curve was an ace. Today you need a fastball that sits at 95 and a breaking ball designed in a physics lab just to be a middle reliever. I watch some of these Pitching Ninja overlays of 100 MPH fastballs and 90 MPH sliders that look exactly the same until the hitter starts their swing and wonder how the league batting average isn't like .073.
Every Friday home game this year but since today was their 25th anniversary they broke them out.Did the Rays go back to the Devil Rays? Or are they just wearing a throw back jersey?
White Sox are right behind them with 10 LOB and 0-7 w/ RISP through 8.Well, I am glad to see my Twins have picked up right where they left off last year. 12 runners LOB and good ol Kepler 0-5 with 5 LOB.

Which local super boosts weren't today? They're not always +EVFYI - fanduel has super boosts out there based on everyone's local market. Obviously some will miss, but they're all +EV.

But they still made stupid mistakes and frankly were lucky to win.A couple of takes from the Chicago games yesterday.
- the Cubs are totally pitching and defense.
- the White Sox won a game they wouldn’t have last season.
Sox? Probably true, but they may have improved 5-10 games with a competent manager. they have too much talent to underachieve, but they have to stay healthy also. But they still made stupid mistakes and frankly were lucky to win.A couple of takes from the Chicago games yesterday.

That's what everyone is saying and thinking...but again, if you watched the game and the mistakes...they were identical to last year. Cease was magical for the innings he pitched and the bull pen looks good.Sox? This! How are there only 5 games today? Get everyone excited and then limit the number of games the day after???
I can't watch/hear the Orioles where I live (unless they are on ESPN or Fox, which hasn't happened in 400 years). I only stream TV and I am considered "in-market" - even though I live 120 miles away from Baltimore with another MLB team in between - so I can't even stream the radio broadcast, with no OTA radio stations broadcasting near enough to pick up.Adley Rutschman? More like Adley CRUTSCHman!
