And as an aside…. why will Tatis miss time this year?

Hopefully for the next 20, at least then there’s something to get excited about. Otherwise it looks like it did for my other 30+ years of fandom with them, hopeless. He’ll miss time for some soft tissue injury that will last far longer then it should. But in the 120 games he does play he’ll be one of the best in the game and likely hit between 30-40 HR’s.
You are forgetting he is missing the start of the season due to PED suspension. That's besides his usual injury games missed

It'll take some time for players to adjust, which is what spring training and exhibition ball is for, but speeding up the game is the right move. I know I am not alone in being someone who has largely tuned out of baseball because of how long and boring the game had become.

Was it a pitch clock or hitter's clock? Both sides. The slow pace of play makes its way to the youth levels. It is a good thing for the game.

Angels win 7 to 0. Rendon and Drury each hit massive blasts on b2b pitches.
Joyce for the Angels threw some massive heat. I've heard 100 to 105. He was 3rd round pick last year. Won't be surprised if closes out of camp.

The batter has to be ready with 8 seconds left on the clock, or it is a strike. They get one timeout though.

Why...because some of us had no problem with the pace of baseball the last 100 years?
Give me a break.
They are not going to gain any new fans with the rules changes.....your not convincing an entire generation that a 2.5 hour baseball game is better than a 2:45 or even 3 hour game.
Hit better, more contact, more base stealing.....hence the banning of the shift (good rule change to get offense back in the game instead of this 3 outcome nightmare we have now) the larger bases....which help base stealers.....however the pick off move rule is troublesome. That is a chess match that casual fans simply don’t understand.
Just wait till the regular season when things get serious......Spring training is nothing like the regular season.

The pitch clock is fine actually.....but the pickoff rule is ridiculous, ghost runners are a joke ( this is not sunday beer can softball for god’s sake) and the three batter minimum on new pitchers is also.....ridiculous.
All to appease an ADD society.....it’s too bad. Baseball was just fine. Apparently it’s so good they can dole out a stupid extensions and sign ridiculous contracts with unproven 16 year old players every year.
Anyway.....glad baseball is back.....I always watch....literally every day. Nothing better for me than baseball (high school, college and pro)
Yet we have a country watching 3.5-4 hour football games with a zillion commercial breaks. And 20 replays......it is painful....really painful. That is crap to me.
What’s going to happen in the baseball post season....the tension mounting and hanging on every pitch......your gonna put a f***ing clock on that? Really? Blasphemy.
I dare people to simply relax and go to a live baseball game (it blows away the sh*t show that is live NFL Football)......there are no clocks in baseball...no deadlines. 27 outs. And if it is tied....you keep going till it’s not. As pure as it gets.

Long-time Rays radio man Dave Wills passed away last night at 58.
I was lucky to get to know Dave, but he was one of those guys everyone seems to know. He wore his love for life, baseball, and his Rays on his sleeve. RIP big guy.

what's the insider word on Massey at 2B? I am in a baseball draft and looking to add him cheap as a flyer. Seems to have good power/speed combo from what I have read. Thoughts from the KC expert?One more week until opening day.
