Funny how the Tokyo games were both considered Cubs home games. Didn’t look like it based on all the Dodger gear there. You’d think it would have made sense to have each team be the home team once.

As I understand it, Cubs were compensated for home games. Whether MLB or the Cubs chose it, I don't know, but they got more money for giving up 2 games at Wrigley.

The Dodgers did not want to give up a home date. It was a dealbreaker. They held all the leverage with Ohtani and Yamamoto and now Sasaki.

The Cubs also had some leverage with Suzuki and Imanaga. I would imagine that Rob Manfred cut them a check for what revenue they usually pull in with a full house.

There has also been theories amongst Cubs homers that Wrigley Field might get consideration for the All-Star game as a token of gratitude. It has been since 1990 when the immortal Jack Armstrong was the NL starter that the Cubs hosted the game.

Their scheduling has been questionable for a while. I've been complaining about late playoff starts for years. Hey MLB, wonder why popularity is dropping and kids are leaving baseball to play other sports? May have something to do with playoff games starting so late that kids can't even watch them.

I’ve always believed baseball should have one afternoon game a day, every day. There’s 15 games on the schedule daily! Slap a 12:30-1 game on there for the gambling addicts and people at home.

Going to the Dodgers v Angels in Anaheim tonight. Its weird going to a spring training game after one of the teams has already played 2 regular season games.... but here we are.

So this game had it all! Been awhile since I saw an appeal play at 1st for missing the bag on a double. Dustin May pitching a 1 hitter, while also hitting 2 Angel batters.
3 hits total for both teams going into the 9th. Wild pitch with the bases loaded. Kenley Jensen now pitching for the Angels and striking out Chris Taylor. HR by Will Smith. Dodger players with no names on their shirts! Was a lot of fun.

I dunno what to expect out of Baltimore this season. Their injury list to start isn't optimal, led by Henderson, Rodriguez, and Bradish. And they don't have Corbin Burns anymore. They'll hit but, as always, pitching will be their make-or-break item.
