Hats off to the Jays. Stacking up a lot better than I thought against essentially an all star team.
Jays strength top to bottom in the lineup showing tonight. Dodgers more elite at the top, but Jays don’t really have some of the easy out’s at the bottom that the Dodgers have.

Their pitching has been better than advertised as well. Their depth is impressive.

Such a great story. He looks so comfortable out of the pen.

For those that haven't watched the Jays much, last night is another prime example of their season. Decent to excellent starting pitching - Bieber was really good after the 2nd inning - a clutch blast, or two, and key hits from one, or more guys at the bottom of the order. You just never know when they are going to go off. Gimenez has provided way more offensively than he did all year. Hopefully George can come back but I kinda like Bo as DH right now. Toronto will be a madhouse on Friday regardless of tonight's outcome.
:excited:

Hopefully Yesavage finds that splitter early tonight since the bullpen needs some rest, especially Varland. You want to minimize having to use Fisher or Little, while picking your spots with Fluharty. IKS is good defensively, but his bat is a liability so it would be awesome if Springer can be healthy and start.

The Bassitt Hound has been sensational so far in the postseason. Hoffman and Lauer have looked great as well.

I haven’t watched much baseball in the past few years, but even in that amount of time it’s amazing to see how many new places they’ve managed to stick advertising. Uniforms, helmets, mound, any vertical surface, and little 30 jobs during play.

And I understand it, that’s how en****ification works. But it does make me appreciate that this forum is perhaps my last refuge from intrusive advertising. I know FBG takes a financial hit for not pursuing that, so I wanted to just let @Joe Bryant know how much I really appreciate that.

Great sentiment. The kind of sentiment that could find its way into a Hallmark card.

Best start by a rookie SP in World Series history?
I remember Derek Holland had a nasty start against the Cardinals in the World Series, but turns out that was actually his third year in the league.

Yamamoto had a good start in last year's series (even though it's kind of cheaty to include him), but definitely not as good as Yesavage's.

Madison Bumgarner has a case. 8ip 3h 0r 2bb 6k. More innings and no runs, but less ks, depends on how you look at it I suppose.

Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez. 7ip 6h 1r 3bb 7k. Yesavage clearly better.

Blake Snell looks very unhealthy.
Mans looking like he’s coming off a multiple day bender lol
Always looks like that. I was surprised after they interviewed him for the NLCS they told him he could go drink with the guys now and he flatly said, "I don't drink".

Maybe he partakes in other stuff but doubt that, they usually go together. I could see him having hit it hard when he was younger and being an AA guy now or whatever. Like someone got through to him to save his career. But even then, he couldn't have had enough time to have that much long term damage on his mug.

Just born with a bender face I guess.

I cannot stand it, this slow, endless unfolding of milking every last penny from every last thing. The sneak attack commercials during key moments are now #1 on my list.

I remember years ago, first seeing Wrigley Field, of all places, finally cave with billboards behind the plate (and elsewhere). And that's when I knew, nothing's sacred, it's over.

Hockey surrounding the rink with digital ads infuriates me as well. All of it. I used to laugh at euro soccer jerseys sponsored by everything. You couldn't even find a team name on there.

And yeah, big props to @JoeBryant. Awesome of him to resist.

Did the Jays "rope a dope" the Dodgers in Game 3? Took LA 18 innings to squeak out the win and they haven't looked the same since. They are an older team and haven't rebounded as well as the Jays.
The Dodgers had their 1 through 7 hitters in for all 18 innings.
The Blue Jays replaced Kirk, Bichette, Barger and Springer (due to injury) before the game went 9 innings iirc.

This is likely a big contributing factor to why the Dodgers won game 3 though. Is it one of those things where they won the battle but not the war?......One more Jay win to find out.

I think Kirk came out in the 12th, but yeah, probably a factor. I certainly think it had to affect Smith. Catching 18 innings, then another 9 just 16 hours later. He's 1 for 8 since. The day off should help them so they can't make excuses if they lose now. I'm looking at you Snell. Mr. I don't make excuses but...

Game 6 lineup changes for LA. Betts moved down to fourth. Miguel Rojas gets the start at 2B taking the Pages/Call hole in the order. Edman and his bad ankle shifts to center.

Springer will play because quite honestly they'll need all the help they can get vs the beast that is Yamamoto.

Meanwhile Gausman will essentially throw his fastball and splitter, that slider is bad on most days. He will have be lights out tonight.

Springer has no business being in there tonight. Every swing he took on the 1st at bat looked like he was taking a punch. Edit, well he just smoked one to the gap to score a run. I can appreciate him gutting it out
