2-6-10-15-17-27

my bottom 3 riders have like 41 points lol

Alternating between two mountains today, 6 Cat 1 climbs. Almost 2/3rds of today's stage is either uphill or downhill

The climbs today:

KM Climb Length Avg. %

4.4 Ściana Harnaś 1.8 7.9
39 Ściana Bukovina 2.5 8

52.3 Ściana Harnaś 1.8 7.9
87 Ściana Bukovina 2.5 8
100.2 Ściana Harnaś 1.8 7.9
134.9 Ściana Bukovina 2.5 8

🇵🇱 Situation 🇵🇱

Those 9 riders should all get breakaway points today - Kooij has dropped back to the peloton but was in the breakaway at 50%

With 2 climbs remaining, Timo gobbled up all the KOM today and has already clinched the jersey provided he finishes the race

gap is 1:02 so doesn't seem as if they'll make it to the finish

Obviously the Tour de Pologne is highly regarded contest, one of only 7 weeklong stage races, quality start-list, been around 97 years, the most important bike race of the year in Eastern Europe, et al.

But every year I find the 4-stage Arctic Race of Norway to be so much more enjoyable - by an order of magnitude IME. The vistas as they go up and down the mountains surrounding the fjords is absolutely stunning.

2 DNS for my squad today: Sheffield and Hayter.

McNulty with a 2nd place finish.

What an acceleration, scrub from INEOS blew McNulty away

10th and 15th today, plus 2 in the breakaway

ITT should be fun - I’ve got a few good ones but 2 riders out now - Vacek was the 2nd best TT specialist coming & Hayter was 3rd, so definitely could screw it up on the last stage.

My 4 best TTers still in the race came in ranked 12-16-17-23 amongst the startlist. Really hurts losing 2 & 3 but stuff happens eh.

Holy DNS list

Didn’t realize Finn Fisher-Black didn’t appear at the start line. He’s on my revised enemies list.

Pretty tight battle for the podium; good luck everyone!

🥇 1st – The Polish Mistake (2048 pts)
From a name that sounds like an Eastern European hangover cure to somehow winning the whole damn thing, Sand basically ran a two-man death squad (McNulty & Tiberi) while the other seven guys were on an extended Polish sightseeing holiday. This was less “fantasy cycling strategy” and more “strap yourself to two rockets and pray they don’t crash.”

🥈 2nd – Squeaky Wheels (2041 pts)
Cheeseypoof loses by seven points — which is exactly how many functioning vertebrae were left on the roster by Stage 6. McNulty tried to drag this dumpster fire to victory, but you can’t win a Grand Tour when half your team is filing worker’s comp claims from the team bus.

🥉 3rd – Sand’s Saddle Sores (1781 pts)
BassNBrew followed the well-known “one superstar and eight guys who look good in kit photos” approach. McNulty was the only one racing; the rest seemed to be using their GPS head units to find the nearest pub. By Stage 5, they had more DNS than a Wi-Fi dead zone.

4th – RB Brownwings WGUAFC (1728 pts)
Jaysus built a roster like a discount meat platter — a couple of decent cuts (Tiberi, Bettiol) surrounded by mystery meat. Somehow Budziński stumbled into KOM points, which was shocking since the team’s usual climbing form is “needs a chair lift.”

5th – Armstrong’s Needle (1702 pts)
Yeah, the name is a doping joke. The performance? More “2012 comeback Lance” — all hype, no legs, and a lot of awkward media moments. This squad was so flat they could have been used to level the road surface.

6th – Boerum Hill Big Ringing (1643 pts)
BobbyLayne started strong, then bled riders like an overripe bag of groceries. By Stage 6, the survivor count was lower than a budget horror flick, and Vermeersch was left riding solo while the rest of the squad “recovered” with pierogies and beer.

Interesting. No Visma or UAE for Circuit Franco Belge. Lots of continental and Pro Teams. Only 7 World Teams.

I presume no one picked up early breakaway points today?

At the 50% mark:

Situation

Of course, the scoring system for one day races has 3 more opportunities to pick up 30 points:
  • The second Breakaway Points Sector is based at 50km to go.
  • The third Breakaway Points Sector is based at 20km to go.
  • The fourth Breakaway Points Sector is based at 10km to go.

Top 30 get points (+ breakaways + assists)
