Official 2025 Professional Golf thread - Disappointing Ryder. Disappointing fans. Disappointing captains performance. (1 Viewer)

So...while Keegs sticks with THE PLAN!! that was built over months of analysis...
Why didn't he play? Making adjustments in game is what Coaches do. I think he could squeeze some golf into what he's doing all day.

Mind-boggling that he would double-down on what is probably the worst decision of the week.

Reporter: "Keegan, did you realize that the analytics show that the English/Morikawa pairing was the worst possible pairing out of 132 combinations?"

Keegan: "We've got our own data. And they're really excited to go back out there tomorrow." :doh:

I stopped watching for sure. Got better things to do. When ratings are near zero, matching the drama level, for tomorrow's matches, I wonder if the powers that be will re-think a few things about the team and make. Meh. On to the next thing.

Which is why McNealy should have been on this team. Top 10 in the standings, top 5 putter for many years, and top 20 this season. Morikawa is by far the worst ranked putter in at this event. He is 141 in putting. Schaufele is bad too.

If you aren't taking the best putters, then the rough should have been 5 inches long. Which makes Morikawa and Henley more relevant.
 
These guys suck. Somehow forgot this was a Ryder cup year. Tuned in and down in 3/4 matches and 5. Have they ever not played Sunday
 
So apparently if they decide hovland can't go tomorrow, keegan just gets to pull his worst player but the match is deemed a draw.

How does that make sense? Obviously not the way you want to win (not that we're gonna win) but man that's a dumb rule.

Read something earlier that said if they were going to shorten the rough and take the teeth out of the course to make it a putting contest, you better be able to putt.

Wow. That's dumb, and could lead to shenanigans. Why wouldn't they give each team an alternate in case of injury?
 
Obviously the US can't putt to save their lives but man the Europeans just have a bunch of killers. Fleetwood, rose, Lowry, mcclroy, Rahm. Just impressive play in front of a hostile crowd.

Fleetwood is a dawg that appears to love this format. Glad he got his PGA tour win but can't believe he hasn't won more.

Well.. Maybe you should watch. Not sure what the USA could do this weekend. They are just getting outplayed by the European Team..

50% of his decisions were bad. Why was he the coach? He’s not even a popular guy….has a rep as arrogant…which showed.

This year should have been Phil, pre-shrooms.
