Official 6th Pick Overall Thread (1 Viewer)

Sorry if there is already one out there, if there is you can just redirect me, I searched and may not have gotten the correct context or whatever, but nonetheless if there isn't one, here it is.

10 team league for me, got the 6th pick.

Our scoring goes 20 pts passing is a point and 6 for TDs. RBs/WR/TE get .1 for each yard and then 6 for a TD as well.

I don't wanna take a QB in the first 3 rounds because I feel there is good value at QB in rounds 4-7, not great, but good. Guys like Ryan, Romo, Rivers, Vick, Mannings, etc

At number 6 I am just confused, I am leaning towards Chris Johnson but hoping an elite falls to me if someone jumps the gun on a QB top 5. But should McFadden be considered at 6 even with his injury concerns? That is the only thing holding me back from him right now.

As for the 2nd round I've been targeting WRs like Julio Jones, but unless a RB is there (Charles?)

What are your guys' plans for the 6 spot?

Already a thread on this, but here is my 2 cents:

I also drafted 6th in a 10 team 0.5 PPR league this weekend. Rice, McCoy, Foster, Calvin and Rodgers were all gone. I took Mcfadden and Forte in the 1st and 2nd rounds and then Julio and Jordy in the 3rd and 4th, setting my team up with solid RBs and WRs. Targeted Matt Ryan late and got him in the 8th,..... best advice I can give is analyze other teams when you pick. If teams 7-10 all have QBs, its more likely you can pick a RB or WR on your first snake run in the 7th round and get a QB on the turn around in the 8th....

I think McFadden has more upside and when he plays your almost always guaranteed numbers. CJ can play, but sometimes puts up stinky games....

Same setup except .5 PPR. Amazing how different leagues vary. I noted above where your players went in my draft.I went:CalvinSJaxMatthewsD. MartinS. JohnsonWayneBenF. Davis

Last Week. 12 team NON-PPR 6 pts ALL TDs

1st Brees

2nd McFadden

3rd Julio

4th Colston

5th Bradshaw

6th Finley

7th Greene

8th Little

9th D. Wilson

10th D. Moore

11th Tamme

12th Freeman

13th Jeffery

14th Kevin Smith(thank you Yahoo default rankings and unaware drafters)

15th NYG

16th Hartley

I had the 6th pick in a 10-team....4 pt passing TD, 6 pt others, normal yardage scoring, TE mixed with WR.

I went in knowing I was taking Calvin or Brady, in that order.

I was also targeting RB in the 2-4....WR after that. Thats where I saw the best value in mocks.

It went like this:

1.06 - Brady

2.04 - Murray

3.06 - Richardson

4.04 - Martin

5.06 - Harvin

6.04 - VJax

7.06 - JStewart

8.04 - Lloyd

9.06 - Spiller

10.04 - DHB

11.06 - M Bush

12.04 - D Moore

RBs fell a little further than I saw in mocks....and got some solid value late.

Chris Johnson was taken 5th so it was between Calvin, Brees, or McFadden. I knew that Peyton would slip in my league as the only other player that would wait on a QB is a huge redskins fan and was eyeing RGIII late, so I took Peyton in the 8th (if he is really back to the old peyton, might be an amazing pick up) and backed him up with Russell Wilson. As far as McFadden goes, I grabbed Taiwan a little early, but I believe he's a good one cut runner and will do well in OAK. I hated my draft after the first 2 rounds, but I was pleased I was able to get a decent RB core + some RB lottery tickets later on. Dwill will aid my MJD anxiety for the first few weeks./hoping MJD to the lions :)

Got the 6th pick as well...

If all goes according to Hoyle, and it usually never does...

Here are my top 5 - if any of these fall to 6th I will take them.

1) Foster

2) Rice

3) McCoy

4) Rodgers

5) Calvin Johnson

So........now who at 6?

McFadden, Chris Johnson, or Brady / Brees

MJD would be a very risky pick

At tad reach to take Brady, but perhaps the safest pick, yet compromising quality top tier RB's who appear to be in short supply.

I think I am leaning DMC or CJ2K over Brady right now just because it will limit my options later in the draft in rounds say 2-5 or so. How has your teams looked going with a QB first opposed to a RB?
