*Official* 6th pick thread (1 Viewer)

12 team redraft with PPR. RB's-.4pts rec.,WR's-.7pts. rec., TE's- 1 pt. rec. I'm in the 6th hole. My team so far.QB's- Eli Manning, Joe FlaccoRB's- Jamaal Charles,Jahvid Best, DeAngelo Williams, Jason Snelling,Kendall HunterWR's- Greg Jennings, Stevie Johnson, Jacoby Ford, Roy Williams, Jerome Simpson, Brandon Gibson,Eddie RoyalTE's- Vernon Davis,Jared CookPK- Neil Rackers(week 11 bye so I only need 1 PK)DEF- NY JetsI found out from this draft, with these guys, drafting from the 6th spot had me missing out on guys I was targeting. They were either going just before my pick in the odd rounds and just before my pick coming back in the even rounds.Earlier I was thinking the Roy Williams was a good pick, not so much now. Gotta hope he understands the playbook better and starts to click with Cutler or Knox will surely start over Roy. I'm not liking that pick at all right now. Woulda liked to have had that one back.
I don't think that's bad at all for a tough 12 man league. If Best or Ford go off, you could package them for a nice QB upgrade and you're set.
Thanks. It is a tough group of guys to draft against. My final 2 picks were, (17.07)-RB Kendall Hunter and (18.06)-WR Eddie Royal. I'm excited about Royal. He's listed as a starter and #2 behind Lloyd. I know he'll get pushed by Decker but I can see him having a good year even if Fox runs the hell out of the ball. I don't see him exploding like he did his rookie year but I think 600-700 yds/5 td's is possible. In FFTOOLBOX's top 200 players he's listed at 106. I like Hunter as well as I think as the season goes on and he spells Gore they're gonna find he produces and it'll be hard to NOT to get him touches. Couple of picks I'd like to have back but overall I'm satisfied. I only took 1 defense-NY Jets as the ones that were left were crap so I'll play the waiver wire if I have to or go a week without a defense.

In my 10-team, non-ppr, start 2RB/2WR/Flex league...I ended up going with QB first...after the Big 4 and McCoy were gone. Here's how the team worked out:

1 - Aaron Rodgers

2 - MJD

3 - Gore - SJax was also available, but I went for upside

4 - Bowe - Bryant also available, but I went for the clear WR1

5 - Bradshaw

6 - Holmes

7 - Britt

8 - Fred Jackson

9 - Mike Tolbert

10 - AJ Green

11 - NE D

12 - Orton

13 - Ronnie Brown - McCoy owner drafted Jennings right in front of me

14 - Knox

15 - Burleson

16 - Rackers

17 - Flynn

So my philosophy was to have 3 good backs thru 5 rounds since I started with QB. I think I achieved that.

Then was hoping some WR fell lower than their ADP....which Holmes did.

Added some WR depth later that I like with Knox and Burleson.

I picked 6th this year in our league. I'll post my first 5 picks from our draft yesterday in my 12 team PPR league. 1QB - 2RB - 2 WR - 1TE - 1 Flex. The only slightly different rule we have is that RB receiving yards is counted as half that of WR (.5 per 10).

1.06 - J Charles

2.07 - Calvin Johnson

3.06 - Romo

4.07 - Mark Ingram

5.06 - Santonio Holmes

The first 5 picks were:

Andre Johnson

Foster

McCoy

Rice

Peterson

I hope this can help some of you.

12 team ppr 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1flex rb wr te, 1 kicker 1 def.

1 Andre Johnson 2 Darren McFadden 3 Brandon Marshall 4 Dez Bryant 5 Chris Wells 6 Cedric Benson 7 Owen Daniels 8 Ben Roethlisberger 9 Willis McGahee 10 Nate Burleson 11 Sam Bradford

12 Antonio Brown 13 Bernard Scott 14 Darren Sproles 15 Jermaine Gresham 16 Jason Snelling 17 Atlanta Falcons Def 18 Sebastian Janikowski 19 Jacquizz Rodgers 20 Marcus Easley.

Picked 6th in a 12 team PPR league yesterday. 1 PPR for WR/TE .5 PPR for RB

1. Lesean McCoy

2. Aaron Rodgers was not planning on QB here, but when he was there had to grab him.

3. Felix Jones

4. Knowshon Moreno at this point was starting to worry about not having a WR yet. 6th redraft of year and 1st where I didn't have 2 WR's by this point

5. Wes Welker was very happy he slid

6. Kenny Britt

7. Julio Jones

8. Johnath Stewart

9. Pettigrew

10. Mike Williams Sea

11. Denarius Moore probably a reach but I wanted him

12. Jamie Harper

13. Donavan McNabb plays Carolina during Roders bye week

14. Lance Kendricks

15. Lions D

16. Kaeding

17. Kendall Hunter

18. Marcus Easley

Seemed like a strange draft, Chris Johnson went 4th and Foster 5th. Then the Johnson owner doesn't go for the handcuff, so I bet on Harper in the 12th and then the Johnson owner took Ringer 2 or 3 picks later. Lots of positional runs that seemed to take players a few rounds early.

Reggie Bush went at 3.11 which seemed very early to me.

Drafted from the 6 last night. 10 Team Redraft, PPR league start QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, Flex, K, DST

01.06 RB5 LeSean McCoy

02.05 WR2 Calvin Johnson

03.06 WR5 Hakeem Nicks

04.05 TE1 Antonio Gates

05.06 QB9 Matthew Stafford

06.05 WR11 Brandon Lloyd

07.06 RB24 Shonn Greene

08.05 QB11 Matt Schaub

09.06 RB30 Joseph Addai

10.05 WR27 Austin Collie

11.06 RB38 James Starks

12.05 DEF8 New Orleans

13.06 PK12 Matt Bryant

14.05 TE23 Lance Kendricks

15.06 DEF12 Minnesota

16.05 PK11 Billy Cundiff

I ended up going heavy on WR's earlier in the draft because we had several QB's and RB's going earlier than expected. Happy with the value I get in some players that fell (Greene, Lloyd and Addai) and can't believe I ended up getting both Nicks and CJ.

Good luck to all that haven't drafted yet!

6th in a 12 team ppr on RTSports.. 2rb/2wr/1te/1flex league

Harvin

Owen Daniels

Starks

J. Stew

Alex Henery (brain fart, thought it was the last round)

Jerome Simpson

DeMarco Murray

Roy Williams

I don't usually take a QB before the 7th, but I didn't like what was on the board at all. Assuming health of RBs, I'm pretty satisfied with the potential of this team.

Just completed my 12-team league draft (standard scoring), and it went like this:

01.06 Jamaal Charles

02.07 Hakeem Nicks

03.06 LeGarrette Blount

04.07 Miles Austin

05.06 Mike Williams (TB Mike of course)

06.07 Joseph Addai

07.06 Santana Moss

08.07 Josh Freeman

09.06 Michael Bush

10.07 Sam Bradford

11.06 Rob Gronkowski (lost out early to Jimmy Graham and Owen Daniels)

12.07 Bernard Scott

13.06 Delone Carter

14.07 Saints D

15.06 Brandon Gibson

16.07 Dan Carpenter

I was determined to get two RBs in the first three rounds, two stud WRs in the first five, and wait on a QB. Relatively pleased with the outcome.

I'm loving the 6th spot this year. Depending on your scoring rules, it could dictate where to draft, but from my perspective, I see this is the year to go late on QB from the 6th spot. I am targeting 6th round for QB with either a Matt Ryan, Tony Romo, or Matt Schaub. In rounds 1-5 I am thinking RB-RB-WR-WR-WR... so using your analysis below you could have a team like this for non-PPR:Matt Ryan or Matt Schaub(1) Mendenhall,(2) Turner(3) V Jax, (4) Williams, (5) Colston or Bryantor for PPR, you could go WR-RB-WR-RB-WRMatt Ryan or Matt Schaub(2) MJD, (4) Bradshaw or Best(1) A Johnson, (3) VJax, (5) Colston or Bryant Just a great spot this year!
Would this be for a 10 teamer. Doesnt look very realistic for a 12 teamer

I like this team, I am writing it down...would grab Kendrick over Scott though, just me. Suisham at PK is a winner

I think 6th is too soon for the upside down strategy. good luck though.

Nice job, I would have preferred a WR or other RB instead of Moreno. Very solid team

Looking at the drafts posted I am thinking RB/RB to start. Of course all the drafts very depending on PPR and number of rb/wr/flex starters but Seems like nice WRs are falling

Being in the middle, I think the best approach is to tier your players and look for value to drop. Personally I have 5 RBs in my tier 1, If one drops to 6 I will pick him, if not I will pick my tier 1 WR. I'll do this for at least 4 or 5 rounds and longer if I am getting a good mix. I probably won't grab a QB or TE until later unless one drops, but I'm not locked into going RB-RB or anything like that.
