**** Official Aaron Rodgers injury thread ***** (1 Viewer)

The only thing I fear is that he does get cleared, we all play him and then he's knocked out early leaving us with another 1 point game.

I have a sneaking suspicion he gets cleared tomorrow. Jordy Nelson owners rejoice!
I kinda have that same feeling. Might be wishful thinking, but other than the Vegas odds, the tea leaves seem to be pointing in that direction.

Cowboys opened at -7.5.

News coming at some point today. As I was watching rivers make me regret going with the "sure points", I was talking with a grad school buddy who works for the hospital/clinic group in GB that is contracted by the packers (Bellin Health). Kind of wish I had talked to him before kickoff last night.

Obviously he can't legally tell me specifics, and if he did I couldn't legally share that information either. All he could tell me is "from what I hear, it's looking good [to play this week]." I tried to pry a little more out of him, but that didn't work.

So take it for what it's worth, which could be not a whole lot to most people. To me, it's worth more than the average hunch, which is good enough for me. If I had known this before kick off last night I would have benched Rivers to go with Rodgers and fall back on Luck if Rodgers wasn't cleared (just to show what value this information is to me, don't need to get forum police involved)

I'll be the one to say it.....Lacy?

Practice around 11 ish...McCarthy presser sometime after in the 12:30-12:45 range.

Not sure if they would leak much before then.

From what was open to media...Rodgers did not do much 11 on 11.

2 minute drill work Rodgers watched while Flynn got the reps.

Not a good sign for those holding out hope for Rodgers to play.

Flat out bad news. Had been trending nicely over the last day or so, too

Only hope was it was a smokescreen and he took more in the part after the 15 minutes that media was there.

McCarthy supposed to talk at 12:25.

I have a feeling he'll be ruled out after seeing the developments from practice

he wouldn't practice at all if there was no chance he will play. keep that in your head.

Or worse they'll just milk it till gametime.

I think this is where we are heading. Which sucks bigtime since it's a late game.

####. As a Rodgers owner in FF semifinals, this sucks.

As a Packer fan taking his son to his first NFL game Sunday, this really sucks. :sadbanana:

Rotoworld take:

The Packers have ruled out Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) for Week 15.

Matt Flynn will get the start. It's conceivable Rodgers could return for Week 16, but that decision will be impacted by whether Green Bay can go to Dallas and beat the Cowboys with Flynn under center. Thus, the odds are likely against Rodgers playing another snap this year. Still, fantasy owners should hold out hope and keep him rostered into the season's final fantasy week.

I know you really want to see Rodgers, but don't undersell your boy's first NFL game. It's gonna be great. You'll see. The game is almost sidebar. It's not gonna suck.

Downgrade Lacy and Nelson. ####.
Cowboys run D is awful and Sean Lee is hurt again, so they will be even worse. If Lacy were 100%, I'd have no fear about this matchup and would consider the QB news neutral b/c it would mean they'd likely rely on him with more (albeit lower quality) looks. That said, who knows how gimpy Lacy will be with the ankle, so this could be a disaster.

Nelson OTOH... #### is right.

He'll be disappointed by the news, but I'm sure Stu Jr will wear his Rodgers jersey anyway.

From the article: ""Frankly, it's been a difficult morning going through the conversation with Aaron and Dr. McKenzie," McCarthy said. "Speaking with Dr. McKenzie, this is the right decision."

The team's doctors did not clear Rodgers to play, and McCarthy said it was the right decision for the organization. McCarthy said Rodgers made progress during the week, but he did not receive a CT-scan on Friday."

It seems odd to me that they didn't even re-scan this week to see if there was enough healing to play. With that being the case, I think it's now pretty unlikely he is playing next week either. If he can put in first team reps in pads for two days, say he feels ready to go, and the medical staff won't even give him a scan to see where the bone's at, then I'd have to imagine his chances for next week are near nil.

He's done, no need to risk him this year.

While I don't expect it, if they are in the hunt next week, legitimately so, then that would be a good reason depending upon how much risk exists.

They didn't even give him a scan?!?! Ok, so all you people out there who have been killing me for in here the last 6 weeks for my staunch opinion that this has been handled poorly - please answer me this.... Why did they let Rodgers practice so much this week? He obviously passed the pain threshold test based on the fact he was clearly disappointed at not being cleared. So what is the Medical Staff basing its decision on? Without a ct scan, how was it possible all week that he could possibly play on Sunday, but then have this change on Friday morning? Do they have X-ray vision that was used this morning?Their season is on the line. Without Rodgers they are 7.5 point underdogs against the Cowboys. With Rodgers I'd imagine the spread would be almost even. So you've essentially made a decision that probably ends your team's season, and that decision was based on what again? Not only that, but I'm sure Flynn could have benefitted from the practice time that went to Rodgers this week. Ridiculously poor management. And where is the Green Bay media in all of this? Why are they not asking these questions?

Complete and total cluster$&@#.

They're basing it on a lot more than you are.

Almost certainly what happens with a collarbone at this point is, if it looks like there's union (it's healing), the doctors will say "you can return to physical activity, but don't fall on it." A collarbone can't be protected with a cast the way a wrist or hand can, and it's probably six months before it'll be back to full strength.

So why not IR him then?

So they can add Vince Young from the waiver wire? What'd be the point?

Because they haven't ruled out playing him this year?

maybe so he can play in the post season, if they make it.

Yeah, I'm sure that really messed up the Cowboys this week. I mean, really. Once you prepare for Rodgers it's impossible to win a game against Matt #######g Flynn.
Dude, I hear you loud and clear, and I completely agree. But these NFL guys are funny, you know. These are the same dumbasses that would rather waste a timeout trying to ice Nick Novack then save it for the two-minute drive they need to score a TD. They obviously think this subterfuge works, even you, I'm assuming, and I knew Erin Andrews had a better chance starting at QB this weekend than Aaron Rodgers.

Sorry...anyone claiming they are keeping him on the roster so they can mess with people's gameplanning is an idiot.

So other than calling people idiots, what is your take on this issue and how the Packers have managed things? I always hear you take pot shots, but I never actually hear you take a position.
