***Official*** AFC Divisional Playoff Game Thread (1 Viewer)

a post over at twoplustwo(not my words):I cant remember seeing a game with so many bad breaks going against one team. The Ravens have had ZERO luck this game. It is unreal:1) Dallas Clark COMPLETELY misses the ball and it hits his knee and bounces up2) Multiple fumbles with every one going Indy's way3) 2 sure picks that are just tipped by Lewis4) Kick hits the crossbar and goes in5) Indy is buried on their own goaline and the offical calls a terrible offsides penalty6) Stupid official calls Baltimore player out on the interception when it is going to go back for big yards. Also, the official misses the spot buy about 10 yardsBaltimore hasnt played well and neither has indy. But every single break has gone for Indy.
EVERY break.Like the pass interference call that the refs turned into a non-call (why, not sure?)Or the big pass down the left side that Peyton and Moorehead just couldn't keep in boundsThe Ravens were the soft team today.

Looks like McNair "the savior" costs them the season. 2 drives in scoring range he throws picks and costs them the game.Ravens D couldn't have done much more.GO CHARGERS|!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
McNair had a lousy game. But he was a big part of their success this season.

Congrats to the Colts and their fans. I'll probably whine a bunch over the coming weeks about the "bad luck" the Ravens had, but for now I wish the Colts the best. Good game.

Good job, Colts D. Sanders makes that D look so much better. I hope the Pats get a chance to play in the dome next week.

Switch Manning/Dungy and McNair/Billick's performance and Peyton and Dungy would be crucified.

Billick SHOULD be on the hot seat entering next season.

So should Mike McCarthy for not getting the Packturds into the playoffs with a HOFer at QB. I'll use the same logic as you. Thanks for playing.

the ref clearly explain the call thereThe Moorehead play was just a bad play by Manning...no luck there.

Tough crowd.

Gutsy win by the Colts. Stayed a half step ahead of the Ratbirds all night long and played solid solid defense for the second straight week. Let's not forget that this was on the road against a pretty good team pumped for its first home playoff game in a while.

LOL @ all the crucifixes

Team went 13-3, won their division and got a first-round bye. Nobody's getting fired

Had I only listened to Azcards who said bet the farm on No TDs being scored.....opportunity for my boatloads of cash down the drain.

And it was clearly a bad call. This is not up for debate.

Is it just me or did Billick completely abandon the run in the second half? They looked like they were getting Lewis on track in the second quarter and instead they're throwing dink passes that the Colts have the speed to cover instead of shoving the ball down their throat.

Only six carries between Lewis, Anderson and Mughelli in the second half, with two first downs.

Schottenheimer could very well go 14-2 and get fired if he loses tomorrow.
There're probably more differences in Billick's and Schottenheimer's situations than there are similarities, particularly in their working relationships with their respective GMs.

:lmao: Somebody on the Ravens blew it in the second half. RB Jamal Lewis looked as good as he has since his 2,000 rushing season and for whatever reason, they went away from it instead of pounding it right at the Colts. Strange game all around but huge props to the Colts defense. NOBODY saw this happening prior to the playoffs starting. The Colts D is the story of this year's playoffs.

I wasn't implying that their situations were identical, just that a good regular season record doesn't make you untouchable.

Bad calls happen in football games but the best teams find a way to overcome them. No blown call in this game ultimately resulted in a Colts victory so the debate is mute.

The Ravens had their chances and blew it. Period.

IMO, the offensive genius Billick was outcoached. Or maybe he outcoached himself. Whatever. But just like Andy Reid figured out that the best way to keep his keep his run defense off the was to run Westbrook, Dungy ran Addai and Rhodes a combined 32 times. The Ravens RBs had 19 rushing attempts.

I agree with that. It's just not applicable to Billick in Baltimore. This game bore a strong resemblance to the 2004 regular season game. Despite the picks, I thought Peyton did an excellent job running a lot of clock, hitting some key third down passes (or audibling to the right run) and keeping the Ratbirds defense on the field. He used exactly the formula that I thought would be used against the Colts. It must be noted that the Colts defense also came up big in that '04 game.

Tough to debate when you're mute.

despite Peyton's horrible 2 games in the playoffs...looks like the Colts will advance...and lose to the winner of the Charger/Patriots game...
More like Manning played like an average NFL QB. If he plays his best, the Colts go to the SB.
50%, 0 TDs, and 2 INTs is below average for a starting NFL QB.
Not against the Ravens.

Man is this sweet! Colts the road dogs. Everyone against them. They went to the "dogs" and showed 'em who had more fight!

Gonna lay a beat down on Addai?

Do your dance Ray Ray! Just one more time for the camera. It always makes me laugh.

For those spewing junk against the Colts on this board all week. Enjoy the rest of the post season. I guess you exacted your revenge today?!

It's time to move on, the better team won again! That's 4 in a row over the Ratbirds. It's getting old.

I'm glad I was wrong about the Colts today. The Ravens D is unbelievable, but the Colts D really stepped up again. Vinatieri is a major, major stud - whoever said that was a bad signing is WAY off.

Oh - the Colts will lose by 10 next week no matter who they play (it worked this week - you think I'm going to change it up now :goodposting: ).

Agreed. Congrats to the Colts & their fans. They outplayed the Ravens & deserved to win. McNair's two picks were fatal to the Ravens chances as their margin of error is so small anyway. For those putting down McNair (& I agree he didn't play well), the Ravens wouldn't even had sniffed this game without him. I supported Boller longer than most Ravens fans, but McNair was much of the difference for them this year. It's not much of a stretch to say that he was worth 4 or 5 wins this year.

Billick's done this all year, going away from the run just when it seems like it's starting to get going. I don't understand it, but then he's the most intelligent guy ever......

Baltimore defense should be p-o-ed about this game. Allowing 12 pts and lose.
They were on the field as the Colts ran out the clock. A 7:39 drive is terrible.
:goodposting: The Ravens offense is more to blame for the loss, because of their poor performance, but the Ravens defense getting gashed for a drive like that to end the game had to be a major blow to their psyche. They sure like to talk a lot, but needing a stop late in the game to give the offense any chance to go down and win the game, they came up empty. Also, at the risk of stating the obvious, Adam Vinatieri is as clutch as clutch gets.

If RayRay only had a bit more energy...maybe he wore himself out during his pre-game dance?

Balt lost this game for themselves IMO. Lewis looked like a man possessed out there the 1st half and also looked as if he started to wear down the Colts D. He carried the ball 10 or 11 times in the 1st half. Then only gets it 2 or 3 in the 2nd half of a 9-6 point game. Indy's D played well but they gave up 4.2 yds per carry on the ground for the game with Lewis at 4.0. Why Balt completly abandoned it is beyond me.
