Boldin is talking about saving himself for the playoffs? :goodposting: Cocky and hurt pretty badly I'm guessing. Who talks about sitting it out for the playoffs? In week 6?
If you have ever had the chance to listen to him interview, he is anything but cocky. He seems very low-key with a great perspective on the game and life. That being said, I believe he is hurt worse than he is letting on. The guy seeks out contact and goes all-out all of the time. For him to take this long getting back from a bruise says a lot.

Bryant Johnson (quadriceps) sat out practice Wednesday.Arizona's third receiver wasn't reported to have injured himself in Week 5 against the Rams. He'll only be valuable this week if he gets healthy and Anquan Boldin is inactive again. Right now, neither scenario is a guarantee.
Anquan Boldin (hip) sat out another practice Wednesday. Not good. While signs have been pointing to Boldin returning soon, he'll probably have to practice at some point this week to give the coaching staff confidence in his ability to play a full game. Check back later this week.

right now I think Boldin is being a big wuss. He has had the MRI and there is no damage, he supposedly worked out real hard Monday without any real ill effects. He is a big ol' wuss and he needs to suck it up like Plex. Saving himself for the playoffs?

I don't think Boldin needs to practice much before he plays on Sunday. As long as he gets one session in, he'll be good to go. There's no point enduring extra strain unless you have to... seems like resting leading up to the game, with the occassional work out, is the best thing to do.

UPDATE From Rotoworld:

Anquan Boldin (hip) didn't practice Wednesday, but reportedly "went through a rigorous workout and ran with his teammates."

According to the Arizona Republic, Boldin may practice Thursday, which would significantly improve his chances of playing this week.

Looking slightly more positive, but I will believe it when I see him out there! An aside, can we edit this post's description or start a new thread? Every time I see the title "Out This Week" I get frustrated all over again!

"We're talkin about practice. Practice. Practice. talkin bout practice. practice. not a game. practice. it's practice."

Looks like today will be the arbiter for whether or not he plays. If he practices today I'd say it's likely he plays. Still, I might want to watch him play a full game before putting him back in my lineup.

The other Boldin thread said he wasn't practicing today. http://www.azcardinals.com/blog/blog.php?author=1

his bye week is 3 weeks away...but thanks for the insight Fitz owner.
What the hell is wrong with people?
Hi, Keys! As mentioned in another thread, the boards are much different this year and not in a good way..... :goodposting:
First of all, the Fitz owner thing was a joke....And secondly, this is a public message board that is filled with opinions. It's not your freaking living room. Cry me a river if you dont like someone's response. The point is this however, FFChick posted that Boldin might not play this week because he has a WEEK 8 Bye. UM, Hello, that is almost 3 weeks away. We havent even started Week 6 and suggesting that he might not play until November is not only stupid but tremendously misleading.

Indeed it was only that....A JOKE. Lighten up people and don't take things so seriously. It's not going to change the timeframe when Boldin decides to return.

Cardinals WR Boldin Sits Again

Kent Somers, Arizona Republic- [Full Article]

Arizona Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin is not participating fully in practice today, making it more likely he'll miss his third consecutive game with a hip injury. He has reported progress with the hip muscle. The pain has decreased and his range of motion is better. Boldin doesn't want to return too soon, aggravate it and then miss even more time. "I want to come back for more than just one game," Boldin said. "I don't want to rush it back and re-injure it and be done for the season. I really think that with this team we're going to be making a push for the playoffs, and I want to be in there when we do. For me, it's tough. You want to be in there but you always you want to play it smart and make sure you're not making things worse than what they are."

Oct 11 Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com, reports Arizona Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin (hip) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 11. Boldin was running on the side and said he is about 80 percent.

Cards notebook: Injured Boldin not taking chances

Mike Tulumello, Tribune

Here’s something you haven’t heard much the past several years in Cardinal-land. A key player coming back from an injury is debating whether to play Sunday based on his belief the team will be in the playoffs.

Read Mike Tulumello's blog, Bird Watching

“I want to come back for more than just a game,” said receiver Anquan Boldin, who has missed the past two games with a sore hip and may also miss Sunday’s home game vs. Carolina.

“I feel we will be in the playoffs. I will be (expletive) off if I’m sitting out for a playoff game.

“I’m pushing it right to the edge. I want to be out there but I want to be smart about it.”

Boldin said he feels about “80 percent healthy” and that, “If we had to play a Super Bowl on Sunday, I’d probably be out there.”

Boldin was set to undergo an MRI and CT scan Thursday. He’ll decide whether he can play based on those tests and how he feels.

He said he’d prefer to practice rather than go into a game without real preparation.

“I feel practice gets you prepared for the game... the looks that you see. I’d rather practice rather than just going out there on Sundays and playing.”

Elsewhere, tackle Levi Brown once again sat out practice with a sore ankle after tweaking the injury on Wednesday.

“We’ll see what he can do Friday,” coach Ken Whisenhunt said.

Receiver Bryant Johnson, who has a sore quadriceps, was able to get in a full practice.

For the Panthers, quarterback David Carr sat out again Thursday with a sore back.

That means the Cardinals could end up facing Vinny Testaverde, the just-signed 43-year-old, in Sunday’s game.

NOT A TEST

Boldin looked as healthy as a horse Thursday in pulling a prank on rookie Steve Breaston.

Boldin jumped him and wrestled him to the ground just after practice and put the rookie in a pin position.

“I told him, ‘We fold rookies up like towels,’ ” he said. “He didn’t believe me, so I had to prove it.”

Boldin joked that his easy pin shouldn’t be viewed in the context of whether he’ll play Sunday.

“That’s too easy,” he said. “It doesn’t determine where I am physically.”

HOPFULLY THE TESTS COME BACK OK AND HE PLAYS THIS WEEKEND. HE SEEMS HEALTHY ENOUGH TO WRESTLE?!

boldin is soft if he dont play.
You heard it here first. Management, coaches, and Boldin say he's not ready, but Fantasy Fix Fred has the real story.
:goodposting: Frustrated owners always provide the best insight :X . Take this from his/the team's perspective; is it worth the chance of him coming back and aggravating the injury? Really no - this team DOES have a solid chance of making the playoffs, and for that to happen they need a healthy Boldin. If he doesn't feel right, or if there is a risk of aggravating his hip, he just has to let it heal completely.

Didn't he already have tests come back clean?HE'S WRESTLING??!! :lmao:

No Q or Levi

If not practicing is a sign -- and it probably is -- then don't expect Anquan Boldin or Levi Brown to play Sunday. Neither are practicing today.

We'll have a further update later.

Boldin missed another day of practice Thursday because of his hip injury, but he's making progress, he said.

"I feel like I'm 80 percent right now," Boldin said. "If we had to play a Super Bowl Sunday, I'd probably be out there."

But the game Sunday is a regular-season contest against the Panthers, so it seems likely Boldin will miss a third straight game.

He was scheduled to undergo an MRI on Thursday to assess his status.

PROBABLY play in the Super Bowl means DEFINITELY not playing vs. the Panthers I would think...

Anquan Boldin (hip) missed practice again Friday and is likely to sit out this week against the Panthers. He is listed as doubtful.

Opinion... the hip is more than just a bruise.

So the Arizona Republic is reporting that he's not expected to play.

But Rotoworld at least has good news regarding Boldin's physical state:

Cardinals say Boldin could play

Anquan Boldin - WR - ARZ - Oct. 13 - 11:23 am et

The Cardinals say Anquan Boldin could play Sunday despite missing practice all week and being listed as doubtful with a hip injury.

"Physically, he can play," coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "My concern is not getting a lot of reps. That’s why he’s doubtful." The Cardinals said similar things during the last two weeks, but Boldin hasn't dressed on game day. Oct. 13 - 11:23 am et
