Man, I wanted Heckert to stay, if at least to help with our drafts. Just make him our draft guru or whatever.

Say what you want, but there is no comparison in the quality of our draft classes since he arrived here.

What about Ken Whisenhunt. Didn't the cards say 2012 would be his final year as coach?

ETA Per Rivera

Report: Rivera will remain 'in limbo' for now

Updating a previous item, NFL Network's Michael Lombardi is now reporting on Around the League Live that coach Ron Rivera will remain "in limbo" until the Panthers finalize their general manager search.

As we suspected, the decision will not be made on Monday. Owner Jerry Richardson isn't expected to sit down with Rivera until Wednesday at the earliest. Rivera may ultimately be relieved of his duties, but that should be at the discretion of the next GM. While Rivera has earned another season in Carolina with the NFL's No. 8 defense, an improving Cam Newton, and a competitive team in the face of a slew of injuries, it's only fair that the next GM gets to hand-pick his own head coach.

Mularkey and munchak the most obvious possibilities where we still lack confirmation one way or the other?

Munchak is getting another year.

The Titans will retain head coach Mike Munchak for 2013.

It's a mild surprise after cantankerous, soon-to-be 90-year-old owner Bud Adams routinely slammed his team's performance during the season. However, Adams is the same owner who stuck with Jeff Fisher for 17 years, so he clearly values stability. Coming off a 6-10 season where his team was outscored by 141 points, Munchak will have a lot to prove in his third year in Nashville. The Titans also announced that GM Ruston Webster has been retained, although front-office executive (and former GM) Mike Reinfeldt has been let go.

Also, Greg Knapp is gone and taking his ZBS with him. This should make McFadden owners happy.

Multiple reports stating that Reinfeldt was only casualty in Tennessee (unless Bud wakes up tomorrow and forgot he told everyone they were staying). The Titans will retain head coach Mike Munchak for 2013.

Also, report that Mularkey met with Kahn this morning and was told about Smith. Would assume that means he has a job (at least until a new GM is found).

Banner is on a warpath. Expect anything Eagles related to be gone by Feb 1.
