Official Browns over Patriots thread in Week 5 (1 Viewer)

Um, you can't get what you never ask for, right?

Ok, the only place you should be "marking" a prediction like this "down" is on a piece of toilet paper before you flush, but I will at least predict that the Browns will put up more points than any other team thus far against the Patriots. Edwards + Winslow are clicking this year with Anderson, who was barely touched against a solid Ravens pass rush.

Our defense, however, will get lit up. Man, it's just depressing to have to look forward to your home team being beaten like a dirty rug on Sunday. I'm just trying to generate some momentum here...

Can we just open up 12 more topics with team X vs the Patriots for every game left on the schedule.

Mark it down - the pats are not going undefeted this year. And I am as big a pats homer as they come...

I don't think the Browns have a chance, but I would like to see how quickly people(read:idiots) jump off the New England bandwagon if they lost this one.

Every team in the NFL has a chance every weekend. The Browns are 2-2 (and a blocked field goal from being 3-1) and played much better than most thought they would (they have played a little worse than I thought they would). My prediction, Cleveland: 63-56

Sammy Morris 24-150 2TD's against the Browns
I picked up Morris off waivers after week 1. FBG's said to grab him. I am stacked at RB but badly need help at WR. What kind of WR do you think Morris is worth in a trade ? TIA for any comments.

I definately wont call a W in this one but I believe the score will be closer than people expect. The Browns can finally move the ball, even on the Pats, and our scheme has been working well lately. Our Oline is built out of STUDS who havent allowed a sack in 3 games.

The Pats rushed four all last night and still got pressure all over Palmer. They wont be able to that against the Browns which should open up the field for Joe J and Bray. Our tight end is our greatest weapon and he is a mismatch against whoever he goes against. When DA has time he can be lethal.

If Cincys WR3 and TE caught the balls intended for them the game wouldve been very close. Their defense was severely depleted due to all the LB injuries and the Defeense was demoralized after the fist drive.

We wont/cant stop Moss, but hopefully when keep everything else in front of us and contain Morris. Solid tackling wiill be key.

Pats 31

Browns 24

I actually think Winslow will have a good game. Pats big LBs historically don't fare that well against fast, athletic TEs. Addition of Thomas might change this however.

I expect the score in this game to be closer than in the Bengals game.

Patriots 31

Browns 17

I'm still pulling for Romeo; just not this week.

This score wouldn't shock me. I could see CLE hanging in for 2.5 quarters, 14-10 type game, with NE pulling away down the stretch.(Wow, just dawned on me that I thought of "only" a 14 pt win as a close game. We're a loooooooooong way from the days of **** McPherson and Hugh Millen. :) )

Last Year in 2 games against Adalius Thomas, Bart Scott, Ray Lewis and T,. Suggs, Winslow had 12 catches for 154 yards. And that was with a BAD O-line and Charlie Fry.If they Key on Winslow, then Edwards will have a Big day.

Pats, 34-24

Without digging through the stats, it always seems that NE has trouble with TEs that can catch and pick up the extra yards (i.e., Gates, Clark, etc.). Granted, there are bigger weapons on those teams, but Winslow may have a decent day. Anderson won't do better than Palmer did last week though.

Derek Anderson will put up 320/3 this game.He will also throw 4 INTs.
I assume the 320/3 was schtick, but I agree with the 4 INT's. Anderson is in for a world of hurt. BB & the Pats will throw schemes at Anderson that he's never seen before, I expect his confidence to be so shattered after this game that he'll eventually lose his starting job this year to Quinn. Anderson's cinderella season comes undone this week, and he'll never recover.Projection: 87 yards passing 0 TD, 4 INTs & 2 FL.

I think Winslow will have 100yds and a TD

No one else will do anything.

Edwards 5 rec 37 yds

Joe J 5 rec 70 yds

J. Lewis 59 yds rush

Anderson 229 yds 1TD/2INT

Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson and TJ Housh couldn't move the ball at home. What makes anyone think that Cleveland can move it on the road? If this game is in the Pound I can see a 10 point loss. But Cleveland is on the road. Brady Moss ect are going to have a field day.

Awesome. For my prediction, I'm thinking DA will be between 87yds and 320yds with a TD, 2ints, 0 fl. And his confidence will be just fine heading into the Miami game.Browns 3-3 going into the bye.

Generally speaking, you can't take away EVERYTHING.I assume NE will be in control of this game for the most part and they will be looking to prevent the big play that allows CLE back into the game. Seeing Winslow go for 10 catches, 100 yards may work much better than seeing Braylon go for 4 catches, 80yds with a 30+ yard TD (or two). The short week is a big factor here IMO.Everything with NE is preparation. Playing a road game on Monday night really interferes with their weekly schedule and preparation.Looking forward to the game.I'm sure Romeo will get a nice welcome from the Foxboro crowd, he was a big part of all the good things that have happened in NE and most fans won't forget it.

Im really impressed with what Cleveland has done in getting to 2-2. Theyve proven that their O is a force that must be respected. Anytime you can throw a WR like Braylon Edwards on the field next to a TE like Winslow, it can cause major problems. These 2 guys are bigtime playmakers and tough matchups. And Anderson is playing well. Ive got a feeling theyll be in for a long day. New England has beaten 2 teams of about the Browns' caliber on the road by over 20 points. Playing at home, they'll win by atleast 20. Belichick wont throw salt on any wounds with Romeo Crennel on the other side. But these 2 teams are just on different levels. Im going Patriots 37-10.

You can crown NE if you want to, BUT THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!

..................just getting that out of my system now. Why wait till next week?

I'm still looking for the Patriots weakness after 4 games.

I thought it was their DB's... but they did a decent job against the best WR tandem in the league Monday. Now they get Harrison back.

They can stop the run... their O line is great... decent running game...??

Someone will beat them due to fluke turnovers, a kick return TD or both..... but not the Browns.
