I really wanted to take a look at Justin Smiley.
Wouldnt mind Demorrio Williams. Kind of athlete Lovie likes.
Me too RBM. Me too.All I keep hearing about is the Bears and their non-interest in FA except their own. I just don't get it. I remember that Angelo said last year that he beleives that FA is a quick fix and teams looking to upgrade a position fast go that route. Well hello Jerry! We have positions that need fixing. O-Line, WR, RB, S.
Go and fix them.
I really think that if Angelo does not improve this team, he's skating on some thin ice.
Absoluely. And by improve we dont mean Justin McCareins and Brandon Lloyd
That's kind of what I expect them to add at WR - just another body to go with Bradley/Hester. If we read some of the quotes from the coaching staff, they seem to believe that Hester is going to develop into a top tier WR, and that Bradley is loaded with potential. I don't think they believe this is a major priority, and the free agent market contains a lot of veteran, #3 type WR's so I think they will add one in free agency, along with a draft pick to fill out the group with Rashied Davis probably coming back as well.I think they are banking on major improvements from Bradley and Hester along with Des Clark/Greg Olsen.
I really don't see Hester as more than a #4 WR. Right now he is a one-trick pony. I hope the Bears can at least bring back Rashid Davis. I'm also hoping the Bears will actually address this WR issue with a younger solid player (Hackett, Johnson) 2nd rd pick, rather than a 2 year band-aid in someone like Kennison or Booker.
I think the difference though, and I'm more in agreeance with you, is that the Bears feel that both Bradley and Hester are going to be better than #4 type WR's, and
aren't willing to break the bank at that position, espeically because they also have Clark and Olsen. We'll get one veteran, and a draft pick in Round 2 or 3, and that will be our WRing core. To me, that's pretty brutal. They'd be banking on breakout seasons from unproven wide receivers.
It seems to me that the only way to get the offense back to responsibility is through the ground game because our passing game is not going to be the strong point of the team.
As we stand today, neither is the running game, but I'm praying that will change.
