***OFFICIAL CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS PLAYOFF THREAD*** (1 Viewer)

Any nervousness about the possible Hossa curse? I don't think there is any chance you guys can lose the SCF but weirder things have happened.
Not really since he has been a great all around player so far. Not on the scoresheet but in other areas.

awesome GWA by Bolland.
There's a whole thread on the Hawks board as to why he sucked all year.
he missed most of the season after having back surgery for a herniated disc. tough crowd.
He wasn't playing well(offensively at least) when he came back. Him centering the second line and and Madden the 3rd line was really dragging the team down. Sharp moving to center in the Nashville series really helped the team. I wasn't one to have any anger at Bolland because you are right, he's a warrior for making it back. Moving him to a defensive role was a great move by Q and now that he's putting the puck in the net, it's a nice little bonus. Long live the Rat.

It will be real nice for Chicago to bring home another title. Its been a while (no, I don't count the white soxs)

It is troublesome that they are not playing their best hockey. You can make the argument that they have been outplayed so far aside from Niemi. But 2-0 is 2-0. Hopefully, the can continue their road dominance.

You could, but it's not like they have played poorly. Reminds me a lot of the SJS series so far. Have played very well for stretches in each period other than the 3rd last night, which I was half expecting. Back to Back PKs with the Flyers scoring at the end of started a huge surge by the Flyers. I wasn't expecting them to really push the play at that point, but would have liked to see them control the puck a bit more and clear the puck a bit faster.

:lmao: . Why doesn't that championship count? I'm a Chicago homer, but why are the White Sox always discounted as second class or non existent just because their stadium isn't 100 years old and they haven't gone 100+ years winning nothing? I'll even count Arena football and soccer championships....we as Chicago fans cannot afford to be picky.

Fortunately, it's the Flyers. If the Hawks played 'average' against SJS or VC, maybe even a solid Nashville team, they wouldn't be in the finals. They've been able to pull off two wins due to Niemi and the team's depth. They'll have to sharpen it up on the road, now.But 2-0 with Toews, Kane, and Big Buff silent. That's not a good sign for Philly.

I am a Cubs fan and it is silly to me that the Sox title is almost completely ignored when there is talk of Chicago championships. I didn't get anything out of that title but a lot of fans here did.

Dude's a Cubs fan. I was born in and grew up in the NW 'burbs but somehow became a White Sox fan so I was overjoyed to see the Palehose win that one and rub it in the faces of all of my lame Cub fan friends. Cubs fans won't know what to do if they ever win a WS. They're like martyrs themselves at this point. Woe is them. :yucky:

Go Hawks. Philly is gonna be an insane environment.

It will be great if the Hawks add to the legacy of Chicago title winners in the major sports.

Everybody remembers a winner whether you like them or not.

GO HAWKS. :banned:

It's funny how they are trying to make headlines in this series. Keep hearing about how the Hawks are so angry about Pronger picking up pucks and throwing them away. Are you serious? They couldn't care as Pronger will get to throw two more out soon along with himself and his whole team as the Hawks hoist the Cup :excited:

I just hope that Carcillo moron gets more ice time. Between tripping over his own feet and pathetic stickhandling (not to mention an untimely penalty here or there), that guy is a joke.

I really think the Hawks need to win Game 4 because if the Flyers win, then they have the momentum and the Hawks will be feeling the pressure to try to win Game 5 at home. In these playoffs, as has been well-documented, the Hawks haven't played nearly as well at home overall as they have on the road.

Hopefully, Pronger and Hartnell won't get away with murder again in Game 4.

Ladd a gametime decision. Carcillo will be sitting in Gm4.

Anyone hitting any of the Road Watches tonight?

With as well as the Hawks played in the 1st, absolutely dominant, they made us sweat in the 2nd and 3rd.

I can't take much more of this ####!

H64 - have you heard the rumors about changing the logo to add a 5th feather? Any truth to this?

Congrats to the Blackhawks and their fans. I was pulling for the Flyers, but Chicago played a strong series.

Really was hoping for a Game 7.

Enjoy your celebration.

What is so amazing about Hockey is that the change in the almighty Mo is so quick. The Flyers were dead in the 2nd period and the fans were already throwing in the towel, then one defelction and it looks like we are going to game 7. Now for all you Niemi haters.............time to kiss the CUP!!!!

How about JR's postgame interview, I didn't think he was going to make it. How long before he is brought back as our next ambassador?????

Congrats to the long time Hawks fans, this must be surreal. While not a bandwagon jumper, I was a distant hockey fan as a kid and as I began to watch and understand more the last couple years I fell in love with the Hawks. So, I didn't have the weight of the past on my fandom. Those that did feel that weight, enjoy the release.

Yeah, that was ..interesting.VERY cool thing - a young friend of ours from church, and one of my son's best friends, is a member of the Ice Crew. She gets a ring, too. Can't wait to touch it (the ring). [in SI's photo spread of the Ice Crew, she's pics 29 and 30.]

My allegiances go:BullsBearsCubsBlackhawksI should probably like the Hawks more since my wife used to work for the Wirtz organization for many years, but I didn't start getting into hockey until ~94 (thanks to Sega NHL 94) so the life history just isn't there.

Congrats Hawk fans.

I am glad the Hawks won. Hossa finally got his ring on the third try.

Would have loved to seen a Chicago-Montreal final though.
