Seems silly to have a trophy ceremony for a semifinal.

There's a Vegas thread somewhere, but the key thing to enjoying the pool scene is to pay for your own private cabana.

You and wife discussed getting in killer shape so you can look hot at the pool in Vegas? That's kind of sad.

I think it was more so we (I) wouldn't have to feel self conscious about being the fat middle aged balding lawyer at the pool in Vegas with a wife I don't deserve. If that's sad, weep for me Argentina. Weep.

ha, that i understand

By the way, I've seen icon roll his whole stack on pocket 3s with his cat playing for him. I'm not so sure he's the guy we should take Vegas advice from here. But I'll listen.

If you were doing Vegas "right" you wouldn't be going in July. Waaaaay too hot. Unpleasant actually especially at the pool.

Go there at least once a year, usually this time of the year. Was there last year. If it wasn't so damn hot there 10 months of the year I'd live there. I got my nature in the Red Rock Canyons and other places and the Vegas strip which I never tire off. Best idea to not take kids. My SO and I took my teenage cousins to Vegas because they begged us to death but then drove us bat #### crazy over they are bored and there is nothing for them to do. Never again..

Word. Best time is Oct and March/April. After that it's a gamble as Vegas gets pretty cold in the winter too.

It'll be Africa hot. But who cares. AC in the casinos, get a cabana at the pool. I'm usually a Mandalay Bay guy. The Beach and adult pool are cool. But lots of great hotels.

Tons of great restaurants. Choose your favorite chef. Choose the best show you want to see. Clubs if you are into that. All the degenerate action one could want. Standard stuff.

But the strip club angle makes this very intriguing. Need to get the perfect club, perfect girl(s).

No matter what - you'll have the best hotel sex of your life. With newly ripped abs. Life is good.

Planning a getaway with the wife there in July. We're both gearing up for our first time without the kids in ages. We're going to get in killer shape before that and do it up right.

- What's the best one or two hotels with the fun pool scene?

- What's the best strip club? Mrs. O is a willing attendee, and we've never been to one together before, and I'd like to make this happen right.

Basically we never ever vacation and I want a no-holds-barred, spare-no-expenses Vegas trip for 3 nights or so. Whatcha got?

TIA
Cosmopolitan has the absolute best pool scene imo...

http://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/explore/pools-and-cabanas.aspx

the hotel is very nice and modern looking. I was impressed with it as I've seen all the other "big wigs" and really like it with all it's art work and such in there. If you are into art, you'd love it.

Another must do for us is Paris bouffet. Simply the best and the atmosphere is really cool frenchy looking. Looooooooooooong lines but worth it...

The best show in Vegas imo? Hands down the O show at Bellagio. Cirque de soleil on water! Seen it a million times and never tire of it. I'm sure your missus would love it!

It's over-hyped and relatively lame. You'd love it!!!!!!
I disagree. I actually was pretty over vegas until I discovered that I could go for 52 straight weekends and still not hike as many trails as I wanted or see as many beautiful naturescapes as I would love to.

The best tip I can give is rent a car. Drive to Mt. Charleston, and enjoy. Then after working your butt off on some of the hardest, yet most beautiful cardio (contrary to what culdeus thinks) in the country, enjoy vegas guilt free.

Going in two weeks and doing it up like an old married couple. A nice suite, two shows le reve and absinthe, couples massage, some nice dinners. I've accepted I'm not 25 anymore and don't need to be epic at a pool scene or strip joint. I'd suggest the same for you. Just do it classy.

It is the least cultured place in the entire world. I like the sport gambling and the cuisine, the rest is horrendous.

Absinthe is classy???? lol. I didn't know what it was and we took my mom, aunt and her husband there. Needless to say I was embarrassed especially when my uncle kept asking me what the "dialogue" was in farsi.

Ok so I'm down for some raunchy humor. Still an expensive show for a nice evening. Classier than A strip club.

Have you been to the south? There is plenty of class and culture. There is really a bit of almost anything you may want to find

As for food, there is so much here, it really comes down to preference. I recommend checking out Yelp for Vegas to see what you might like. There are also strip club reviews there, so you can cater to your tastes.

Something that has gotten a lot of press recently is Rose. Rabbit. Lie. At the Cosmopolitan. http://roserabbitlie.com

The Bellagio and the Wynn are the top hotels, but I've always enjoyed the more laid back atmosphere at Mandalay Bay.

Will you mail me a card with ten dollars in it for my birthday?

My post was poorly constructed. I was asking if he had been to the southern part of the u.s. known for a lack of culture.

Then I followed it up defending Vegas for having plenty of fancy nice things and having a positive culture of its own.

Yes I'm just giving you crap, I'm taking a preggo out there for a last hurrah before this second kid really destroys my ability to travel for awhile

LMAO at the guy from KC throwing stones in the culture contest.

Wynn Encore Beach Club is where you should go, they have cabanas with two levels that are like apartments. It also has a stripper pole in the middle of the pool where Mrs O could put on a show if the mood struck.

Love vegas.

Some of the suggestions here have been pretty good. Encore and Cosmo definitely are very nice hotels with great pool scenes. Good restaurant choices too. Can't really go wrong at those places. They're pretty decently located on the strip too.

If you're open to something more quiet and don't care about being on the strip, red rock is

awesome. Not quite the caliber of encore but for

a relaxed getaway it's great and in a really nice area of vegas. I've taken girls there for weekends and enjoyed it.

Trump international is very nice too and near great shopping. Just no casino in the hotel.

As for shows Id recommend ka. Most gender

neutral of them by far. Vegas has some of the

best food in the world so list what mrs o likes and I'm sure others and I can recommend some options.

Regarding the heat, don't listen to some of the warnings. Maybe it's because I live out here and am used to it, but it's not like you'll be walking around in the desert. You'll be fine.

Anyone ever do the grand canyon helicopter ride?
We did the GC with Maverick. It was really nice. About 4 hours. We always stay at Aria. Nice central location on strip and an exceptionally nice hotel.
That sounds like a nice thing to do as a couple
Sounds awesome. Helicopter goes straight from Vegas to the GC and back all in 4hrs???
Yeah vegas isn't too far from the western rim. However if you're going to do the gc I strongly recommend the south rim. Although a helicopter ride would be pretty cool b/c you would like see a bunch of lake mead, the Hoover dam and the gc.

We did this. It was awesome. Saw the Hoover Dam on the way. The Helicopter lands at the bottom of the canyon and you have a picnic lunch. They also pick you up in a limo to and from the hotel. It's very cool.

This is so happening. Thanks.
