PTSD is a horrible thing and he is saying so. There are enough things out there without manufacturing outrage
"Can't handle it" implies that the person is weak, but just as you've given Obama leeway on poorly phrased quotes () I'll do the same for Trump.

- Seems what happened here is that a self-serving narcissist who loves the spotlight used enthusiastic true believers to get free press and promote himself while shamelessly not even caring that everyone now knows that his big reveal was just all smoke and mirrors the whole time.

Weird.

No Democrat would have survived that comment, yet it's ok for Trump.
I'm quite sure the POW comment lost him some Republican votes. So there are some people with sense that know it's not OK. The rest just pick and choose what they hear in their alternate reality bubble.

In light of tonight's VP debate, don't forget exactly what Mike Pence is and what he believes in. If Trump were somehow to pull this off in November, Pence is the guy who will actually be running the show behind the scenes. He's a full blown religious nut-job.

"Let’s put this another way: during his congressional career, Pence wasn’t just more conservative than Paul Ryan. His voting record also put him to the right of Michele Bachmann, Todd Akin, Steve King, and even Louie Gohmert. That’s not an exaggeration. Bachmann, Akin, King, and Gohmert all had voting records less extreme than Mike Pence.

The problem is the gap between perceptions of Mike Pence and his actual record. To use Politico’s phrasing, the Hoosier is seen as “normal” and “conventional.” But on a substantive level, we’re talking about a politician whose claim to fame is an anti-LGBT law that did real harm to his state. Pence is a climate denier. He rejects the idea that cigarettes are deadly. He doesn’t believe in evolutionary biology, but he does support “conversation therapy.”

Long after it was obvious Iraq didn’t have weapons of mass destruction, Pence was still insisting that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Soon after, when the Bush/Cheney administration pushed partial privatization of Social Security, the Indiana Republican was outraged – because he said the plan wasn’t nearly right-wing enough. In 2011, just a few months after the GOP took control of the U.S. House, Pence’s big idea, to the annoyance of his party leaders, was to shut down the federal government.

Pence also once accused Disney of hiding political propaganda in an animated film to convince people that women can serve in the military."

In a situation where Trump wants to run against Hillary again, can the GOP just simply say no?  Can a party simply not allow someone to seek the nomination on their ticket? Because I'm really worried he'll try again, and get the nomination again.

Yes, they can just tell him to eff off. Of course, then he can run as an independent, killing their chances entirely.

The Reform Party did just this in 2000.

It's quite a commentary on Donald Trump that a guy who was one of the most toxic politicians in America a year ago is now the reasonable, boring side of the ticket.

Pence is going to seem very normal and reasonable compared to Trump. As an Indiana resident, I'll continue to scream "HE's NOT!!!" He's a less personally repellent Ted Cruz.
There have been several prominent Indianans in US politics - Pence, Quayle, Bayh, Mitch Daniel.... you all seem so damned... American.

This really could be something actually, the mods constantly twisting Pence into either confirming or denying #CrazySh..MyRunningMateSaid on the one hand and Kaine pushing Pence into extreme positions on abortion and gay marriage on the other.

I wouldn't worry about it.

This guy can't handle the prospect of losing once, much less twice. And it's not like he has any kind of political ideology he wants to promote, the only thing Trump has interest in is Trump.

Salt of the Earth. Of course, I'm a transplant from the East Coast, as well as a NW Indiana resident -- we're probably closer to a Chicago 'burb (demographically, politically, etc) than to the rest of the state in all reality.

Clinton now ahead by 4+ points in our polls-only model, with a 75% chance of winning on Election Day.

No sign yet of Clinton's post-debate surge abating.

In fact, past 24 hours of state polls have maybe been the worst yet for Trump.
Every time the general public gets a look at him in a big national event, his #s go in the crapper. It's amazing, really, exactly how much of a liability he is to his own campaign.

Rasmussen :lmao:

Even it has had Clinton barely ahead recently.   That and the LA Times tracking are the only places favoring Trump (per RCP)

Can a math person tell me how Hillary can be favored in most battleground states, some by a large margin, and still only have a 75% chance of winning?

Well here is some unreal conflicts of interest between Clinton and the FBI director supposedly investigating her.  Not too big a shocker with it being Clinton and all but I don't recall a politician ever being this invincible.

The conservative publication Breitbart notes one further connection between James Comey and the Clinton Foundation, this time regarding his brother Peter Comey. As the publication was able to confirm, Peter Comey is the “Senior Director of Real Estate Operations for the Americas” for DLA Piper.

Interestingly, Peter Comey took out a mortgage on a home that is owned by James Comey. The $711,000 mortgage substantiates a financial relationship between James Comey and his brother.

DLA Piper is the number six campaign contributor to Hillary Clinton's political campaigns since 1989 with over $939,101 in total contributions. It has also given between $50,000-$100,000 to the Clinton Foundation. If the name DLA Piper looks familiar, it was the firm tasked with auditing the Clinton Foundation.

Serious question - how do people end up reading stuff from sources like that? Not just reading it but apparently finding it credible enough to share in a serious manner? Other hard hitting articles to be found there:
