Well, yeah.  But given the fact that Trump hasn't even publicly disavowed support from a guy like David Duke (equally repugnant but much more well known, and thus potentially damaging), it shouldn't exactly be unthinkable that someone like Johnson would be seen as a viable choice as a delegate.

What???  He disavowed him publicly AT LEAST 10 times in the week following the Tapper interview.  Not to mention that he disavowed him twice prior to the interview, going all the way back to August of 2015.

An unbelievably ignorant post, even by your standards.

CDL is one of the worst posters on this site, it's pretty widely known. The guy has a few screws loose, we all laughed at him for a while but now most of us just pity the kid.

They know that. The more you keep repeating A lie the more people will believe it. Dem Politics this year.

It's sad, but in a way it is helping turn things around.  I think a major part of Trump's rise is because people are sick and tired of Libs and their propaganda.  It has become a big problem and people have had enough.  The media and higher ed is littered with biased Libs indoctrinating people with their views.  And they'll use the most unsavory methods to do so - shutting down Conservative speech, violence, SJW campaigns trying to get people fired from their jobs...  Just look at the latest news with twitter and facebook having biased policies against Conservatives.  It's disgusting.  I tell you what - history will not be kind to this era.  In many ways it is more pervasive and destructive than McCarthyism.

Waiting for someone to inform Donald all his emails will be public.

I have zero confidence he really understands this issue, but then what issue does he really grasp?
I'm looking forward to when Donald claims that Hillary sent secret emails to people on Wall Street. (You know, the same "Wall Street guys" that Donald is friends with. I'm sure Donald will have no trouble turning up those emails. They'll be right next to Obama's birth certificate, Ted Cruz's used condoms, and Antonin Scalia's poisoned pillow.)

Read Drudgereport, watch Fox, listen to Hannity or Rush and I think you can get your "unsavory propaganda" balanced out just fine.

 at McCarthyism.

Trump is going to be a lot more liberal than many may think or want.
In the conversations here the causes for supporting Trump have been as varied as fish in a lake and as hard to pin down:

  • Unvarnished truth teller.
  • Will destroy the GOP / party system / DC political cycle.
  • "Wall"
  • Hate Hillary.
  • He's a businessman, businessmen know things plus let's run the country like a business.
  • Entertaining, funny, it's all a joke anyway.
  • Isolationism (neo-Lindbergh / America First)
  • Protectionism (neo-Taft)
  • "I want my own Obama"
  • A reaaallll conservative, unlike Romney & McCain.
Of all these I find the last most laughable.

Who could possibly even think to compare whiny college kids "suppressing" speech and thought with protests and complaints, or even private companies using their private fora to do  so, to the federal government doing the same through Congressional committees and criminal charges. Let alone actually conclude that the former was worse?

Oh, right. Trump supporters. Shine on you crazy diamonds.

Facebook disputes that (for what it is worth) and considering the number of likes my conservative nephew gives to every crackpot fringe right wing posting, it doesn't appear conservative voices are being stifled.

Facebook Denies Bias Against Conservatives Share on Twitter

Facebook denied a report that it suppressed news about conservative issues on its “trending” news feature, located in the top-right-hand corner of the social-media site. Executive Tom Stocky said there was “no evidence” that Monday’s Gizmodo report was true. Anonymous sources in the report said Facebook’s “news curators” manipulated the trending-stories feature by suppressing conservative viewpoints and injecting news stories that weren’t popular. Conservatives lashed out at the company.
And if there is some suppression of conservatives on Twitter, they aren't doing a good job of it, as a lot of anti-Hillary, pro-Trump, pro- conservative hashtags are trending everyday.

And comparing this to McCarthyism is ludicrous.

Ludicrous is right.  Why, if I didn't know any better I might think Trump supporters actually embrace authoritarianism and suppression of minority viewpoints.  Hey, wait a second ....

"Suppression of minority viewpoints"?  Can you how done examples of this?  I've been to some large Trump rallies (and protests) and the only ones trying to suppress views were on the Left.

Just call me Syd Barrett.

We can do his treatment of the media too if you like. That's a fun little tangent on the whole suppression angle.  Shall we?

Donald is literally advocating changing the 1st Amendment to make it easier for politicians to silence reporters. And he thinks police have a duty to remove protestors from his rallies.

That's about the most anti Free Speech position I have heard of or even imagined from any American political candidate.

Interesting bit of info I saw about exit polls from yesterday. Trump voters put "Speaks his mind" above "Shares my values" when voting for Trump.

Which means that they care more about someone who isn't a double-faced lying politician rather than someone who they actually agree with.

That's how bad other politicians are. It's pretty much all people see in Hillary, that she's a pandering liar. People see Trump and they figure "I don't agree with him, but, at least I have an idea of what he's actually thinking."

They'd rather vote for a blowhard who's consistent that they disagree with on the issues instead of someone who panders to them one day, but they don't know if she means it.

Nobody lies and contradicts himself more than Trump.  It's not close. Here's a fun but necessarily incomplete list to get you started.  Happy reading!

BTW what I hear when people say they like that Trump "speaks his mind" is  ... not what you hear.  Let's leave it at that.

Time to put all deadbeat useless people in their place...Get a job or get out...We don't need your sorry ###...You contribute nothing to our quest for greatness.............You mean like that?

Yeah, I've debunked this over and over in here.  I even went so far as analyzing all of the incidents of violence at Trump protests and you know how many of them were situations where it was clearly obvious that a Trump supporter instigated violence?  It was the sucker punch and potentially another one.  And as for his call to "knock the crap out of " anyone seen getting ready to throw a tomato at him, I have no problem at all with that.  There was credible intell prior to that rally that protesters were going to do this.  People have a right to self defense.

I also provided a detailed writeup of the Trump rally and protest in Hartford a few weeks back.  Might want to look that one up as well.  ALL the despicable behavior that night came from the protesters.  All of it.  And Trump said at least 5 times during his rally not to hurt and protesters, as he does at every rally.  Nothing to see here, except another example of the liberal media distorting things.

Too many laughing faces, comes across as desperate.

You think protesters who are creating a disturbance at rallies, preventing people from hearing the speaking, and at times inciting violence - have a right to stay in that rally?  Oh my God Saint, I'm starting to worry about you.

Hillary: 27-30% Honest in FL/OH/PA

Donald: 35-39% Honest in FL/OH/PA

Hillary has a huge problem here, and it's going to get worse IMO. - However: Sanders' Honest/Trustworthy numbers are/were great IIRC, something like in the 80s? He slayed Hillary with voters for whom Honesty was the no. 1 issue.

Once again, like almost every other issue that Hillary is potentially weak on, Donald is probably the absolute worse person to take advantage of this flaw of Hillary's. After Hillary there can't be anyone in all the candidates who had worse Honest/Trustworthy numbers than Donald.

Hillary is going down...and not in the way Bill likes...

Only thing I disagree with is "starting to worry" I've been worried about this guy's mental health for at least 2 months now lol. Think about it, all he does all day is post negative stuff, he never has anything positive to say, what a life. Worst part is its usually a dishonest spin to make it negative.

You asked how he suppresses minority viewpoints. One of many answers to the question of how he suppresses minority viewpoints is that he condones and encourages violence against protesters. Doing so is pretty clear suppression of minority viewpoints, both in the present (by silencing existing protests) and in the future (by discouraging future protests by threatening violence).  Changing the subject to a kindergarten finger-pointing argument about who started it doesn't make this any less true.

Wanna do the suppression via antagonizing and restricting media now, or save that for another time? That one's a doozy.

Their whole crew is becoming unhinged...

Contrarily:

- you think elected officials should be ordering the police to remove dissenters?

In America, I mean.

" You asked how he suppresses minority viewpoints. One of many answers to the question of how he suppresses minority viewpoints is that he condones and encourages violence against protesters. " You're a liar, taking things out of context

" Wanna do the suppression via antagonizing and restricting media now, or save that for another time? " Nothing wrong with fighting back against the media when they lie about him 24/7

Ok here's something nice about Donald:

  • Great natural politician, has brought back old fashioned barnstorming.
  • Challenged the party system just like everyone always says they want.
  • Hot wife. I like her.
  • 2 Hot daughters. I like them.
  • Love his family's immigration story, the grandfather, the mother, the grandmother and the dad had amazing life stories.
Ok, your turn.

Isn't bought out, only accepts small donations.

Wants to focus on Americans first, and not being bought out he can actually do it.

Great instincts, one of the first to say Iraq was a mistake. He wrote about Bin Laden before 9/11.

Won't let political correctness get in the way of keeping the country safe and using common sense.

His giant ego is a positive here, because it will force him to try his hardest to be the best President he could possibly be.

Plus much more.

This seems to be flying under the radar here and also getting downplayed a bit generally, not sure why

Donald Trump Says He Won't Release Tax Returns Until After Election

So much for attacking Clinton on transparency. Also obviously another example of him being a fraud and full of ####, given this:

Just on Sunday, the presumptive Republican nominee told NBC’s “Meet the Press” that he’d be willing to release them should the audit be finished in time.

When asked if he would pledge to release them before the election, Trump responded, "Sure, if -- if -- if the auditors finish. I'll do it as fast as the audit is finished. Remember this, I've already given my financials. And my financials show I'm worth more than $10 billion by any stretch of the imagination.”

Such a move is nearly unprecedented in modern elections. Indeed, Trump will be the first presumptive major party nominee since 1976 not to release his tax returns.

...

Trump had said he would release his taxes “at some point,” later adding he was in “no rush."

And, in an interview with Stephanopoulos the day that he announced his candidacy, Trump seemed open to the idea of releasing his returns.

"We'll see. I mean, we're gonna see. I would say the answer is 'yes,' but I sort of have been - putting it on Hillary [Clinton]," Trump said then.

Clinton released her tax returns in July 2015.
Not that any of his supporters will care, of course. I assume they'll lap up whatever awkward excuse he comes up with for this without question and come back thirst for more.  Sound about right, fellas?

I love that his only real concern with releasing these is that it validates his bull#### claims that he's worth 10 billion. This guy is such a total doosh

He's hiding something or multiple things.

He's hiding something or multiple things.
Well yeah, of course.  The more fun question is what is he hiding?

Obvious answer is what General says, he's not nearly as rich as he says. But he could just counter that by saying that his wealth is in real property assets, which I don't think would necessarily show up on income tax returns.

My bet is that he gives very little money, if any, to charity, which would expose his claims to to be a great philanthropist as lies. Lies are nothing new for Trump and his supporters have no problem ignoring them, but if the lie also doubles as exposing his populism and concern for the less well off as horse#### opportunism that might play differently.
