So Ryan says something and that means we aren't deporting any illegals now? lol?

As for the wall Trump always said he would only have the wall at specific spots and not the entire border.

AND LASTLY remember Trump always goes for the most extreme positions and settles on what he really wanted to begin with. That doesn't mean he lied to his voters because we didn't take everything he said literally to begin with.

That's right, our President, once acted like another person to brag about many chicks he could bang in People magazine. Then he lied about it when busted :lol:

May have missed it. Didn't hear anything about a path. Just not aggressively deporting them. Regardless, it sounds like he'll be reasonable even if a path isn't given. But that rhetoric was extremely missing in the election. I'd love to see a path bc I want that but also to see Trump supporters react.

That is fine.  I think most rational people agreed this was the way to do it.  Give them a path but also don't make it easier than the traditional path.

Pretty sure Trump implied deporting them all though.  And it goes against his rhetoric of them only sending us their 'rapists and murderers.'  I welcome the change, but I'm also not going to forget what he said.  Have a feeling a lot of his campaign was just talk.

I think you have me really wrong, Walking Boot. I don't like Donald Trump because of some of the terrible things he said. But from this point forward I'll be judging him for what he does. Let's see how it plays out.

No I heard him say directly "they all have to leave, then some of them can come back." But if he changes his mind I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

 
Also, as I wrote earlier, I have no problem with deporting violent felons who are illegal immigrants. But Trump asserts there are 2-3 million of these, and other sources say less than 300,000. I suspect the lesser number is more correct but one way or the other, I don't know how we are going to "round up" these people (the ones who are not already in prison) without violating all sorts of individual liberties. I hope it's all talk.

He said he was considering work visas while their immigration status pends. 

 
The clip I saw earlier said nothing about amnesty. It said "we'll figure out what to do with them later". Prison work camps IMO.

I don't expect them to go searching for all illegal immigrants and deport them but they need to close the border, let Border Patrol do their job. Deport all illegals that commit a crime not just violent crimes, even traffic violations. If your name comes up for any reason cya. 

Build a wall some physical where needed but mostly technological using  drones, UAV and other high tech equipment.

That would be a good start.

Being the first family can't be easy, just ask Chelsea or those Bush twins or the Obama girls, nothing about living in the spotlight like that sounds like any fun and for a kid it just can't be easy.  
But still I don't feel bad for any of the adult Trumps, they knew what they go into and they are all sleazy enough to benefit from it.  I don't  feel bad for the hot daughter, I don't feel bad for the not hot daughter, I don't feel bad for the sleazy son and I don't feel bad for the even sleazier one.  I don't feel bad for the son in law or the hot daughter in law and I don't feel bad for the no-so-hot daughter in law.   I do feel for Baron because that kid is going to get picked on like Trump picked on Jeb! and that sucks and he's never going to have a normal life and that isn't fair.   The only other one so feel bad for  is Melania
 
You may wonder why I feel bad for Melania, she's and adult who has benefited greatly from Trump's fame and money.  But what I feel bad for is that she was probably promised a different lifestyle when Trump picked her out of some Slovakian or Slovenian village.  She wants to be pampered and massaged and wined and dined and now she is stuck sitting at dinner Mitch McConnell who looks like he smells like cheese and not the good French kind.  
She has to pretend to care about kids both here and abroad, she has to keep some stupid organic garden snd pretend to care about child labor and not look disgusted when some kid drools on her Jimmy Choo's during the White House Easter Egg hunt.  She is going to be asked to travel to a bunch of not glamorous places and be around a bunch of boring foreigners. She'll be tasked with some lame thing like Just Say No or childhood obesity and she'll hate every second of it because she'll be forced to come into contact with some little cesspool of snot and poop and whatever virus is keeping little Johnny's nose running. 
 
Eventually she'll have to host her replacement and look cordial when all she will want to think is "Mrs Kaine, you look like my frumpy babooska" and still smile and act normal.

The interesting thing about judging Trump's behavior now is that the voting public was clearly lying to the pollsters to some degree during the 2016 election.  So you might try to judge Trump and build a case for or against him moving into the 2020 election, but you no longer can be confident that it is working.  You're running blind now.  That makes analytics almost impossible.  How can you determine what matters?  What should be the focus of conversation and what should be ignored?  You can no longer make those decisions.

 
I'm going to say a few nice things about Trump's campaign:

- They outworked Hillary in states that counted. - Credit is seriously due here.

- Trump occasionally said nice things, people forget that. I remember at the end of one of the debates that the two pols were asked to say something complimentary about the other. Hillary could not think of anything nice to say about Trump, she said his children were great but she could not actually bring herself to say Trump is a good father. - Trump came back with Hillary is a fighter who fightingly fights, something that could have been written by her own campaign, but somehow I think he came off better in that exchange and it was the closing moment in the townhall.

- Trump is already showing a willingness even an inclination to go left. Some could have predicted that, and did, but for all his outlandish right extreme statements there was also a many a time when he did not parrot the typical GOP view or was just vague. He was aware people might be turned off and he did not turn them off.

- Pence did better than expected in the VP debate and in general. Somehow I think people were expecting something else. But as we are constantly told in 08 people seem to be turned off by culture wars and yet I think it was Kaine who was pounding that rock repeatedly.

Something that came out of WikiLeaks is that apparently Chelsea is friends with the Bush girls. And apparently she is good friends with Ivanka as well. It's rarefied air, not too many people to relate to. Barron is going to have a ridiculously massive ego, he looks like mini-Donald but instead of just being raised the scion of a Manhattan real estate tycoon he will be the scion of The One. Hopefully his siblings and the staff keeps his head tied down.

I have no idea what this means. Analytics? 

My judgment of Trump's actions in office will have nothing to do with his chances of re-election. It will be solely based on whether or not I like what he's doing. 

 
I think the unpopularity of both candidates probably screwed too much with the likely voter models in this election. Plus all the outside noise like the wikileaks/Russian hacks, Comey influence, etc., and the national polls were still ultimately pretty accurate.

The consensus of national polls was a narrow Clinton preference (2-3% range) and the popular vote margin will end up with Clinton 1-2% ahead. State level polls, particularly in the blue states that Trump ended up winning was obviously off and probably under-polled.
