Great stuff, also love this pic of Christie/Trump.This is a fun read. Former critics of Trump in the GOP with their previous comments contrasted with more recent ones.
My favorite:
Another fun little tidbit I've noticed- a lot of Republicans don't seem to understand what the word "unacceptable" means.
Unlike Trump I don't think I got “more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military.” because of my time in ROTC.Do you? I have no clue
It would be before, if it wasn't for that biased, terrible judge granting Trump's motion to delay the trial until after the election. Sad!Just wish that trial was before instead of after the election. Would just add to the trainwreck. Then again, losing the election followed by losing the trial would be fun too.
like that will happen and even if he strings a couple weeks together it isn't anything but a short term act.I'll talk facts with you any day of the week, chief. My positions on race have been consistent and well documented in here for many years. They are well thought out, fact based, and emphasize empowerment over dependence. And yes, I am eminently qualified to talk on these issues. Being from a multi racial family, with a black step mother and a black sister who is one of the two or three most important people in my life - DOES give me credibility and insights that frankly the tall white boy with the guilt complex isn't privy to.My biggest beef with Higgs is his weird comments about race. I.e., "I'm the least racist person there is," (typically stated after expressing frustration that blacks "have it better than whites" when it comes to applying for college, or other benefits that institutions give minorities over whites). Statements indicating that blacks have it better than whites when it comes to college applications -- which may be true, I haven't studied the issue enough, but it ignores the MASSIVE abuse and hardships that black people have been on the receiving end on in this country historically, and ignores the MASSIVE effect it has on people even today.
And then says something like "but why isn't there a white bar association" -- and the fact that he doesn't even realize how offensive a thing like that is to say.
And THEN excuses it by saying: "but I have family that is black!" Which somehow excuses him from analytically thinking about things. If he wanted to respond to my post about the historic treatment of the black population by refuting my historical recitation as inapplicable in today's climate, I'd disagree, but at least we could have a respectful conversation about it. But instead, he refuses to talk facts but simply relies on "but my sister is black," as it somehow gives him more insight than some stranger on the internet. What? How is that even relevant?
bananafish, I'm not sure if you made the comment about me knowing more than Higgs about racism because we are faceboook friends. But sure, if it was somehow relevant that a person, for example, was raised in a black community, raised in part by an uncle who is black when dad left, has black siblings, in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston in the 1970s, then sure, we could compare resumes. But that doesn't make me immune from being racist or sexist or a general ^sshole.
Finally, I'm also about the whitest nerd in any given room full of white guys, and have thusly benefited in this country by being white, and tall, and straight. I'm extremely lucky that I was born looking like I do in this country in this time period. I'm consistently blown away by white men who are so angry about their place in this country. We have it great! What's frustrating about Higgs is that he is not someone like Peens, but he's actually smart, and thoughtful, and even introspective. He just occasionally says things that fly in the face of my worldview, and I don't understand how he can be that smart and still hold those opinions, knowing the history of race in this country. But I could be missing something I guess.
It would be before, if it wasn't for that biased, terrible judge granting Trump's motion to delay the trial until after the election. Sad!
You gotta love Paul Ryan's timing. He finally pulls the trigger on the endorsement we all knew was coming and like 5 minutes later the racist comments on the Trump U judge come out. I think I heard theThe Republican Party members saying they are hopeful Trump to tone it down is the worstlike that will happen and even if he strings a couple weeks together it isn't anything but a short term act.
It also has been enjoyable to someone who is not a huge fan of the current line of leading Republucans - watching McConnell, Ryan kiss up to Trump had been fantastic in showing them as the losers they are. One of the side benefits this Donald circus has provided. Especially enjoyed Ryan's extra couple weeks of photo ops looking concerned and troubled as if they were any doubt he'd latch on to Trump's side.
Exactly what's wrong with the process right now, being held hostage to a guy because he has an R behind his name (or a D for that matter).
from here. Hahahhaha Bernie supporters....Bernie supporters beating up Bernie supporters before learning they're all Bernie supporters.

I'd be uncomfortable with you calling everyone "chief" if I didn't assume you have a native american 2nd cousinI'll talk facts with you any day of the week, chief.
If we've learned anything from Elizabeth Warren it's that ANYONE can be Native American as long as you identify as one.I'd be uncomfortable with you calling everyone "chief" if I didn't assume you have a native american 2nd cousin
You'll never believe this but my son is 1/16th Native American.I'd be uncomfortable with you calling everyone "chief" if I didn't assume you have a native american 2nd cousin
And regarding reporters:From the TrumpU playbook. Wonder why they would worry about an AG showing up?
ATTORNEY GENERAL

•By law, you do not have to show them any personal information unless they present a warrant; however, you are expected to be courteous.

As for you PC insinuation, which is really quite pathetic, I've been calling people chief since the mid 80's. And I'm not stopping now. If you don't like it I suggest you develop a thicker skin and realize that everything isn't racial.

http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/donald-trump-does-not-have-campaignDonald Trump does not have a campaign
Donald Trump is a candidate without a campaign – and it’s becoming a serious problem.
Republicans working to elect Trump describe a bare-bones effort debilitated by infighting, a lack of staff to carry out basic functions, minimal coordination with allies and a message that’s prisoner to Trump’s momentary whims.
“Bottom line, you can hire all the top people in the world, but to what end? Trump does what he wants,” a source close to the campaign said.
In reporting on Trump’s operation, NBC News talked to three Trump aides and two sources working closely alongside the campaign, all of whom requested anonymity in order speak freely.
Veteran operatives are shocked by the campaign’s failure to fill key roles. There is no communications team to deal with the hundreds of media outlets covering the race, no rapid response director to quickly rebut attacks and launch new ones, and a limited cast of surrogates who lack a cohesive message.
“They don’t or can’t cover it all, and there are things that happen that need to be addressed immediately and don’t get addressed at all, and that hurts the candidate,” a source within the campaign groused last month.
The campaign is bringing on a new senior staffer Jim Murphy, as first reported by The New York Times, and a source said more communications hires are expected to follow. But they lag far behind the Clinton campaign, which has over a dozen senior staff dedicated to communications as well as teams devoted to modern data and analytics, an area where Trump is publicly skeptical of hiring. In addition, Clinton enjoys support from established super PACs like Correct The Record and American Bridge that respond to attacks and promote opposition research.
Aides appeared unprepared for the Trump University story last week, despite knowing in advance that unsealed court documents would reveal explosive allegations of fraud. Beyond a short video of former students praising the program that was posted online, the campaign offered scant pushback.
The absence of a response to the Trump U story left the candidate to fill the vacuum with a torrent of demagoguery against the federal judge overseeing the case, Gonzalo Curiel, who Trump said was biased by his “Mexican heritage” despite his Indiana birthplace.
Trump’s comments against the judge horrified many supporters, but the real estate mogul rebuffed efforts by campaign staff, donors and party officials to back off the incendiary claim this weekend, per sources, telling them he was unwilling to look like he had caved to pressure.
“These are things that will defeat [us],” a second source within the campaign lamented.
The Curiel story made Trump’s already difficult task of lining up surrogates even harder, as supporters like former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell distanced themselves from Trump’s remarks over the weekend.
With even early Trump backers like Rep. Chris Collins unwilling to defend his proposed Muslim travel ban or calls for mass deportations of illegal immigrants, the campaign is increasingly reliant on a small cast of mostly obscure figures to carry its message.
“It’s not a real surrogate operation,” the campaign source said. “They’re supporters. They’re not on there for their value or merit.”
The campaign source described the overall situation as “dysfunctional” and warned that if Trump failed to hire a full communications team by the convention, they would likely lose the election.
Making things difficult is the ongoing rivalry between Trump’s top adviser Paul Manafort, who was brought in to professionalize the campaign in March, and longtime staff like campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and press secretary Hope Hicks, who is essentially the lone media contact for reporters.

Has Trump issued a statement in response to this via Twitter yet?http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/donald-trump-does-not-have-campaign
- This is not an insult, this is truly and legitimately a clown show.
Has Trump issued a statement in response to this via Twitter yet?
Suggestions: "crooked biased sleazy reporting, nobody trusts msnbc" or "we will have the best campaign with many many of the best people."
I like the closing line there. So... "USA?"Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 3h3 hours ago
I am getting bad marks from certain pundits because I have a small campaign staff. But small is good, flexible, save money and number one!
I thought he only hired the best people? Wasn't that the defense for him not knowing anything about policy?http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/donald-trump-does-not-have-campaign

This country started going downhill the day fantasy football guys started wielding political power amongst the unwashed masses.Bryant and Dodds are part of the liberal power elite conspiring to enslave freedom loving Americans everywhere. I knew it.
I read somewhere (I tried a cursory google search but couldn't find, if anyone can help please link) a few weeks ago that went in to Trump as a super paranoid guy that is worried about making his circle too large. It's not that he doesn't hire the best people - though he doesn't - it's that he doesn't hire people.
Yeah...thats why. Most of them have been banned, for being Trump fans.
He wouldn’t even keep all the money — if he happened to make a profit, he would turn the funds over to charity.
“If I had a choice of making lots of money or imparting lots of knowledge, I think I’d be as happy to impart knowledge as to make money,” Trump said at the inaugural news conference in the spring of 2005.
All told, Trump University received about $40 million in revenue from more than 5,000 participants before it halted operations in 2010 amid lawsuits in New York and California alleging widespread fraud. The New York attorney general estimated Trump netted more than $5 million during the five years it was active. He has since acknowledged that he gave none of the profits to charity.
Plot twist: "Charity" is the name of one of his mistresses.
Slightly different point here but maybe not...I read somewhere (I tried a cursory google search but couldn't find, if anyone can help please link) a few weeks ago that went in to Trump as a super paranoid guy that is worried about making his circle too large.
http://www.newshounds.us/corey_lewandowski_does_not_deny_trump_campaign_offices_are_bugged_052916Corey Lewandowski Does Not Deny Trump Campaign Offices Are Bugged
But the most interesting exchange came at the end. Wallace referenced a New York Times report about troubles among Trump’s campaign staff that included this:
“A sense of paranoia is growing among his campaign staff members, including some who have told associates they believe that their Trump Tower offices in New York may be bugged, according to three people briefed on the conversations.”
Lewandowski dismissed the entire article as “media hype” and insisted that the team is “very cohesisve.”
And then there was this:
WALLACE: And in 10 seconds, is there any bugging going on at the Trump Tower?
LEWANDOWSKI: I think that’s a lot of speculation. I don’t think that’s the case at all. And I think we’re happy with how our offices are set up.
That is no outright denial. If I were a Trump campaign worker, I’d be very careful about what I say.
Well screw Charity then!Plot twist: "Charity" is the name of one of his mistresses.
Trump fans are more likely to have jobs.Hey give Higgs some credit: at least he continues to be in this thread defending his man.

Because the presidency isn't a sitcom?Hey all you Trump haters...Have you seen and laughed at "All In The Family"?...If so, how can you be against a Trump Presidency...It would be 4 years of Archie Bunker.. and a bunch of Meatheads like you all...
