Official Donald Trump for President thread (2 Viewers)

Call me crazy, but I think this is a good to great pick for Trump.  His most logical path for victory comes through the Midwest and Pence helps there.  Is it enough, who knows, but it makes putting WI, MI, and OH (all states with Republican governors) in play easier.  Of course, then he still needs to pick off PA, VA, or FL to win.

Is Pence popular in Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio?  I realize those states are geographically close to Indiana but I don't know enough about who the folks are that are likely to be excited by Pence.  Seems like it's more evangelicals in the South that like him.

We had a thread here somewhere at somepoint that asked roughly how much would you accept in cash money to vote for Donald Trump.  I'm not going to say that no amount of money is enough,but I don't know at what point I don't feel guilty and dirty about it.

I would venture to say that the average voter in Ohio has no idea who Pence is.

I have no idea if he's popular, but they all have fiscally conservative governors like Pence (no idea on the social issues), so I can see why Manafort would think he'd have some appeal.  Of course, Pence is much more a pure Reagan Republican economically (low spending to go with low taxes, but with free trade), so he's fiscal beliefs are at odds with some of Trump's populism/fair trade rhetoric.  

Like I said, I can see the logic and why it might work out which is more than I can say for the other 3 guys up for the position (and I don't think any of the 4 are great choices by themselves).

BLM started AFTER George Zimmerman was acquitted in Trayvon Martin's death.  It wasn't anything more than a twitter hashtag until AFTER the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.  

And I'm not sure how you can claim that the police were properly doing their job in the Eric Garner case.  Why should the President have an officer's back that choked a person to death?  Or is he just supposed to ignore that to back other officers?  Are we not supposed to be outraged at the people we empower crossing the line and killing unnecessarily?  You think the man that wants to ban Muslims, thinks illegal immigrants are mostly racists, claims a judge can't do his job because of his race, and thinks second generation Americans are pretty bad is going to bring the country together?  Why, because he has "my African American"?

Burying your head in the sand has to stop.  We've been talking about an America of equality for decades, but now that some people are actually demanding it - that's the root cause of the problem?

Yeah, I can't abide by this.  Sure, in a normal election cycle I can get behind this.  But not this one.  Not with Trump running.  Not with a xenophobic, bigoted, ignorant, petulant pervert running.  So yes, I hold ill will towards any and all that support Trump.  If you were my friend, I'd disown you.  This is too important to brush aside.

His favorability ratings in Indiana are underwater.  I don't see how he particularly helps in any area of the country.  Though he might be seen as a stabilizing force - the one credible choice Trump's made.   

 
I enjoy jokes about the logo as much as anyone else, but let's also remember what the reaction to Trump's pick should really be about- laughing at Chris Christie.

The President has to console grieving families of military members that have given the ultimate sacrifice, law enforcement officers who sacrificed while protecting, victims of terrorism, etc.  I don't see Trump being well cut-out for that role.

Bad day for Christie.  Didn't get the VP nod, his long-time friend and Port Authority appointee just plead guilty to bribery (investigation was related to Bridgegate), and one of his former cabinet members, Jamie Fox, was just charged with conspiracy to commit bribery.
