It is an interesting paradox. Would goods be made here if American labor costs were made competitive through some kind of protectionist policy? The answer is yes. Would you make products in America that you can't sell as cheaply as products made in China, Mexico and Bangladesh? Of course not. If not protectionism, how to do fix the problem? Renegotiate the trade agreements so America doesn't become a dumping ground for cheap stuff. Got a better answer?bigbottom said:

Where is he getting the lithium and cobalt needed for his batteries? Hint: Not here. What about germanium needed for night vision goggles? Rare earths for strategic military needs? I don't claim to know enough about international trade or the global marketplace to prescribe the optimal solution. But I do recognize the irony of accusing China and Mexico of screwing over American workers all while willingly choosing to have your products made in China and Mexico instead of in America (and there is indeed an American apparel industry).
I don't know how it's construed but I'm simply suggesting we remove all the Muslims who have illegally entered these European countries and are putting a strain on their society and economy.
If we had a place to bring them like a safe haven in the country they came from, I'd say that's a win-win for everyone.

Funny, even with as many holes as are getting poked in this absurd policy stance, I think you have thought it through more than our current Republican Presidential Candidate.
The ones not smart enough to go back the way they came, sure. Give them 3-months to pack their bags and get going. Even offer free transportation.
After that let them know their time is up and the max capacity of the European Union and the respective countries' military will be used to remove them after this point.
They travelled thousands of miles to get there, they can travel thousands of miles back. Those who don't return willingly will get what they deserve.

This is what those of us wanting to save refugees are trying to avoid. The U.S. Stayed out of it and refused to accept refugees while Germany became what it became. The refugees fleeing Syria and other lands right now are fleeing the most sadistic, genocidal maniacal regime since (possibly including) Hitler.
Turning aside a cruise ship full of refugees is one of the darkest moments in our history, made worse by how many of them suffered and died upon return to Europe.

For me, it's entertainment mostly. I find listening to conservative talk radio far more entertaining than liberal talk radio (back when that was actually a thing). That said, I can only be described as a "lib" in the loosest of terms.
