But let's apply the same standard to Mr. Trump. He lies to make himself look good. He lies as a business practice. He lies about his business practices. He lies about basic obectively verifiable facts...constantly.

At best, and I mean absolute best for Trump, the question of honesty is a wash. But I think the bravado with which Trump tells absolute whoppers is a character trait that is fairly unique: he lies and doesn't care if he gets caught because he has little to no regard for the truth or for the people he is lying to.

Agree that Trump lies as well.  This goes back to my original point.  The media fawns all over Hillary and says Trump is the devil.  It is comical.

I was only talking about the specific issue of lying. When you actually focus on other stuff Trump has done and said, he wins the ####bag prize going away.

And I say that as somebody who genuinely dislikes Clinton.

But when you look at the economic ramifications and safety of the country you are forced to vote Trump over Hillary.  Not the best candidate by any means because he says some very stupid things.

The fact that you are trying to suggest that they are in any way equivalent is utterly absurd. Hillary is on the scummier end of the normal range of distribution for politicians. Trump is miles outside that range; he's an open bigot, a clueless moron, and his entire business career is based on ####### people over to enrich himself. Blindly partisan lemmings like you are what is wrong with this country.

That's your take. I would submit it isn't well thought out or even vaguely rational. In fact, I would say it is quite the opposite. And the fact that you offer it up as if it is clearly evident doesn't reflect well on you.

I won't be voting for either of them. If Clinton wins, as I expect her to, I'll hope she doesn't screw too many things up over the next 4-8 years. If Trump were to somehow win, which I think is very unlikely, I'll get a chuckle from the Schadenfreude Clinton's loss will provide, but I'll be constantly worried about the future of the country.

Not blindly partisan.   I have stated many times Trump was not my choice.  Unfortunately,  when looking at the alternative in Hillary you are forced to vote for Trump.   Maybe after 4 years of Hillary the Republicans will put up a decent candidate.   Too bad Romney didn't run again this year.

So who is forcing what now?

 
Only one day, but looks like Trump might have stemmed the bleeding today... had a few polls come out that looked a bit better for him, and Clinton's average lead dropped back to about 7.6%.  Worth watching to see if it sort of bounces around right here or some of her convention bounce fades.

You cite his foreign policy / national security positions as a strength, when they've been repudiated as incredibly dangerous by dozens of Republican foreign policy experts. His economic policies have been panned by bipartisan economists across the board. If you actually think his ideas are good, that's worse than "because Hannity told me so," really.

I don't believe raising taxes makes sense at a time where the country hasn't seem GDP growth north of 3% in over 8 years.  I believe we need to cut spending,  I believe we need to stop accepting refugees from Syria.  So yes, this aligns more with Trump than Hillary.  

 
His economic plan, while a little light on specifics, is actually pretty good.  His punchers chance is selling himself as a businessman who can get the economy roaring again, and this was a good start.

There is more to foreign policy than a wall and refugees.

We've got some pretty jacked technology to defend against attacks from the outside.  Where we have a weakness is attacks coming from the inside.  You dope smokers need to understand that not everyone that immigrates here wants to sing kumbaya and be peaceful.

Agreed.  We'll agree to disagree.  That is what politics is all about.  Hillary's run as Secretary of State was a good preview of what to expect, not good.
