Official Donald Trump for President thread (5 Viewers)

Let's see if Trump can go a week without asking his supporters to murder another U.S. citizen. Then maybe we can re-evaluate his credentials to be this country's president again.

The point is that real estate is difficult to move, and that seems t be where he has done the best. As to other enterprises, like any businessman, he will invest where he is likely to make a better return with fewer regulatory delays (not fewer regulations, but fewer delays because of them).  If investing in America means a better return with fewer delays, then that is where a savvy businessman invests. The one thing Trump has in his favor is that he recognizes that the United States is more hostile to businesses than many other countries. To "make America great again" means cutting back on that hostility. This is something Hillary doesn't understand at all - we will continue to see businesses leaving the US under her watch.

Is that enough to get me to vote for Trump? No it isn't, because I don't think he can do it.

This fact is starting to look like a symbol of the fracture, decline and eventual destruction of the Republican Party, IMO. Trump's voting bloc is loyal but small, and there just aren't enough true Republicans left to counteract him.

I think Bueno misstated the stat but it's a funky one anyway - it's this: there haven't been 3 straight whole DEM presidential terms with successive elected presidents since AJax + MVB. 

So that takes out FDR + Truman and their 5 straight terms for instance.

A President Donald Trump might push for Americans accused of terrorism to be tried in a military tribunal at the U.S. Navy base at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, the Republican nominee told the Miami Herald on Thursday.

How could Trump now be claiming Hillary Clinton was too incompetent to be president? “Well, I didn't think too much about it,” he said again. In other words, Trump claimed in sworn testimony that he was writing blog posts without thinking and said many things he did not believe. (He made the same claim when confronted with his praise of men who were then his rivals for the Republican presidential nomination, including former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, former New York Governor George Pataki and former Texas Governor Rick Perry.)

In that same 2016 deposition, Trump was confronted with a marketing video in which he said professors and adjunct professors would be teaching the classes for Trump University. He was then asked if he knew the identities of the adjunct professors. “I know names, but I really don't know the identities,” he said. As with many of Trump’s dismissals of evidence when he is caught, the answer makes no sense. P.S.: He never gave the names “he knew” of the adjunct professors; that would have been a challenge, since those people did not exist.

Here's an honest question for Trump supporters: Trump gets caught daily telling lies. Some big and some small. And that's not a new thing - there are mountains of evidence over decades showing consistent dishonesty, usually to benefit himself. 

Given that he is a proven self-serving liar, why do you believe what he says? And, if you don't believe everything, how do you choose? Can you give any reason that a rational person should believe him now?

To be clear - this is not a question that can be answered by comparing him to Hillary, or mentioning her lies. I'm asking how and why you believe Trump, not disbelieve her.

Everyone lies but I'm not sure a presidential nominee has ever stood in front of a country and just made #### up to the degree that Trump has. At least not in my lifetime. The sad part is nobody calls him on it. And the even sadder part is that when people do call him on it his supporters don't care at all. It's as if truth and facts don't mean anything at all to them. 

I think the 2016 election is going to go down in history as one of the most pathetic moments in US history. This is nothing to be proud of. My only hope at this point is that we just survive it. That's pretty much all I'm hoping for.

At this point, I'm sure Pence regrets accepting the position as Trump's running mate. Unless he plans on completely retiring from politics comma he does not want to be lumped in as shady and deceptive like Donald Trump. It's a lot better for him if no one can say that Trump and Pence wouldn't release their tax returns. One of the reasons Trump has such trouble getting any support from other Republicans is because his name is going to be thrown in their faces for years to come if they speak up about supporting Trump and his crazy rhetoric.
